- With Hunter x Hunter coming back I thought I'd make a brief overview of one of the most interesting and evil characters in all of Hunter x Hunter. Although there's much more to his story, this is a good very quick summary of his character and Nen ability.
He is strong, but remember strong is not enough against a guy who brought a shovel to a fight
He's not strong, He's a powerful prodigy, which makes him a really dangerous opponent for everyone.

Kurapika is not gon and killua, this guy is just pure business and ass whooping
The problem with kurapika is that most of his abilities work against the spiders, so if the prince can catch up, his best option is to let someone else take care of him (zodiacs, spiders,hisoka,etc) and focus on his mission(protecting the prince or hunting spiders)
First, the prince has King Crimson as an ability so that’s bbbbusted. Second though that last panel is something I would 100% say if I got a crazy strong nen ability.

He can manipulate causality to a certain degree, have 2 nen beasts, 1 of which is overprotective, he is a specialist and also a prodigy.

Togashi pretty much managed to explain king crimsons ability in one Manga panel, this is one of the most dangerous abilities in the series and we don’t even know what the second nen beast can do

Imagine Hisoka runs into him. He probably wouldn’t catch Hisoka eyes because he’s just mastering nen and not as strong. Then again he can see him as a potential future opponent but the likelihood of him surviving is low. He’s just a threat to theta and the world because he’s a psycho but hello this is hunter x hunter. Practically everybody’s twisted. Even gon is a bit of a psychopath
I would give my two cents on him rather than most of the other main characters. Hisoka's ability is nothing special by itself, he gives it value. Therefore it wouldn't be a techniques battle, rather two masterminds one.
Can't really say that. Hisoka is good at reading the capability of characters or he wouldn't be interested in Gon or Killua when they didn't even know Nen existed.

I mean Hisoka litteraly walks in the hunter buildings for the votes during the new chairman arc and people act like "hm I don't like hisoka what is he doing here" ... dude's a well known murderer , psycho and nobody thinks "hm maybe we should just arrest him"
@@voidroad they aren't a law enforcement agency, they are a hunter regulation agency. Most of them break laws most of the time. They don't care what you do as long as you have your hunter paperwork.
I think when he activates his zetsu ability his nen beast takes his place in the parallel world so thats why the nen beast had a bullet wound on its head and counted as another betrayal.

There is this really cool theory about what fate awaits Tserriednich, and i think that it makes a lot of sense (possible spoilers ahead):
1) the head that we see at 0:07 really resembles Pairo's, Kurapika's childhood friend; wheter it is his or not, that head is certainly from someone of the Kurta clan, someone that Kurapika surely knew
2) Kurapika will see that head and will go absolutely mad with rage and use Chain Jail on Tserriednich (or -something- other than the sight of that head will make Kurapika use Chain Jail on Tserriednich)
3) Since Kurapika used Chain Jail on someone that is not a member of the spiders, Kurapika will die
4) Kurapika's post-mortem nen will stick to the chained Tserriednich, forcing him to be restrained and in a state of zetsu for the rest of his life
5) Since Tserriednich will never be able to leave the state of zetsu, he will be condemned to always be looking 10 seconds into the future, but never be able to return to reality. His body will become a mindless zombie, while his consciousness will be like a tormented spirit. That would be the perfect ending for an arrogant, twisted prince who thought he could play with nen and the lives of others... and would also put a sad end to Kurapika's vengeful journey.
Kurapika isn’t gonna use chain jail randomly on someone not a Spider. He isn’t that rash to do a stupid thing like that
I doubt things will happen this way, but this does sound relly cool and fitting to the characters.

the thing i like the most about nen is how it is an extention or arepresntation of the persons mentality and ego and personality and will and intelligence so the more pressure thats been put on your mind and body in your life the stronger you nen.. and its pefectly represented in tserriednich .. having been an outcast all his life due to his status and the pressure of excellence he put on himslef to overcome that on top the pessure of being a prince and living in that harsh envierenment he became so intelliigent and resilient and cautious and at the same time brave and adenturous and sadistic with a big ego and an overcomensating superiority complex to cope with everything ..and everything can be seen in his nen ability to see the future and calculate in a cold selfish passion.. he also became disillusioned with the world being able to see through lies and it reflected on his nen beast im wouldnt be surprised if he was inspired by patrick bateman
Theta's predicament is genuinely terrifying and I can't wait to see how it resolves.

