Nah fam, that's because people who aren't originally dutch are counted with that as well. Especially in the northern part of The Netherlands almost every young (dutch rooted) woman is between 174 and 184 cm. There are exceptions ofcourse, both shorter and taller.

I think it's pretty much the same for all Scandinavian / Northern European countries. I'm from Finland (Finns are among shortest up here) and 170 cm and considered kinda short around my friends. 188 cm for a guy would be very normal. About the Netherlands, there's even a study that says they have the tallest men in the world.

It's kind of like that in Canada as well. I live in a family of tall people I'm 185cm and that's kind of the average height in my family. Everyone towers over me so when people call me tall I get super confused like "what do you mean!? I'm not that tall!" I guess I forget that not everyone is the same size as my family. 😂😂😂😂
@김원준 Nicolai did mention that the average height for Norwegian men is about 180cm, which is true. That is the national average. The difference between average heights based on cities is quite substantial, though. For example, the "sami people" living up in the far northern parts of the country are generally very short, and the people living down in the southern part of the country are quite tall. I'm about 185cm, and pretty much all of my friends are taller than me. I grew up in a small Norwegian town where every single one of my male childhood friends grew up to become 190cm or taller. Growing up, I was used to being one of the "not so tall guys". Nowadays, that town seems to be mostly inhabited by Middle-Eastern immigrants, though, so I don't feel so short anymore whenever I'm in the area :P

That depends entirely on where you live in the country. 180cm is tall if you live in Finnmark. However, at that height, you may be considered average or short if you live in a different part of the country.
Yes, I think he was exaggerating or trying to be funny. Although he was correct about the average height of Norwegians, I've seen plenty of Norwegians who are not tall or even short. A man who is 190 cm tall would still be considered tall in Norway (not super tall or unusually tall, but still tall). Just look at the Norwegian national football team. I don't think there's anyone over 190 cm on the current team.
A female friend of mine from Denmark is around 181cm and honestly, I've never felt like a dwarf in my life before

It's true that most men in Norway are around 1.80 and up, but if you're 1,95 you're considered tall, even though 1.83 is the average. I actually have three girlfriends who are all 1.83-85m tall. But that's considered taaaall for women. Usually I'm one of the shortest when I hang out with my ethnic Norwegian friends, but then when I hang out with my Asian friends I feel tall. And I'm 1.66m
You feel tall when you hang out with asian friends? How come? Korean men's average height is 173.5 and age of 20s are all like 175+ and your height is 166 then you are the smallest even if you come here in South korea

I never implied that Koreans are short or 166, all I’m saying is what I wrote the first time, and that is that most of my friends with Asian ethnicities are my height or shorter. But I’m not saying that this applies to all Asians. Just in my friend circle. And definitely not all Norwegians are tall. There are all different height in all countries. I'm from the Netherlands and I'm 161 cm tall. I am really small here. All my friends are at least 175 cm. My best friends are all taller than 180 cm, even my female friends. Here you are indeed only tall if you are taller than 190, 195 cm. Other people are just called average. I guess it's normal for me too, but I have also been bullied a lot because of my height.

He exaggerated a bit. It's actually 180cm for men and 167cm for women in Norway.
It's true some norwegians is tall but it's not many people wo is over 2 m xD and for girls it's normal to be 160... and boys 180-190(or over)
