A bit off topic, how did you guys manage that shot at around 7:05 circling the car? I assumed gimbal or something, but the distance and height is so consistent. Or is it a drone shot? Cheers lads
I would have loved to get an E36 or coup 46 but the missus won that discussion when talking about seats for the crumb snatchers, now I have the ball ache of more driver AIDS to try and dissable and the constant worry my rear axel getting left behind me on the road 😂
I know it's a bit late but how much should I pay for a 325ti in great condition with no mods? I don't plan to use it often so I prefer to avoid the very worn ones
I had a 4dr 330i that I eventually gave up on and sold pretty much for the reasons you said at the start. Do the compacts still come with dual mass flywheels and DBW throttles? And does the ASC come back on every time you cycle the ignition? I'm kind of put off owning anything with ASC/ESP or an airbag since the last MOT changes anyway haha
Here we are again. The best option of all is forgotten & ignored - The 130i Mine has 240k on the clock, driven daily all over Victoria, comfortably fits 2 x blue heelers in the back, never had to open the bonnet at drift or track days. Even has enough go to beat many, many modern V8s.
I've actually got an E46 316ti compact but was thinking about an engine swap but what's best? The 325ti M54 or the 330ci 3.0 and what's on the cheaper side? I've been told both engines mount too the gearbox from the 316 perfectly and the diff on the car is great just feel like the M42 is underpowered and a bit unreliable?
Same here, because mine already has 210000km on it and i dont know how long my n42 engine will last, i am currently looking for a rear damage 325ti because than i can Take out everyting i need(engine mcu, etc) and sell the rest of it ;D
I have a blue 53 plate one, they're not lookers but the sport kit looks much better, I quite like it it's grown on me. Looks quite cool in a squat wheel at each corner sort of way, sort of compact haha
Someone needs to make a front end conversion kit for these that either makes it look like an E46 M3 or something completely different and cool a bit like the "boss" s14 kit that looks like a challenger.
Out of curiosity what m52tu specificly revs like slug? Ive driven plenty tu and older and the only that seems like its strangled is the m52b25. And it is restricted in power to make way for the b28. B20 and b28 are similar in character imo woth the b25 feeling very different
I got a 2005 plate 325ti sport 6 speed manual last year - great fun but not looking to drift it. In sport form it seems to have grown into its looks but accept its marmite. Mines Imola Red and looking for another Sport for wife while there are still some about.

not at all. the front end from a sedan fits as is. the Bodyline just doesn’t match. so people usually cut the ti fenders in half and splice sedan fenders in them.
I was just given an E45/6 Compact 320i by my uncle 2 days ago. The engine blew up on it and he already has a replacement car so he said I could have it if i can transport it out of his yard. It's got 97k miles on it and I don't know what to do with it. Maybe throw an I6 into it, put a bash bar on it and find a way to mount standard headlights on it so it doesn't look 100% retarded. Then proceed to beat it into other cars and walls. I just don't know how difficult the m50b25 engine would be to swap despite how cheap they are.
@@DriftlandTV E36 compact is the best compact. you choose the ugliest one lolol. don't make people choose the ugliest car. talk about getting bad rep for e36 chassis. you'll get the horrible rep for a 46 compact. you got the information wrong. e36's are well popular and don't get bad reputations.