The dark continent seems to be based on conspiracy theories surrounding the flat earth map, and the kurta clan massacre for their Scarlet eyes may be a reference to the superstition surrounding blue eyes/evil eye in Turkey and other Muslim countries and the idea that blue eyes are evil. Tserreidnich seems to be inspired by cesar borgia s who was a member of the borgias crime family and son of a pope, cesare borgias was also a rapist, pedophile, secretly gay and had an incestuous relationship with his sister and his incestuous relationship with his sister may be where the idea for the succession war came from or atleast the idea of the siblings being out to get each other, tserreidnichs twisted interpretation of mutilating humans being an art form maybe inspired by how cesare borgias was a known sexual degenerate and also be inspired by the rumour that cesare borgias was the secret gay lover of leonardo da vinci who himself was known for robbing graves and dissecting corpses to achieve extremely detailed drawings of the human anatomy, cesare borgias is also who the white depiction of jesus was based on, so tserreidnich maybe painted as another anti christ like figure similar to chrollo. Tserreidnich also resembles kurt cobain, who also had a fascination with the human body as evident by the cover for in utero and cobain once said in an interview that he liked collecting models of human fetuses and cobain like tserreidnich was also a tortured artist but on a less graphic scale. Also kurt cobain in real life killed himself which may be a hint to the fate of tserreidnich, perhaps tserreidnich kills himself at the end of the succession war to show kurapika that he'd rather die by his own hand than be killed as one of the conditions of judgement chain?

Iirc king crimson was time skipping for 10 seconds and diavolo could move freely within the skipped time. But 4th prince's ability is showing illusion of what will happen in the next 10 seconds while masking what really is happening in those 10 seconds. Not really the same.

Actually king crimson also had the epitath ability which allows him to see ten seconds into the future as well. That's how he's able to start his main ability which is to avoid the reality of the next 10 seconds just like the 4th prince, so they are pretty similar. I'd argue that the 4th princes is more op since he knows what everyone is gonna do in the next 10 seconds instead of just the people in eyesight.
@@theaveragepro-2665 you could use aoe abilities or stay defensive knowing the reality you're seeing is fake and 4th prince is still near you in real time. But king crimson just straight up skipped and you can't do anything about that.

You won't be able to sense him at all since he's suing Zetsu anyways The only real drawback is that his eyes are closed so he won't be able to move efficiently.
@@theaveragepro-2665 I'm positive even Hisoka could beat the prince since his senses are sharp enough to notice people in zetsu state. But no one could beat king crimson because it was too op and Giorno had to power up to beat him. Just saying there are ways to counter the prince ability while king crimson is literally unbeatable.
Wow! Having never read past the anime, other UA-camrs gave me the impression that his ability was more akin to precognition. So his ability is actually closer to King Crimson in a way. Though, if he's able to interact with people in his parallel world then that makes his ability King Crimson on crack.

Yeah however what's very worrying is that this is HxH not JoJo. As useful as Diavolo telling us what king crimson does may be (to both the reader and Buccialati) Tserriednich is never going to tell another soul what his ability does. More than that as far as we've seen in difference to KC this one is completely undetectable because you're completely aware during the "erased" time period where with KC you could somewhat be aware of something being wrong (and that's best case scenario).
The only flaw so far I can think of is that it doesn't have the "event erasing" capability KC does where any and every event that happens during the timeskip is ignored leaving only the effects. Just as seen during the first time the prince uses the ability to avoid getting shot in the head. KC would have erased that and completely avoided the bullet through the ability alone, with Tserriednich this isn't the case if he uses his own "timeskip" he still needs to move out of the way or he will get shot because he isn't erasing anything that happens within the 10 seconds period.
TL;DR The prince's ability will be nightmare to go against and the only things that can hurt The Prince are things that he can't physically avoid, in contrast KC would be unharmed by such attacks because he would be literally erasing them.
I'm generally terrified of the 4th mastering Nen but also if him and Karapika fight, it will probably be one of these greatest fights in Shonen and I excited and terrified at the same time

@@aldrinmercado3475 this was explained when Gon asks about his ability. Kurapika uses his judgement chain (if I'm not mistaken) on himself to increase his power. But he himself isn't a member of the spider, so that means he can in fact use his nen on other people just not chain jail specifically.

I don't think he's 1 of the most evil but the absolutely most evil character in HunterxHunter.
Tserriednich also shown to be insane prodigy, and had a character he always create tension by his presence alone which is sign of him being a great character.

