- Feel free to skip through this video as you please. I say it in the video, but there's little to no reason to think Beyond won't be one of the strongest characters we've ever seen. I also want to say that if you're ever interested in figuring out someone's nen type all you need to do is look at the personality descriptions of each type, and compare to your characters personality. Descriptions are easily found on the hunter hunter fandom, or if you just remember Hisoka's descriptions. Finally don't take my theories on his abilities seriously, it was just something to do for fun, and to get you to come up with your own ideas.
I think the biggest clue for how powerful he is comes down to his name. His name is literally Beyond.
yes and no the beyond can be in the power stand point or just in what he will do for the manga like for example when netero said he was a better hunter he meant by he doesnt over think things etc. I think he will be on a simlilalar level to netero

His honesty and straightforwardness along with his passion definitely hint at him being an Enhancer.
I think he is an Enhancer now that we know for sure from Togashi that his father was one. Seems like Enhancers in terms of raw power are the best in that regard.

Meruem at his absolute peak power would be considered a normal wasp or something weaker.
And considering HOW INSANELY big the dark continent is if we judge how big the sapling was being the biggest tree in the known world.

Seeing him stand next to Prince Benjamin really puts into perspective just how MASSIVE of a man he is.
We gota remember that the ant king was super strong because of absorbing pure nen from strong humans. And when he caught Netero, Netero himself said that he has been the strongest for quite some time and if he would have to gauge himself he would say “about” 40% of his former glory. So the Ant king died fighting 40 Netero
yeah, in the last mission´s movie, we see netero using the buddha and the attacks are outrageously more faster than in the fight with Meruem, it wouldnt be a fight, meruem would lose.
If it was post rose bomb meruem without the poison vs peak netero it would likely be a high to extreme diff fight.

I actually would like to disagree that the ants are strong on the dark continent because of how strong the world they are born into and just shows what it is, a dark and unsurvivable continent that even the weakest can rapidly grow into a being with unimaginable strength, that’s why netero left because he could kill the strongest thing there and there would be a new strongest in a couple of days
and secondly the ants only grew so powerful because they had humans to feast on and especially nen users. they wouldnt get as powerful in the dark continent even if they could survive.

Beyond's look is inspired on Guan Yu. Perhaps, under the right conditions, he is able to evoke his father's warrior spirit, merge it with his own, and become a destroyer of beings. The chapter where his hand emanates aura has always made me curious.
Let's assume that with all this informations and conditions met, every damage he does to enemies has the same destructive power as the Zero Hand?

Beyond maybe weaker than netero but he may possess an ability that could let him survive the dark continent.
And the ants are weaker in the dark continent. They didnt had the chance to evolve. Possibly staying like ants in the dark continent let them survive there rather being a strong and intelligent creatures they become in the human realm.
thing i love about the dark continent its mysteries. I love that togashi is aware that hxh has become a yuyu hakushi clone and set it back to how it suppose to be an adventure anime.

On the tsereidnich point, meruem had a women who tempered his power but tsereidnich has a women who's sharpened it
Hxh doesn't believe progressive power scaling like most shonen animes. Meruem and the royal guards/netero are peak power in terms individual strength. The dc is dangerous mostly becuase its unknown and you're up against mother nature which is impossible to overcome. I think this is where beyond netero comes into the picture, hes going to attempt the impossible and overcome the DC, he will go "beyond" human limits. I think his nen ability revolves around getting stronger the harsher the environments is. He's either specialist or enhancer.
He probably has a nordic or Phoenix themed hatsu as both showcase entities capable of surviving harsh environments and regeneration.
I'd say his charisma is his greatest power considering how he managed to get a group of specialist on his side.
Power wise its hard to say as he isn't like gon and have patients. Especially if he is a specialist

I like the theory from reddit that said Beyond's ability is survivalist. If we assume Beyond behave the same way as his father, that is always seek for challenges. This makes sense why he wanted to go to the dark continent. Netero said he didn't find his strength in the dark continent. Because Netero strength comes from fighting an opponent that can result in a win or lose. But in the dark continent the only thing he can fight is mother nature that can only result in lose. So, it makes sense why Beyond wanted to go there, it's because his ability is survival against mother nature. It could be healing or hunting or any other abilty that can help him survive in the wild.
I think beyond was not as evil as we think he was. I think he's just an adventurer much like ging and he's late father. Though he connects himself to notorious people to achieve his goals. In terms of ability No doubt he's strong and i think he have his own version of guanyin. He's level headed as he fully grasps and asserted the situation that time when zobae disease plagued his team.

good catch making the connection between nanika and ai calamity i think the calamities overall are the manifestation ofthe nen of nature itself . it also bring to mind that illumi s probably going to the dark continent for ai hunting. as for beyond power i dont think power in hxh is measered like you are describing it all about utility and situation the nen power system is a giant rock paper scissor game yes every character has nen reserves and that can overwhelm but its a lot more complicated than that..as for his nen category he could e a specialist on an enhancer
5:50 - I mean realistically, we have to assume that Knov was also using Zetsu in the palace. The palace infiltration was no different from the type of stealth involved in Gon and Killua following the Phantom Troupe. It's a bit tricky to know for sure because Zetsu was not mentioned in that chapter and Knov did use nen abilities. But I'd guess he was maintaing zetsu while releasing aura only from his hands or fingers to keep his footprint to a minium. At the very least he was not at the liberty to fully protect himself using stront Ten or Ren.

