This is a really good experiment. I think if you're going to use the tools, use them in a place that has no activity reported. Then take it somewhere where there is a reported haunting and see if the apps pick up anything differently.
It must be terrifying living just above that haunted router.
It's funny, if you watch your phone screen when you're climbing the stairs at about 9:50 minutes, it 100% looks like some shadow figure darts around the corner. It's obvious just a shadow or the camera adjusting, but it's something that a "paranormal channel" would call as actual evidence.

Most of the other devices just pull from electrical power circling around and they pick up on outlets or nearby circuits. Even an abandoned place still has residual electrical power. But what’s funny is people psych themselves out because those devices pick up on their equipment in abandoned buildings. I’m not an electrician but I’ve heard just because an abandoned building has its electricity turned off doesn’t mean there’s nothing there anymore. So it’s definitely easy to debunk these devices because they rely on nearby electrical outlets of some kind. Ah and yes wifi is a huge problem with these devices 😂

Dan you're in a mining community, you should have used a lump of coal for a planchette. Also being in the Valleys the router will fluctuate as the mountains affect the signal, our signal changes constantly throughout the day.

Love it. This is what I expect for a real investigation. Nothing really happens. Some coincidental knocks of the house settling or whatever normal everyday things, no random unexplainable EMF, ghost app spouts nonsense related to ghost hunting randomly (repeating itself is great for building a story), and...a flashlight went out! Spooooooky batteries. The spirits of the dead batteries are haunting the place.
Loved the commentary and jokes. Fully agree an investigation team should go in blind. It'd be cool to have a series of investigations that are blind or double-blind on whether they are haunted and then you investigate and try to guess whether they are based on results. (Though we both know the odds of actual paranormal activity with zero alternate explanations.) Fun idea, though.
I think that K2 meter works more like a magic 8 ball. That gadget with the green led you were using during the daytime walk around might be useful as a stud finder at least.
This is great! Awwesome attention to detail. Animal seems to be the right guardian to prevent anything coming through the board.
I love this vid the intro you could tell you had a few “pops” your words are slurred but the points and the general overview you’re trying to get across is absolutely spot on. A completely unbiased in the paranormal investigators view point I feel this was very well done and very well presented

Really fun video Dan. If you don't have a planchet a shot glass is suitable. Whenever I've seen shows that use Ouija boards and they circle with the planchet 3 times to open communication.And to close circle 3 times, also your not suppose to break contact by taking your fingers off the planchet.Probably is nonsense. I think it was your video that said subconsciously you move the planchet yourself. Never heard of a pencil moving by itself, but who knows. Thankyou, this video had alot of work put into it, can't wait for the next one!❤❤

I'm a very private, keep to myself kinda morsel, but I feel the need to say, that between yourself and a few other fabulous youtubers, you've kept me sane since the beginning of lockdown, and also through out my Sons cancer journey which took over the whole of last year, yourself and my other youtube fixes and your communities have made me laugh and kept things real on a daily basis for all this time! My nipper totally ramboed it and he got the all clear in December, whoopwhoop, but, he had a phone call today with his 1st follow up Ct scan results and his lymph nodes are swelling so scans are now every month, so, I'm awaiting a call tomorrow from his amazing oncology nurse to explain everything like a fine tooth comb, my son is 25 and explained everything to me the best he could when he came round but I need the ins and outs and everything and anything explained like the ins and out of a ducks arse, and, in the meantime, I thought to myself "wtf I need to focus my brain on something", which brought me here.
Good Job, keep being you because you make an impact on peoples lives without even knowing it and you have a great community here ;)
This has got to be one of the most terrifying investigations I have ever watched. No but seriously good video it shows to me the best tool is still yourself and maybe an evp recorder that's not a Dr60. Despite what some debunkers say about me, having me as fake because i used these items myself in a video at my house trying to reach out to my dad. Because I did this i was called fake and cringe so its nice to see you do this video, you trying to do the same thing i was doing except i am not a full on skeptic like you i am a believer more than a skeptic. I am still a very big believer of this theory of your body is the best tool. I think it sucks You get away with being able to do this but when I do it I get crap, but the biggest thing for me is it shows people to try things out for yourself.