@@DriftlandTV I honestly wish I could, my dad used to own a E46 318 Compact and we loved it but unfortunately it had to be let go due to unfortunate timings.
Wtf are you talking about that the e39 isn't a good drifter?! Your insane man for saying that. There was a russian driver that used to rip around and drift in the streets of russia. That thing handles superb my guy. Your ticked if u think the e39 is not a drifter.
I (Jeek) had a 540 for years. Good car for smashing about it. But a heavy soft chassis for drifting. All the alloy arms are so weak. By the time you make them light and good you'd be better putting engine in another chassis.
Usually in the ball park of 4k-5k which is a lot in the UK for a daily drifter. And they have over 100hp more than a 325i and are usually insured by someone in the late 20s to late 30s so they'll cost considerably more to insure. But they're without a doubt one of the best chassis for drifting.
And importing lhd cars are not an option? Over here is common to import rhd m3s, volvos, Vauxhalls and other rwd cars because they are cheaper some how.
importing anything here just adds cost to be honest. we've a decent enough selection over here. I rarely look outside of scotland for cars!! I personally wouldn't drive a LHD car on the road here. would ruin my starbucks drive through (ren)
@@DriftlandTV well to be honest... It seem like an ecinomical option, but i prefere my volvo 240 for drifting... Might need more mods, and is a rusty pice of shit but the style and the reliability is unbeatable... I litteraly ran over a street sign and the only broken part was the front plate mount.. fukin Tanks
So only the plus side its the only E46 model whose rear end doesn't fall apart under its own power. On the down side its the only E46 model that looks like a pig. Ah well if you're only drifting then I suppose who cares how it looks. But for a daily I'd still get a regular 330i/ci and upgrade the diff.
when you say diff, you mean the structure of the car yeah? the looks is a personal preference but the RACP is a 2k repair. So, you can imagine for the purposes of this video why we're advising the compact is good VFM.
@@DriftlandTV But there are ways around that. 1. Buy a car that has already had the repair+reinforcement done. 2 buy a late build E46 which were much less prone to RACP failure. 3. Do the repair yourself for around £300 if you are a vaguely competent welder and mechanic. In all cases you get a faster and better looking car with it. But yeah I can see the appeal of the compact as a low budget drifter, I just don't find it a desirable car personally.
i've had 5 e36's (5th being a donor) and they're way more expensive than a 46 to insure as more crashed less safe blah blah blah to insurers. my current is a iS with a 328 swap and countless mods (as you know from before) and no joke it's cheaper all mods declared than as a standard iS! this will make you laugh though... all my iS coupes i've owned as standard have been more to insure than a 325/328 e36 or even get this my mates e46 m3! for a fucking iS? I'm guessing it's cause more spoilt little mummys boys got bought them and smashed them when they couldn't get insured on a 6cyl? madness though I have an old screenshot showing my mates 46 m3 and my is being more along with his loon 325 and coupe 328 e36 lol. so yeah despite hating a cuntpact looks wise in any form I can see why a newer 46 one would be a very sly streeto beast and easier to insure! also I agree with you Ren about e46's... no desire what so ever bar an m3. all 46's seem to be dodgy and have loadsa issues. I'd def say the e30/36 was the sweet spot for proper 'reliability' cheers for the content as usual guys!
Nope. The only reason the previous generation are worth anything at all is because they're raced in the BMW compact cup. They were utterly worthless before that series. This car is even less sort after. Classic cars, ones worth money in the future are generally worth money due to their design, style and these have none... (secretly I think they'd look great with a ducktail) but they dont. Obviously if the goal is cheap drift car and nothing else, sure they're ok and dirt cheap, litrally a few hundred quid.
Do you doubt that tbe e46 compact will be a future classic Its a unique car and a coupe Fuck that fashion answer of the ugly headlights What is bad for oned its unique for others And i think the chanel owner is a smart guy for thinkind it will be a future classic Because it will And with the Pack M interior exterior is a superb car