Nanika is definitely from the Dark Continent. When it cames to her cleansing Gon's bad nen, I always took that as her needing to put out a level of power slightly above Gon's negative nen to get rid of it. Since his power was supposedly equal to that of the king, that would mean what everyone felt, was the equivalent power of all the ant king coming out at once. It makes sense the zodiacs would also be freaked out too. They're powerful, but no one has ever felt an aura as strong as the ant king. None of the zodiac would be able to beat the ant kind one on one.
Also, when Nanika did cleanse Gon's nen, didn't she have to basically go to sleep for a while because it wore her out? Could be wrong, but I thought she did, and that was a first. It implies that putting out that much power was a workout for it. That doesn't make it any less dangerous. It's still insanely powerful, and could basically instantly kill all but the most powerful nen users in the blink of an eye. It's also shown there there are *a lot* of them on the Dark Continent.

Honestly I think it would be something based around observation, I think he would fight like an enhancer and use his ability to either predict or better understand his opponent. I also think he uses it to keeps tabs on everyone in the world

This is even more so the case now that togashi has expanded the nen affinity chart to be more flexible.
I think being an Enhancer is still a possibility, it sure as hell matches his appearance and overall look. I mean he is looking like an ancient chinese warrior, how much more Enhancer could it get? Specialist still remains a prime candidate tho. I just wouldn't throw the possibility of him being an Enhancer straight out the window.

Do you think it's possible that Killuas grandmother or great grandmother may have been a creature from the dark continent, which may explain why killua can sprout claws and why alluka has his powers, maybe they inherited them from their grandmother or great grandmother or perhaps maha zoldyck or zero zoldyck intentionally married creatures who were from the dark continent so their offspring would be the strongest assassins possible?
maybe his power is sort of like his dads, except instead of creating a giant gold defense mechanism, he pours it into himself to become the ultimate offensive weapon. He doesn't need to stay in one spot, he can move freely and beat the brakes off you.
i really wont say that the ants on the dark Continent are stronger than meruem the ones one the dark Continent probably stronger than the solders because the ones from our world are evolved from mostly regular animals while the ones on the dark Continent evolved from who knows what creatures. but the one important thing that meruem has is nen which I doubt the other the ant kings or dark Continent creatures have. except for maybe ai. but you saying that an ant king would see meruem as an insect does not make sense to me because if that is true it would not just mess up the power structure of hxh if you took meruem and placed him in the dark continent he would probably be top tier because of his nen. and yeah i know their have been expectations to the continent that ended with mostly deaths for the people involved and they were most likely nen users but you have to consider that the study of nen is pretty new you have to consider that those explosions to the dark Continent were hundreds of thousands of years ago so the ways people use nen today isn't how they used it back then mastering all the basics was probably the most you could achieve by your self because again they most likely had to do all this by themselves with no masters or school think of it kind of like magic from harry potter were the best nen users probably were able do curses or light up room like i doubted they would have ability's like chrollos skill hunter with limitations and restrictions so when you take probably nen users from that time that would scale to mediocre or below average nen users to todays time and put them in a nightmare realm its not going to end well. sorry that its pretty long
I agree with you and the reasoning is actually pretty simple.
The ants were vlassified before they ate any humans and Meruem's power shocked even Netero, so I doubt that their former classification still fully applied.
On top of that, the ants at the Dark Continent (or most of them anyway) should actually be quite a bit weaker because they likely have less stable food sources around and way more dangers to worry about.
This may be why they are in ant form to begin with. Cuz as soon as they grow bigger, they get obliterated on the Dark Continent.
Think of it like how you would think of an invasive species entring an area where no other animals pose a challenge to them. They multiply and grow on mass. This is what happened with the ants, normally they are probably not like this. They just happened to stumble upon an area with amazing living conditions.
Maybe killua sis wished for a friend forever and nanika granted it by merging with her
nen beasts arent necessarily new.. they're just being showed in way more depth. the crazy slots clown is a nen beast. so is blinky

I read something in a Google image. It said his in ability here with a transmuter I think. And he can make his aura, hot or cold to the point of either melting metal or turning something into ice. I don’t know how true it is, but I looked up beyond Naturo team because I wanted to know more about the expedition team, and I have a picture explaining their name and abilities, but I don’t know if that was confirmed in the manga Either way, it’s a cool thought that that could be a transmutation ability
In the color panels it seems togashi is depicting his aura as gold just like netero unless that’s not an official color panel but if it is there’s the one with his hand out with hand out and you can see his hand glowing. I don’t think he’s a specialist but in fact hes like netero but BEYOND as his names implies he’s stronger than netero. netero was an enhancer conjurer and a transmutter I believe( correct me if I’m wrong ) he got a major power increase from the dark continent to where he’s so strong he feels as if he’s the strongest being on the planet hence why he urges to get back to the dark continent to face greater challenges and opponents. But if he is a specialist then his power has to be greater than that prince with the time shit if not greater than that then more reliable and versatile. The two line on his face he must’ve gotten them from when he’s on the dark continent. We need more this is an exciting thing to speculate on!
Since we know he sacrifices those around him for his own pleasure (such as his last trip to the dark continent) we might be able to say his ability has something to do with sacrificing people to stay alive or something.

