I saw Philippe Dufour at the SIHH, working with students. I feel very proud to say that i saw him, didn't talk to him, didn't had the nerves........ at this moment the greatest men in swiss watches.
It's interesting to see Mr. Dufour walking through the different brands at SIHH, and how the staff at the different brands react/non-react. Some understanding this is royalty walking through, and others; probably don't even know who he is.

Exactly. That was the then-CEO of AP, François Henry Bennahmias kissing his hands at 5:27.
8 rotation/sec vs 5.33 rotations/sec? I really don't know but I have also been searching quite extensively and I could only find that there is a controversy about who got there first and a list of patents which marked a similar evolution in both cases. The end product should be very similar with the usual differences that the Japanese version arrived several years earlier, it costs 10 times less and is probably more reliable and the Swiss version is in watches with "more style" (I feel like this at least).
Well the biggest difference is that Spring Drive has the perfect sweep on the second hand as opposed to 700P not even having one. That being said, there is no need for the extra brakes that stop the second hand from spinning out of control, which happens when you set a Spring Drive at the beginning and it still has too little electrical charge to apply the brakes properly. All in all, completely different movements with the same idea.
how the fuck is he a master watch maker when machines and computer do all the work really he just comes with speaks the ideas with designers and engineers etc
Such a delightful person.

So we're just going to ignore that Grand Seiko had been doing that for 18 years with the Spring Drive?