That severed head is his childhood friend. I'm not sure if it was shown in the TV series or manga, but iirc, they showed him in a movie.
I think he's the most sadistic in hxh, but sadism is like a surface level evil to me. Gyro is my personal #1 most evil character in hxh

(People in the hxh world should really be more careful. For example, people in heavens arena are risking their lives to watch superhumans fight... or the women who visit the prince. Why even visit him? If he does things like this every day there will be rumors...)

Definitely not Chrollo, in anime being evil isn't your deeds but more what your philosophy of the world how you view others and about what you cares about
Hisoka is a maybe since he's extremely selfish and only cares about satisfaction of his sexual desires which now what satisfies his is killing spiders
Chrollo on the other hand is a more complex guy he doesn't kill for the thrill like Hisoka and didn't show a sign of being a sadist like 4th prince...he is amoral and nihilistic human but not deeply evil, he didn't even hesitate to be killed by Kurapika when the choice was he or 1 of his spiders
Also Chrollo wants Meteor City to prosper&find his place in the world/identity he steal&murder as means to achieve this(as you know means to achieve something in fiction is way more radical than in real life), he doesn't do this to hurt or satisfy himself the way Hisoka or early Chimera ants arc Meruem did
Gyro didn't do anything evil yet the most deeply evil character in the show based on him spreading evil

Just the fact that he can not only just see 10 seconds into the future but also change his actions during those 10 seconds and that everyone else sees him as if he hadn't done anything different untill the 10 seconds are over most definetely be the number one most broken ability in hunter x (maybe second to Killua being able to wish for anything to Alluka without any dangers, but they still need 2 people to use it like that) unless he's killed before using zetsu he's basically immortal, or if he gets caught in a place where he will definetly die even if he does something different in those 10 seconds (like when Konan in Naruto put all those bomb papers so that Tobi had to be there for at least 5 minutes), now that I think about it, it shouldn't really be thaaat hard for an experienced nen user with the right abilities to kill him lol especially now that there's at least one person who knows what his abilities are and how they work, even if not with all details

There's no way this happens in all thw world, thw ability is an illusion basically and has ro have a phisical range in wich it functions, especially since the guards outside didn't seem to be affected so that's 1 limitstion

Until the anime adaption was when it was 100 clarified for lots of people. At that time Twitter reddit and UA-cam all trying to figure out what it actually was. Togashi just a better author then most especially with the best power system in shounen he's built different

Or just catch him at a time when he's not using it. The problem is Kurapika would likely want to talk to him or torture him for info on the eyes rather than assassinate him so maybe unlikely to catch him by surprise. You are also right he's probably already shaved off like 5-8 years of his life by now

@@Jdotbdots Well he's right to a certain extent, Meruem is the accumulation of nen users devoured by the queen and passed on to him, so he was essentially born with nen. If you want to talk about potential and naturally gifted then the 4th prince is definitely more talented. He doesn't have any of the biological advantages Meruem had and he's learning nen at lightning speed, much more than the little monsters Gon and Killua

There's no doubt meruem would murder him on the spot with ease if they fought right now , the problem is the insane growth, special abilities and ressources available
There is always weakness and catch in Nen there is no perfect ability. But i believed his weakness will be lack of expirence as a fighter or being to confident. He can arrange future and manipulate the outcome. But it doesn't mean he is untouchable.
He collects scarlet eyes, and he needs to close his eyes if he wants to use his ability. Someone needs to permenantly close his eyes so he can't break or use his Nen ability or Nen Beast.
So a good suprise attack or pull out his eyes will be the best option.
I really hope we get to see him fight Kurapika but this is also the same man that made Yusuke vs Yomi (The final battle of Yu Yu Hakusho) so I'm a little worried for Kurapika.

Nations nuking each other, every forest seems to have batshit insane beasts, guys with magic who can single-handedly wipe away countless lives. Sounds pretty dark to me. Though there's similar darkness in our world too.