I think beyonds power has something to do with him getting stronger the stronger the opponent is. Thats why he wants strong opponents
all the crew of beyond are specialists with the dark content,ging say that the plan is to trap somehow the threats and move around them ,beyond may have power but as we see netero calling power meaningless in that ground/region ,beyond must have a plan/route to his mind .
Beyond can probably handle up to one calamity at a given time, he needs Ging, Pariston and the rest of the Zodiacs to handle other threats. Tho all of it really depends on Beyond´s plan, on the TV they stated DC expedition was going to target natural resources, there´s no way Beyond will able to have the expedition last more than one location, unless they settle on the DC, so if he aint greedy they can probably succeed.
All this speculation is the product of a potentially unfinished and never finished manga. Let’s our imagination run absolutely bonkers

It was pouf's. Pitou was healing the king. The only reason knov wasn't caught was because pouf's en could only properly reach the top of the stairs. Later palm was instantly caught by pitou's en the moment she got to the stairs.
I think he would have a nen ability like forcing his opponent to fight and use all of their aura until hes defeated them . Since he loves having a worthy opponent

sorry but i dont think tserriednich will come close to meruems power. hxh does not really work like that it does not need bad guys to be stronger than the others its about stakes for example meruem was going to take over the world which is a good stake and one that calls for a strong enemy but with the prince you dont need him to be stronger than meruem what he needs is stakes we are attached too hence kurapika he is a character we like and the potential death that he might have at the hands of the prince makes it good stakes. it was established that meruem was the one pinnacle of creation and if we follow your method we would end up with power creep and a series that is unrecognizable from its former self like naruto or dbz or maybe worse bleach. no hate to dbz or naruto their one of my favorate animes bleach was pretty cool too. no hate to you either just some criticizes.

I don't think chimera ant is the weakest creature in dark continent if that were the case then Netero won't survive 2 time trip into dark continent, the chimera ant probably mid level strength compared to other creatures on dark continent

Thank you, the reason Netero said there nothing in the dark continent for him is because he's a martial artist,How does a martial artist battle against the Nature ?, Netero forte are 1v1's he's a battle junkie like Goku that's why he was so excited to battle Mereum since what he was looking for (a worthy opponent, wasn't in the DC).
I think people like Beyond and Ging will be better suited for the Dark continent because they are adventurers and survivalist's

Meruem did not "learn" nen, he was born knowing it and capable of using it well, if tserriednich was not in the ssucession war he was going to die without ever knowing about it

He cant have a half baked ability like most people. Nen abilities that are truly powerful do need restrictions to increase there power or you may as just well practice martial arts and enhance yourself. But also you need to be flexible like bungee gum+texture surprise. It works well with hisoka's fighting style, it uses his nen type and the neighboring ones, it is very aura efficient allowing him to still fight normally, it also utilizes his nen memory well. Though it lacks the restrictions to be a truly powerful ability though I guess power wouldn't help it. Especially with who beyond's father is and how developed his body is it has to synergism with martial arts and such. It does need to be powerful but being like Netero's pure fighting ability wouldn't make sense since you cant overpower dark continent abilities. He needs to be able think out of problems. Anyways who knows.

I think a good way to figure out specialist abilities is that, similar to JoJo stands, the powers are almost always embodiments of the soul. For instance, Chrollo justifies his existence based on the other members of the phantom troupe, and so, he can take on their powers. In JoJo, Kira’s primary goal is to live a quiet life while also being a serial killer, and killer queen let’s him do just that, killing his victims silently and stealthily, even allowing him to easily dispose of the body. Beyond should have an ability that reflects his patient nature. I’m thinking an ability that requires the fulfilling of a lot of conditions and is dependent on Beyond tricking the opponents into making mistakes, and when it activates, it’s a sure win for him

But yeah, if you eff up your journey, you are saddled with a Calamity. Netero said that it didn’t end all that well.
(Also…I think that the Calamities are given as a sort of penance. They all seem that if used properly, they could be quite useful. Example- Nanika, yes, when someone makes a self serving wish it is potentially catastrophic, BUT, healing wishes have no consequences.)
I under if it´s fairy tale based, like the silver sword, golden sword thingy, if you use calamities right you get rewarded, if you do stupid you get horrendous results.
