  • The former chancellor Kwasi Kwarteng was a leading Brexiteer, describing it a few years ago as a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Since being sacked by his friend, the then prime minister Liz Truss, he's kept a low profile.

Your true enemies do not look like Mr K - the attack on him and PM Truss was an attack on the poor and the middle classes.
Also it seems many haven’t read the book both of them wrote.
He is also correct that the interest rate rises has ZERO to do with his budget.
The reporter here is typical Channel 4 - insulting the intelligence of the misinformed and the ignorant.
Many will never understand what they lost when that right-on-the-money budget was shut down. In reality, the budget wasn’t even aggressive enough 🤷‍♂️
Anyways, people like me (council estate black dude coming up strong despite structural hostilities) will be fine - my salary has more than doubled since the mini budget, taxes into the five digits and still building a couple of businesses on the side 🤷‍♂️
I advise K to leave pathetic British politics and make his way and fortune in the private sector.
British voters are too stupid to exercise their democratic rights for the betterment of the country. They’re also here making jokes and pointing fingers, while being teed up to suffer unprecedented economic harm 🤷‍♂️

You shouldn’t feel personally guilty no, but we should all feel the weight of our cultural history and ensure that we all learn from it and strive to not to allow the same mistakes to happen in the present and future. Just like Germans shouldn’t feel individual guilt for the Nazis but as a part of their cultural history they should as a nation strive to be leaders in promoting action to ensure the world never sees the like of such things again.

Kwasi did NOTHING WRONG. The budget he outlined with Truss was sound. It was pro business, low tax and high growth. The reason the markets went into panic was because of manipulative funds who chose to short the pound. The market chose to drop the price of government bonds and ironically the BoE made billions of profits buying them out.
Sunak is responsible for weakening our currency and suffer high cost imports and high consumer inflation as a result.
Kwasi has nothing to apologise for.