The only thing that ruins the continuity is that we already saw the max potential power of gon… It doesn’t give it any true continuation to somehow try and brush past that fact.
If the prince is stronger then gon, then it just immediately makes the show senseless lol. It would mean he’s so far past gon *who in his future form is the strongest hunter alive* that they don’t even stand any chance. Without some major ass pull. And that still wouldn’t even help cause max power Gon *even in his future form is still far weaker then gin*…. and gin is far weaker then netero when he’s supposed to be the second strongest hunter in the entire existence under netero…was who far weaker then nereum without cheating with the nuke lmao..
Past that, nereum was the strongest possible opponent alive. Which was established as in any potential past/present/future.
So it’s cool that we’re seeing a continuation, but it’s also just going to be a bunch of asspulled retcon content that doesn’t really make any real sense as simple as it’s put here. It wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t already confirmed as this the years ago but I guess he’s still going to try anyway just to give us a glimpse at what the future could have been if it did make it’s full sense without being rushed.
If he doesn’t retcon gon’s future potential or somehow change the entire content establishment of the ant arc, it just could never make sense. You’re basically just reading this acting like the ant arc didn’t even happen which no true reader is honestly gonna enjoy lmao.
The Prince is actually pretty weak.
Stopping time and having a no lie power is but with no offensive moves would make him unable to actually get through Gon's protective aura.
But against normal people and your normal hunter he would be impossible to kill.
He most likely also be extremely weak against AoE damage, even if he moves from his orginal position and get hits by a AoE its game over.
@@Snusmumrikean Right, but the thing is, it still doesn’t make sense. Because we’re still now somehow entering a new power scaling, when that power ceiling was already set prior under terms that could not be retconned.
The additive of nen beasts and now the implication that the dark continent contains things stronger then what we saw from nereum/netero just makes the entire series before senseless.
If anything this should be a second series, it’s more that then a continuation. If things on the dark continent were scarier then nereum, netero wouldn’t have acted so cheeky vs nereum.
Now we walked into a whole era of bullshit though because if we don’t get a full dark continent exploration, the power scaling is still just not gonna fall sensible. We went from fighting the strongest thing possible, to now humans with nen beasts and multiple nen abilities that have to undeniably fall stronger then nereum. maybe his future sight ablity has the limitation of distance. so if something happens outside a radius of lets says 100m he cannot see this in his vision he gets. his ability is maybe linked/based on the principle of causality so he can calculate the future based on the current sitation around him.

So wait the problem with his ability is thst it runs in only 10 second increments before he has to use it again. So if you make him use Zetsu for longer than 10 seconds he can only change the outcome of that 10 seconds. Anything past that and he can't experience it right.

So basically his zetsu is like an inferior version giornos golden requiem or gojos infinity
He makes them see, while he moves fast for a limited time
but those guys can freely move for as long as they want while you experience infinity

@@gabimihalache3639 technically king crimson doesn't erase memory but rather delete or skip 10 seconds into the future and this ability affect globally. But for Diavolo he can freely do any action during this skipped time and essentially alter his own fate. That's why nobody remembers what happened during the skipped time because it technically didn't happen. But because people are bound to fate and fate are unchanging so their life would remain the same even after king crimson effect.
- And since only Diavolo can alter his own fate anyone whos fate is currently tied to Diavolo's fate (ie. currently fight him) will also got their fate altered by Diavolo
*AND* because Diavolo can also look 10 sec into the future he can effectively alter anyone fate to his liking by changing his own fate (ie. throwing *_his own_* blood into the enemies eyes; changing *_his own_* position to punch the enemy in the stomach)

Although i'm worried about _power creep_ in this series anyway. In the first few arcs, they made _such a big deal_ out of really putting into a palpable perspective just how miserable and small Gon and Killua were, just how much training they needed, the lenghts they could go to, and the absolutely demential rift of power between them and other characters. Basically ants compared to literally everyone else 🤔 like they gave us this very real instinct to truly understand that power in this series isn't just random flashy moves and light balls being thrown arround; power takes _decades_ of gruesome training, of flirting with death and a big fucking deal of innate talent, and once it's achieved, it can be and is absolutely devastating when wielded to it's totality, through a combination of skill and discipline.
But sure, just add a character who is literally born stronger than fucking gon's father without even knowing nen, and who is virtually impossible to outsmart or even kill whatsoever 🙃 it just feels like all that work forcing us to understand the meaning of power in this series no longer means anything, and it's kinda frustrating. It was with the ants, but this _thing_ takes it to another whole level.

If you’ve been a avid HxH fan then you kno this show is not like DBZ having the strongest ability per say does not make you the strongest in this show .. it’s all about Wits and match ups .. I still would have ging or beyond smashing this silly little prince
I agree with you all match up in hxh has a chance to beat another for example knuckle vs chrollo. If knuckle able to land a hit on chrollo and activate his nen skill APR. Knuckle can win if chrollo cannot finish knuckle before he bust out. Unlike other anime like DBZ, goku vs yamcha in this match up yamcha will have a 0% win rate. Also what I like in hxh is that your power is base on your personality and character preference and even you can choose a nen power that so strong but it will have drawbacks so that you cant be completely overpowered. (Sorry if my english is bad)
