it's not often you find a channel with someone who shares just the right amount of site seeing, food (not the same old tik tok trendy spots - thank you for that!), local culture and speaks so eloquently! We were surprised your channel doesn't have more subscribers but also thrilled to be amount the firsts before this channel peaks. We are now sub'd! Congrats on finding the perfect combo to a well-produced travel vid! Having been to Rome twice in the last 3 years and stayed in this area (our favorite!) I do recommend Chiesa di Santa Maria Maddealena - we just happened to step inside on our way back to our flat from the Pantheon and were left speechless by it's beauty. Doesn't look like much on the outside but wow!! Hello from San Francisco Bay Area!
Oh! and that leather journal shop was right outside our Air BnB! I purchased a fountain pen and notebook there. LOVED the shop and the staff!

When queen Cristina abdicated, she moved to Rome (and is buried in the S:t Peter's church, a rare honor for a person born in a protestant country).
There are lots of stories about her. It has been said that Cristina once visited a play featuring Indian war elephants. And Bernini thus made his sculpture i remembrance of this.
Santa Maria sopra Minerva is a fascinating church, not the least because of its starry sky ceiling. And Pantheon, to me, the most fantastic building in the world.

Thanks for recommending some places that I haven't seen in other travel videos. Chiesa di Sant'Ignazio di Loyola looks really nice. How long does it typically take to have a good look around "smaller" churches like this one - 30 minutes? I was thinking about making a day of visiting smaller churches, and wondering how many could I reasonably cram into the itinerary.
Hi Dean, thanks for asking. 30 minutes is definitely enough to visit small churches like Sant'Ignazio di Loyola 😉. Which other churches are you planning to visit?
@crowntourscom Basilica of San Pietro in Vincole is on the list. I had a big list of interesting churches saved on Google Trips, years ago, but Google killed that service. I checked Maps, but it looks like my list is gone. So if you have any other suggestions, please let me know!
We will try to visit all the original 40 Stational Catholic ancient Churches in August.

visiting with friends in september, is it really neccesary to get tickets beforehand? Is there a place close to the pantheon where we can get tickets to go inside quickly?