I've got the same cheap torches and they are complete dogshite.
Bought a set off ebay for my mountain bike and those batteries don't hold much.
It's best used when they're plugged in all the time for situations like that.
OK I had to stop video as your at the Router. SO seeing it make the K2 go nutz I thought... OH how about a Cell Phone with the HotSpot setting on! I'm sure that would make it go off too & even in places there is NO Electric! K back to watching. 😝
So your router is haunted, and you have a female spirit called Theresa who wants to come in your bedroom. That's... interesting finding, you should make your own internet channel, and it would be a thousand times better than Lee and his dealing with Vlad the Impaler. 🤣🤣
The cabling in your house seems to be pretty good when no cable or switch wall made the K2 go off even though you have active power there. Excellent video, looking forward to the following parts.

Oh and I have found that Ghost Tube will also act differently depending upon the OS you are running it on. Again, not a complaint, just to help with the experiments. That is why you should always do a walkthrough of where you are investigating with your equipment to see what will set it off and give you a false positive. Exactly right about not knowing the history of where you are going to investigate for that very reason you stated.
Great experiment. Living in a house that is probably similar to yours Victorian terrace, 120+ years old. Given the history it is probable, indeed likely that someone has died in the house. Before the creation of the NHS most people died at home. In the running around screaming type of ghost hunters, that knowledge would have them claiming that it therefore makes it haunted. Even presuming ghosts exist (which I don't believe they do) would everyone who died create a ghost 👻?
I never understood the ouija board hype but I always remember being scared of it since I was a kid. Not sure what makes me scared of it though clearly it doesn’t do anything and people make it look like it works. Technically since you used it you would have needed to use the proper way to close the board out. But it’s a the mind looking for something and we psych ourselves out.

You have all the equipment and knowledge would love for you to go to a haunted location live and record the events (would be entertaining with without ghost because of your personality!) you would get tons of views, Sort of like a debunking quest!

I don’t understand what exactly sets off the first device. Everytime people use those they believe what words are said have something to do with their question. You didn’t ask anything so it just kept repeating itself out of context. It’s interesting but I don’t know how it works 😂

Dan, On any of these Apps, doyou know if it's possible at all, if a said spirit can complete a whole sentence. If it is possible then surely that should of happend by now. Also if a spirit want to talk then why on earth do they disappear when it's seen, as The Shape would say " that makes no sense at all "👍
I DL the ghost tube app for a laugh, spent a few minutes talking about the weather. I went and stood under my oak tree and it shouted out sacrifice 😮😂

I noticed with the one app that keeps speaking that all the words or small sentences are all things you would expect to hear if a place was haunted, at least if we go by the old ghost hunter shows of the past, before those apps existed even, which means it's all just randomized, not the least bit real! And the names, just average names, maybe if we heard a more modern names or names more common for the area at least it would be more believable, maybe, lol!
And of course the whole reason we might think being a skeptic might keep the ghosts away, because you're not open minded enough to pick the ghosts up, is because the phoney ghost hunters use that as an excuse for why a non believer doesn't see or hear anything , but why should ghost care whether someone believes in ghosts or not? They wouldn't, not if they are really trying to communicate with the living, they're not going to care, for one if they are real, they will know that most people don't believe. Plus they would probably see it as a challenge to prove they do, if anything!
I have to say I really loved this, it's the first time I really enjoyed a ghost investigation, because I know you won't try and trick us, like the others, you're the only one I really trust not to! Plus I know if something really happened, you would try to downplay it either, because some non believers might nay say even something that really is a ghost, just wanting to stay in denile instead of being a bit open minded to other things!
Hope more people see this and the rest when it comes out, so they can see someone really ghost hunting without all the fakery and without being a believer and using logic and common sense for once! Good job Dan!
One more thing, what would have been great, IF ghosts were real, is if that one app would have said Hello Dan, lol! Now that would be something we could believe a lot more, but since it wasn't programed to say Hello Dan, it won't, lol! But that would have been creepy, I bet you would be a bit creeped out and not want to sleep there anymore, I know I would, lol!

