I think everyone is looking back on the New Labour government with rose tinted glasses. Sure in comparison to the last 14 years, the Labour years were great. But Labour started privatisation in the NHS through the use of PFIs (private finance initiatives) to build 100 new hospitals making what should have cost 12.7 billion cost the taxpayer over 80 billion and we won’t actually own the hospitals once they’re paid off! They also sold off more social housing than Thatcher’s government did and failed to build enough to replace what was sold. Local authorities have been run into the ground for some right wing public schoolboy project called austerity... central government support for local government over the last dozen years went down by 58%. Obviously this impacts on what local government can do massively, this has impacted net zero policies but, more disturbingly, even with local governments ring fencing essential health spending if you plot life expectancy of local authorities since 2010-12 and look at the subsequent reduction in local authority spending power the shorter the life expectancy in 2010-12 the steeper the reduction in local authority spending power over the next decade, it's as if the government said the sicker the community the more money we will take from them.

Yes because net zero policies are really working out well for German industry which is currently going through the floor because energy costs are making them uncompetitive. Net zero is easy for useful idiots living off the tailcoats of others in London but in the real world of industry it's a disaster that will do nothing to change the weather.
Dealt with passive hause it is an air tight system that relies on modelling and nominal calculations air source and ground source pumps are expensive to buy install and run if you leave windows open you lose the heat and it takes days you build up it doesn’t respond as quickly as conventional heating systems mostly runs underfloor heating as for the air tight system the filters and re hashing of air keeps bugs in and doesn’t help those with respiratory problems I suggest you take a look at skill builder site and ask plumbers and heating engineers what they think of it there are no banning orders on wood burners in Europe yeah the Germans told us diesel was cleaner than petrol

@@tonyzyklon9328 Check out the Led By Donkeys video on Farage. At a young age was advocating that not enough Jews were gassed. Big supporter of insurrectionist and criminal Donald Trump. Big fan of Putin. This is the man who lied through his teeth about how wonderful Brexit would be and then when it wasn't he blamed everyone else for it's failure. This is the man who told everyone that Brexit would secure our borders. It didn't. This is the man who openly admits that he would privitise the NHS. In America you have to pay the first $2000 for any procedure even if you have health insurance. Good luck with breaking an arm. He's a fascist hiding in plain sight. And given the chance he would completely destroy what's left of broken Britain. Probably the most dangerous man in Britain today.
I wonder why it's not happening here? I mean WHO DECIDES THESE THINGS?? Hmm...........
Talking a good job and producing a good job are 2 different things...talking crap is just for show
British homes need improving at all levels: a garage that actually fits a vehicle, a third bedroom that is at least larger than a baby’s cot … If at the same time new technologies can be introduced great, but why in the name of ‘Net Zero’ or has our friend here got ‘Grand Designs’ on a wider agenda.
1:16 "What happened..."? The tories happened.
There are just too many of us on this planet.
If it's any consolation at all, Australia has chosen to stay at the back of the pack to keep each other company.
See what Scotland can do with the limited power it has. Imagine what it could do independent free from the shackles of Westminster.
England needs to gain its sovereignty back from Tuffnel Street.
@@jimwoods9551lil england can do whatever it wants….we want OUT NOW! 🏴

