Thank you so much. Do you means 'the slight collapsing'...I think I should have perhaps sewn the panels together with a tighter tension. What do you think??
What a sweet little box, Chrissie, and it holds a wonderful amount of hankies! I’ve never heard of a hankie box, but what a sweet idea. My Mom always brought a hankie to church and my cousin and I would fold them in such a way that they were like a little doll. We were supposed to be paying attention….i love the velvet fabric and crochet edges too. It’s just lovely! TFS!
Hi Becca, yes, the hanky boxes were a thing back in the day. I still love a hanky and feel lost if I don't have one with me 🙂My two older sisters told me that when I was little I would stand at the hanky drawer for ages picking out the right hanky lol!!
@@chrissiecrosser Oh I love that Chrissie! Well, you were a very discerning child, looking for the most beautiful hanky! I love them too; they’re such a wonderful treasure from a by gone era.
Hi Chrissie, what a darling little hankie box you have created. Such pretty colors, love the little❤’s. The paper inside is really adorable as well. TFS, Shirley
Oh that's adorable Chrissie, brings back memories of my mothers, I can still see hers sitting on her dressing table, wish I could go back and grab it now, love your felt hearts, you always do a wonderful job on them. Love your hanky collection.
So beautiful! Love all the details that add such character. And very lucky hankies to live in that treasure! Thank you so much for sharing. Sincerely, Kate 😊
Love your beautiful hankie box!! I have a box from my mom that is made of Christmas cards. She kept some pictures in it. Your hearts look very nice on your box. So inspiring. I’m still thinking of what I am going to make. 😁 ❤️😘🤗💕
Your box turned out beautifully! I love the paper, your embroidery and the velvet is to die for. Purple is my favorite color! You have a very special collection of hankies. The one that has soap in it looks like hardanger. Thanks for sharing your talent with us! Lisa from CA
Absolutely love this, when I nannied for a family, 30 years ago, the grandma would recycle greeting cards and make these boxes. I still have the one she made me❤❤❤❤
This is beautiful! I didn't know about these types of boxes. Were they produced by families? The majority of what I see online when I search are glass or carved wood boxes. Anyway, I love what you've done! This would be a wonderful gift box for a small gift, too!
Thank you. I won't be doing a tutorial but if you head over to Jeanette's channel at "Mi Cottage Crafts" she has a lovely tutorial there and that is what I followed to make mine. 🙂