I did see something weird. If you pause it at around 8 mins in you can see an uneaten pack of custard donuts.
Pretty convenient that the ghost app says the kind of things you would want it to say if you were trying to make a spooky video.
Of course. The silly apps ARE programmed to 'say' the stuff needed in an otherwise NOT haunted location 🙂

First observation...Light switches and cables...none of which affected the K2. Just shows how shit K2's are! Both of those type of mains items carry EM!!! so it shoulda reacted = Throw K2's in the trash!!!

Mr Grey, because we are doing an experiment can you check the K2 meter you are using to make sure it's not a knockoff? There are so many of them you wouldn't believe and I've known people that think they have the original find out that they don't. On the front under the lights panel you have 1.5, 2.5.10, 20+ mG, then right under there it should say K-II Metter and on the back it should say Made in the USA K-II Enterprises Camillus, NY. Some of the knockoffs, won't light up when or where the original does, that's why I'm letting you know.
Also, if you are going to do the most popular apps like Spirit Talker, make sure it is Spotted Ghosts, as there are a ton out there calling their app by the same name and then they complain when theirs don't work like others do but they have the same name.
Looking forward to these experiments very much, it's how you learn not to get all nuts over false positives as I've seen way to much of. Thank you.

Really enjoyed this, however I kind of agree and disagree with your statement about investigators knowing the history of a location beforehand. I love history and enjoy researching the history of places... firstly if the reported haunting is plausible or the story has been fabricated, such as the "Black monk" of 30 East Drive (or many, many more)... secondly I never participate with any physical interaction devices such as ouija boards etc as my subconscious may inadvertently cause me to move the device to get answers I know to questions being asked... thirdly I have had some fantastic experiences where others in the group who don't know the history may come up with a random word which makes sense to me and I ask questions which are pertinent to that thread, but I also always ask certain questions to ascertain if the answers are not coming from the person using their own basic historical knowledge... you don't need a degree in history to find out if someone is faking something or not... its very very rare to get positive answers and something that makes sense, but it has happened a handful of times.
In fact I may do a video of my own explaining and putting forwards questions that I believe every paranormal investigator should ask to find out if any kind of information they are getting is genuine...
Most simply put I believe the questions should be...
What is your name... what year did you die / live... who is King or Queen... Who is Prime Minister or the Archbishop of Canterbury / York.
A person from say 1600 would know all that... also the way they answer the second question is a good way of determining plausibility as that changes through the centuries too... a person from say 1421 would not say "1421" they would answer "the first year of the reign of Henry Fifth/V".
I've never seen any video from any investigation where the people there ask for a name, get one, but then don't ask further questions to find out if its not just coming from someone's imagination.... though I have been party to many many investigations where we have had a name come through via a device or a person and when I then ask for a year etc its easy to see they are full of tripe... I recall one time in Lewes a fella was talking all night about some Scottish Doctor, even getting possessed by him (it helped he was Scottish too) and then with ten minutes to go I asked "so can this doctor tell us who was King in 1630" (the year he claimed he was from) but not only could he not the fella said that this spirit had to pass over and go into the light at the same time I wanted to ask some questions... strange that lol.
Sorry i've rambled on... but yeah in short, I think knowing the history isn't a bad thing if your responsible enough to not use it to be a twat.
Also you could find out who used to live at your house going back to 1841 via census records on something like ancestry (voting forms will give you more recent results too).

Also have to point out that Googling and especially asking the owners about the history of the location are the worst thing you can do with regards fidning out the history of the place... easiest and best place to look are a libraries reference section close to the place your going... online i'd again suggest Ancestry search engine but number one online search place is British History Online and the victoria rolls.