I absolutely love these and had a 320td for ages. The headlamps and "ti" name is a tribute to the 02 "tii" Series BMWs cars which also copied the round headlamps FYI
Planning on buying one next year i love them
I think the 318ti 143hp are increasing in value too since they already almost cost as much as the 325ti
They are just as good
i bought one recently.....you should warn people that you need to fit an LSd and pull the rear wheel sensor to get it drifting.......as standard it is pants!
just finishing up my 330ti with 3.91 diff.
fucking love it to bits
Yas. They go so well.
Nice channel buddy!!! I got a 330i to be my first drift car and I love it.
Nice starter car for sure.
A bit off topic, how did you guys manage that shot at around 7:05 circling the car? I assumed gimbal or something, but the distance and height is so consistent. Or is it a drone shot? Cheers lads
Go pro 6 suction mounted to a range rover on full lock. Came out sweet eh.
@@DriftlandTV Ooohh, haha that's awesome, didn't even think of that! Cheers! Keep the dope vids coming! :)
spur of the moment, but it worked!
I would have loved to get an E36 or coup 46 but the missus won that discussion when talking about seats for the crumb snatchers, now I have the ball ache of more driver AIDS to try and dissable and the constant worry my rear axel getting left behind me on the road 😂
Need to stamp your feet more! ha
ASC is no issue. still have DMF and DBW
My first car is mx5 nb love it to bits. Only issue is I've never had enough seats lmao
Here we are again. The best option of all is forgotten & ignored - The 130i
Mine has 240k on the clock, driven daily all over Victoria, comfortably fits 2 x blue heelers in the back, never had to open the bonnet at drift or track days.
In my opinion bigger is generally better! and the 330i engine is good apart from oil pumps falls off
I have a blue 53 plate one, they're not lookers but the sport kit looks much better, I quite like it it's grown on me. Looks quite cool in a squat wheel at each corner sort of way, sort of compact haha
We live them.
Someone needs to make a front end conversion kit for these that either makes it look like an E46 M3 or something completely different and cool a bit like the "boss" s14 kit that looks like a challenger.
You can actually swap the front end to the normal e46 front
is that right?
e36 front one would be cool
Yes you can. Use sedan parts. Bolt on. Fenders do not line up perfect with door lines. But Thats sortable.
e36/35 compact was available as 323ti in other european countries but never mind this one is a lot better due to the advanced rear suspension
They do look good in imola
But last 325ti's Were prpduced in Dec 04. Actually i own one of 3 last compacts (325) ever produced ;)
@@bartosz1294 yep - didn't say it was made in 2005 - its a 2005 registration (hence 2005 plate reference) and was built in 2004 probably - or am i just pretending to have the car parked outside. Great that you have one of of the last 3 if that is important to you
Oh ok ;) Compact 325 is quite unique car, only 6k was produced so 3rd last 325 ti is an aditional intresting history and its nice to have with almost everything you can imagine in E46 :D
I also have a 05 plate 325ti sport 6 speed manual, mine is grey. Bought mine 8.5 years ago, do you still have yours?
Autotrader searches for 325ti’s gone through the roof😂
hahaha all 325ti just went up by £100
im getting a 1.8 ti friday cant wait
nice one mate!
Hopefully valve guides are ok seem to wear out prematurely on Bmw 4 cyl's of that generation
Once u get used to the compact u don't need the hand brake as much scandi flick or clutch kick
Mine was a e36ti, m3 wheels and spacers, fantastic car,
sounds good, people starting to realise!
I have a compact and I’m getting a new exhaust 😉😉😉👍👍 can not wait yeeeeeeeee
BRapps.
i like this video very match! i have a compact e46 with m54 b22 2200cc with 170 hp i put this engine into my car.the car before it was 316ti.do you suggest me some information about put parts to doing drift, only i have suspension bilstein hard yellow.
Welded diff, decent seat, hydro in that order.
jeek getting the hang of the drone now
slowly but surely. wait till you see what we got in finland ice drifting this weekend!
Great car, was sad to see mine go.
Ya made me want to buy an e46 compact 😁
You dont have too. hahaha
I know but i now want too i wanted a e36 but been prrsuaded otherwise
What you think but the e46 320td compact 2.0 turbo 150hp? I buy one recently
@driftland
E34 daily drifter gangggggg
FORLYFE!
I'll need to come & give it a go sometime
drop us an email for discounts on experiences. info@driftlanduk.com
How did you replace your subframe mounts on the 350z? I may have snapped 2 of them.
Hey Mark it was covered in one of our old driftlandgarage episodes
@@DriftlandTV Great I'll dig it out
What was it called can't seem to find it?
hahah dude you're an awesome driver. nice one. :D
I'd get one of these straight away if the front end wasn't so ugly. And i've heard doing a front end conversion is very difficult and expensive
Never tried it but be cool to see an e36 front end on one
Nope. E46 sedan parts. Fender dont line up perfect, But that can be sorted.
bergrud what about coupe
not at all.
the front end from a sedan fits as is.
the Bodyline just doesn’t match.
so people usually cut the ti fenders in half and splice sedan fenders in them.
T Hanks no coupe has different dimensions in hood and fenders. Need to use sedan.
how about 3 compact 2.0d m performance? i have it but need to redo a. lil and its kinda expensive?
Diesels are not ideal drift cars
i have a good one in Australia so if you want one
I was just given an E45/6 Compact 320i by my uncle 2 days ago. The engine blew up on it and he already has a replacement car so he said I could have it if i can transport it out of his yard. It's got 97k miles on it and I don't know what to do with it. Maybe throw an I6 into it, put a bash bar on it and find a way to mount standard headlights on it so it doesn't look 100% retarded. Then proceed to beat it into other cars and walls. I just don't know how difficult the m50b25 engine would be to swap despite how cheap they are.
not tried an m50b25. Some EWS issue to deal with for sure
Not BMW’s best design 🤮
I think they have aged really well.
E46 sedan front end swap. No biggie.
@@nightreapers3425 christ 2 Posts about it. Is your mum an e36? Lmao 🤣