Devolution can work, just think what the English regions could also do with it?
@@jimwoods9551 I think you meant Tufton Street, but yes you are 💯 right.
The headline is wrong ( Britain) ?
'winter is coming and the roof's still not on'
I’m sure this day and age they could build homes cheaper!
Bricks and mortar got to be outdated with modern materials.
My mate ives in a prefab built after ww2!
No damp cosy as hell, we’ve been conned!
Concrete base, bolted together insulated!
No we can’t be having any of that!
it’s to simple!
And cheap!
So the Question IS , WHY is this happening????? Why
Correction Kevin, what were the government thinking?..answer they weren't as normal. 🤦♂️🤷♂️
Well said Kevin..
Keep up the Excellent Work LDB..
The only thing that matters is happy people who are warm and better off. There are a million strings attached to projects like this and each one increases the cost of housing. You obviously don’t live in Scotland otherwise you would know what the situation is up there?
Higher standards in construction? - Yeah right! Higher standards in profit more like. 🤔
Don't think net zero....un achievable
We are not it is our poiticians with no leadership no vision who caused this mayhem in the UK.Rich lads from top Universities are ruling hence the total downfall of us all.
This always happens with a Tory government.
I wonder who was in government fifteen years ago…
To think you took 10 steps back , so sad !😢
We allow housebuilders/developers to dictate standards that maximise their profits, that's what happened. Government did nothing because they got donations to the Tory party in return for not enforcing better standards
It's consumers to blame, if people demanded more for the money they stump up instead of taking houses with reams of snagging lists things might change
I stead, everyone thinks big daddy should fix it for them
But but but, we’ve lots of windmills and Labour are going to build loads more 😂
I.m fae scotland. Don't believe a thing. We are skint. Ffs, we can't fix a bloody pothole.
I wonder what could have happened fifteen years ago that changed everything?
Haha, you obviously haven't seen Australian environmental building standards, which are the only things approaching net zero here. Our building companies go bust before they've even finished your home, then they run off with your money. The criminals are running the show, here and everywhere.
I get my Australian politics from the Juiced Media, it sounds like a neoliberal hellhole. Just like here…
Dream on.
What happened "15 years ago", Kevin.? The Tories became the government, that's what happened. They receive huge amounts of money from house builders and property developers, I'm sure you are aware of that.
Our leaders were thinking about themselves.
An absolute embarrassment. Our first past the post election method is killibg this once fine country. CHANGE MUST HAPPEN.
Why might this be the case?
I think we are all very aware why we went backwards as a country, probably had something to do with the colour Blue?
You can sell more gas and electricity to people who live in poorly insulated homes.
That'll be Tories responsible.
"Cut the green crap" - David Cameron
Net zero 😆 don’t make me laugh, if you think this is actually achievable your crazy as hell.
Most of net zero is just box ticking for what suits the powers above at a certain time.
Are the net zero scam , thank god someone has seen sence.
Britain is going back to neandathol times
I blame the Tories, ALWAYS!
lol, not with our property developers. crammed houses, no plant rooms, no proper drives, no pavement, no trees, maximising profit over quality and longevity, hit and miss workmanship…
Vote reform it’s all we got now.
Couldn't possibly put this down as another brexit benefit....mugs...
Slow and steady wins the "race" ? Worked for the tortoise.
I heard stats that show a house has to be built every minute to keep up with immigration. Does each house now have to be a Grand Design too?
Thank you Tories, your failure is complete!
Same old story in every sector
Are you for real?
Do get over yourself.
Everyone pursuing Net Zero is slowly realising it isn't going to happen without a quantum leap forward in energy storage.
Please, please move somewhere more to your liking.
That's because they are more interested in putting all that money we were spending on net zero into looking after 'other things'.
Follow Reform UK youtube comments and you see why, huge amount of ignorance and stupidity in Britain right now, you need charismatic knowledgeable people to counter this waste of time and money rhetoric in public debate.
We can't afford your net zero utopia. Come back with something workable. I get so fed up of wealthy people with their luxury belief systems and their ideas of how to spend my money.
Stick. to remoaning, everything else is beyond your meagre competence.
Yes because net zero policies are really working out well for German industry which is currently going through the floor because energy costs are making them uncompetitive. Net zero is easy for useful idiots living off the tailcoats of others in London but in the real world of industry it's a disaster that will do nothing to change the weather.
Energy costs are high in Germany because they relied on Russian gas
what shite is McClown talking now?
Making your energy bills a tenth of what they are.
Race to what, though? And by what means? You might be convinced it the right thing to do, but not everyone is. Are you so arrogant to assume you are right?
