- The NYPD launched its “Operation Front Door” Wednesday, an initiative aimed at cracking down on pedicab price gouging and illegal street vending that police officials said are impacting the quality of life in Midtown Manhattan.
What about the delivery wagons attached to ebikes carrying Amazon tubs filled with goods it's pretty much the same crime. The only difference is that passengers are substituted for packages. They are still unlicensed, uninsured, and unregulated by businesses that employ them to deliver these goods daily and make millions hand over fist. They can afford to comply with all New York labor and safety standards and we should hold them to the highest level of accountability as they know they are bypassing laws in all the states around the world especially here in NYC.
I saw that tik tok they charge the couple more than 120 bucks
about time, these pedi cabs always blocking the bike lane
NOW they wanna stop them!!
where was this before!!
its election time
When was the last time a vendor forced you to buy a cheap keychain? C'mon! Yes, unlicensed pedicabs, motorbikes and scooters, cars with no or fake plates - all these can hurt or kill people. Let's get our priorities straight. And how about we increase the number of vendor licenses to make these people taxpayer members of society?
Local residents meaning people who just moved here a Year ago 🤦
do not buy anything on streets or use pedicabs very simple
Everyone is trying to get more $$$