i own it and looooooooooove it ! its as keeper
Do a coupe front end swap to make the car look better=)
5:20 is that a sacrilegious r34 powered by Mpower?
Sort off. It's a beeR R32 with a BMW v8.
the car look fine until you give a sh*t about the headlight
I Think there are plenty 318ti in england... I've seen them also in coventry and Birmingham
By the way lines are made is not exactly a good thing to weld it.
Also you get to much wheel spin translating in to agressive transition of power thus making it ...........slow.
Hmm not what we have found to be true
wow so much hate for this car, i personally like it apart from the front end
i know! so much hate! wait till they run out of options 🙈
At least this car doesn't have those ridiculous front lights reaching almost back to the a-pillars. ;)
I like the compact, it's distinct from today's cars.
Lol so true regarding headlights to a-pillars!!! How is that a good look? Seriously the 325ti looks better everyday tbh...very distinctive!
Anyone interested in purchasing a 2003 316 ti ? Not asking much ( august 2023)
Why no other E46? I did not understand.
explained in the video bud
I rather ride a bike than driving a e46 compact

How can we buy a E46 or E36 Compact if Driftland has purchased them all already 😂😂
Hahah true. Wanna buy one?
@@DriftlandTV I honestly wish I could, my dad used to own a E46 318 Compact and we loved it but unfortunately it had to be let go due to unfortunate timings.
People didn't like it when it came out, people still don't like it now. So what on earth makes you think that this monstrosity is a future classic?
+Ci Guy only time will tell I suppose.
Wtf are you talking about that the e39 isn't a good drifter?! Your insane man for saying that. There was a russian driver that used to rip around and drift in the streets of russia. That thing handles superb my guy. Your ticked if u think the e39 is not a drifter.
Mark Cayetano bruh that was e34 M5, not e39
Giorgio Tevazone I think his name was and it was from georgia, not rusia
I (Jeek) had a 540 for years. Good car for smashing about it. But a heavy soft chassis for drifting. All the alloy arms are so weak. By the time you make them light and good you'd be better putting engine in another chassis.
Think you should sell me a blue boot lid off that e46 compact lol
hahah what you offering?
@@DriftlandTV ok I will take the lid 2 red tow straps for £60 lol
i started saving Money
why on earth have you slammed a 540i up a wall in search of "gnarly skidzzz"

My 320TD is at 211bhp only £600
I HAVE ON IN AUSTRLALIA FOR SALE IF YOU WANT ONE FULLY SERVICED
Thats my car
350z is the way to go😘
They're not cheap or easy to insure.
Shona I got one for 2k so I’m happy out and a 2.5 bmw isn’t just cheap to insure either
Shona yea, I only got mine for doing so drifting and track days so insurance doesn’t matter to me
350z is a great chassis if you can stretch the budget.
9k on insurance yes pls anything for a 17 year old :')
a track only drift car 🤣
9k insurance wtf
Sierras and volvos!! //Crazy swede
very rare on the ground here!
E36 on a H reg? 🤔🤔🤔
Why does everyone forget the is200 very sad face
is200 video coming up we didnt forget
Cuz theyre expensive as fuck for what you get. You're basically paying for 4 e36es and getting the same experience.
@Air here a running e36, e34 goes around 600 euros. Is300 are over 2000. Don't get me started about the cost of parts
Before watching i just want to say i dont like the style of the car...
how about now?
@@DriftlandTV well to be honest... It seem like an ecinomical option, but i prefere my volvo 240 for drifting... Might need more mods, and is a rusty pice of shit but the style and the reliability is unbeatable... I litteraly ran over a street sign and the only broken part was the front plate mount.. fukin Tanks
Think the 330D touring E91 is more for your money, and will keep going up if well looked after!these are ugly as xxxx
Not great for a skid. Great daily though.
i never seen one here in the usa only e36

DriftlandTV that's gonna be sick can't wait 👍
I'd def say the e30/36 was the sweet spot for proper 'reliability'
cheers for the content as usual guys!
IS is the baby M3 mate hahahaha blame bmw marketing
Disagree, but thats what the comments are for isnt it! hahaha
you're comment is totally and utterly worthless
Volvo 240?
Pretty rare here now.
Yes bmw cost 1000dolar that is like free bmw hahaha
