I am proud that you are keeping traditions alive. I am also of Vietnamese decent and as a kid, my family cooked a lot of family feast and get togethers. I had to be in the kitchen helping such as cleeaning vegetables, cutting carrots, etc. Now as an adult, I am a great cook and learned a lot from my childhood. Came across your video and subscibed to you. Keep the tradition alive and be proud of our heritage with American Style. Haters click away!!!
Yes! It's great seeing you guys back! Awesome video/recipe. Plus, your video editing and your camera shots really rock. Wonderful job! Looking forward to more. Take care and talk to you soon...
Tumeric is a natural herb used as a food coloring in baking Vietnamese crepes. Most of crepes made in Vietnam are used fresh coconut juice, not coconut can. That's why it tastes much better and more natural. Anyway, you guys rock. Love the video, and yes, Tran can cook!
I totally love Vietnamese cooking and Banh Xeo is one of my favorite things to eat and now make from home. Thanks for making this video and making it more easy and simpler to make.
Oh man! I had this for this first time at a Vietnamese restaurant today and I I could do is think about it all day long! I'm so happy I found your video & channel.
You guys did a great job. The video was fun to watch. I'm actually making vietnamese crepes today and needed some refresher course and your video was very helpful! Thanks!
@adiavoy You are right. MY mother-in-law is Vietnamese. We've had a checkered past, but when we cook together, you can tell she's genuinely excited. Funny how food brings people together. We just made this a couple of days ago and it was delicious. Her recipe was exactly the same. We're making bánh cuốn this weekend.
making this right now. A hint to make it more crispy to add some beer to it. adds more depth of flavor and-the carbonation makes it more crispy. Like beer battered fish.
Oh wow! You guys are amazing! You are so nice and friend, good looking and you can cook too! Thanks a lot guys! Now I know where I went wrong, I did not use the prepackaged ban xeo powder.
You guys did a good job on this video. My only recommendation is that you guys should spend some time showing the viewers how to roll the lettuce, and to probably spend some more time talking about the various herbs. Also, you guys should mention the temp of the frying pan. I am impress with this video. Nice work! That was awesome!
Bahn Xeo is gooood. I remember when my dad use to make Bahn Xeo, I liked mixing all the flour, haha Thanks! Great video, and yes, don't cut anyone, ahhaa
my favourite vietnamese food. I think it's best to use a wok and mung beans must be included. mung beans should be soaked over nite to soften it. then add fish sauce and lettuce n mint and yum mo ! (fish sauce with chopped chilli n garlic and sugar) .
I love banh xeo (banh cheo in Cambodian). I make it with ground pork and onions for the filling. bomb. I do the crepe first then add the bean sprouts and the cooked meat and onions. fold. serve with fresh crispy lettuce, herbs and sweet vinegar sauce. drool*
loving yalls...just came across u...hey do u know a good light brown gravy recipe for rice? thanks for your vids .got some of the maggi n looking for the mushroom seasoning-wut's the brand plz?
Question: I have tried 4 times to make Vietnamese pancakes and every time they come out soooo gooey and not fully cooked in the middle.....what am I doing wrong? I have followed the instructions verbatim and every attempt they are not cooking in the center. I've made regular crepes and they come out perfect so what is the problem with the Vietnamese pancake? Thanks :)
@z3rol0ve just because they have the same family name doesn't mean they are brothers or cousin! and i was just joking, don't you think that you took it too seriously?
banh khoai is not from the north. its actually from the central region (hue in particular). and it is not served with a tuong sauce, its served with nuoc leo.

It's good to see you guys bring back Vietnamese food
You can add a little bit of beer into the batter to make the crepe more crispy, my mom usually use this method for bang xeo. Great video!!!

I am obsessed with this. My friend An said to use beer instead of water. Haven't tried it yet. Nice video!
I heard you can also use coconut soda.
I use both of coconut and beer. Coconut makes it tastes better and beer makes it more crispy :)
Thanks Nguyen!
you're welcome :)
I use beer not coconut milk.

I make this differently. With onion thinly sliced no coconut milk and with mung bean. Everything else is the same.
regular measurements in ml

I think y'all should drop the word pizza and just call it Vietnamese crepe because Vietnamese pizza is another delicacy called Tiet Canh.
You guys miss mung bean.
BANH XEO = SIZZLING PANCAKE sound much better.

its prob only called pizza bc it is popular like pizza
