I don't - but it's something I'm kicking around doing. I just have to figure out how to get it to you all! I'll be sure to announce it if/when I do release one!
Well, Iâve always been scratching my head about kislux obsession with school bags and their practicality, but this video is adorable! Congratulations.
Ah, thank you SO much for the kind words! I think I'll be making this into a series, as you all seemed to like it, so be on the lookout for more like this!
This is one of the most helpful video on reseller that I have seen yet. Hauls are fun but where I live those brands are nonexistent. Please make more like these. I am going to review all my listing and apply what I have learned here. One question that might be silly but would you just "cottage" or "cottagecore" in a listing. I don't see many with the word "core" attached in titles. Thanks again and look forward to more content like this.
Ahhh - yep.. The Core aesthetics - they're all still very much in play (the amount of "styles" out there is truly endless and forever evolving. I think I'll make this into a series... To answer your question (there are no silly questions!) - if you've got something that's cottage - I generally keyword it "Cottage, Cottage Core, Cottagecore" - just to capture all the different ways someone would enter it... and also add Prairie / Prairiecore with the same mentality for things in that category, as they're closely related.
Thank you so much! I had to cut back the list I was doing so much, otherwise it would have been like 2 hours long (and nobody is going to watch that...). I'll be turning this into a series, though, so there'll be more bite-sized episodes coming soon!
Thanks for doing this, Julia. I really appreciate the info. Speaking of velour tracksuits, I was just at Costco and there was a jam-up in clothing, at least 5-6 women at a table. It was velour tracksuits! Hoodie and pants for $19.99 and the table was half empty. They were all buying at least 3 sets. I don't even think it was a known brand...may have been Kirkland. (I read that all the talk of the Menendez Bros. has brought back interest in those tracksuits). Anyway, looks like lots of women in my area of California are getting velour tracksuits for Christmas this year, lol.🌲🎁🌲
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I still can't believe that they're back in - Either way, that's a pretty great deal for a two piece set... and kudos to those women getting a jump on Christmas shopping. I've only JUST started!
Wow, that was amazing! Thank you so much for putting your time and effort into educating the reselling community, it is an immense help to me who was never into any kind of fashion. All you videos are very informative and one day I hope to go back to the LA area (I lived there in the late 80s) and shop the bins and thrift stores. Thanks again 💞
Thank YOU so much for watching! ...and allowing me to have an outlet for all of this random info I've collected over the years! You absolutely MUST get back here and thrift! The thrifting out here is amazing!
Ah, thank you SO much for the kind words! I'll be making this a series, so keep your eyes out for more (because literally, styles and aesthetics are ENDLESS and forever evolving!
Great information, as usual! I became "fashion aware" in the 80's so to me when you say preppy I immediately think Polo Ralph Lauren. Its good to see that there is a different preppy now. Although I do tend to stick to my comfort zone when sourcing, I'm working on branching out and figuring out more. Thank you for explaining these styles. It helps tremendously.
I'm so happy it can help! I think, as resellers, there's always going to be an aspect of personal preference in terms of what we pick up - you'll always know your own style best, but hopefully this helps you figure out what ELSE to pick up while you're out and about. Following this stuff is a bit of a hobby of mine, so I'm happy to be passing it forward to you all!!
I just discovered you and I’m binge watching-I live in Montana small town one overpriced thrift store. I love picking up dresses a 2 pc vintage suits. I have a ton of inventory. I’m 70 and love shopping online and at thrifts when I travel. I need help photographing dresses and suits but I keep buying. Do you have a video about taking pictures of any of the above. Also scarfs.
You're so welcome! If you're looking for a good guideline on how to keyword (without really having styles to lean on), I did a whole video on it a few months ago that might be helpful - if you've got a few minutes, check it out! - ua-cam.com/video/6B-DRGDZWxI/v-deo.html
Love you Julia You are so kind and sweet to help all of us. I really appreciate this video and I have learned so much from all your videos but this one was tops. Happy Thanksgiving. Susie
As far as Workwear, do you pickup off brand workwear? I see LOTS of it at the bins, but it will end up weighing a lot so I have been hesitant to try it. Obviously condition aside. I am just nervous to not pick up the "big brands" in workwear.
Hmmm - very valid question. In general, I don't pick up anything off brand UNLESS it's potentially got a streetwear application or my gut is telling me it's something exceptional. The reason, say, Carhartt and Red Wing resell so well are because of how incredibly well made they are and that literally everyone in that world knows them. There might be some other less well known brands out there that are equally as well made and sought after, but you'd probably have to know exactly what you're looking for. If you see a lot of it, and you get your hands on something that FEELS really well made, throw it in your card and do a little comping. You just never know!
Julia!!! That was an amazing video. It was fun and educational. You are such a great teacher. I’ve been struggling with keywords and aesthetics. Is there anywhere you know of to get a list of keywords? Thank you!!
So happy you liked it!! I'm glad it can be of help. There are a few articles out there on the web with keyword lists - none of them are super comprehensive, though. I may try to figure out how to build out a keyword list and somehow distribute it to you all... if I can figure that out, I'll for sure be letting you guys know!
Great video. Question - other than the title where else do you put the keywords. I am sure the description but are there other places. Thanks. This was my first time watching you but it won’t be my last!
YAY! Well, first of all, welcome aboard! So - in terms of where I place keywords, this is my general logic: Title - these are your heavy hitter, descriptive of the item keywords - this is brand, item name (if you can find it), color, core descriptors (i.e. short sleeve, midi length, satin, etc. etc. etc.), and size Description - a more robust description (reusing all of the keywords from the title), weaving in a few additional descriptive and style keywords, condition, size, measurements when applicable, and then additional keywords down at the bottom that you haven't been able to weave in. Be careful not to load TOO much. Algorithms are forever being taught to spot "keyword stuffing", so that can actually be a hinderance. Any more than 2-3 lines of keywords should be avoided. Tags - again to your heavy hitter keywords / key descriptors. If you want to REALLY get in to the nitty gritty, you can rename your photos with keywords. That's more of a Google play, but can be effective in driving traffic to the platforms!
Great info but why are you wasting characters in your titles with | and the whole word ‘Size’ That’s 6 to 8 characters that you can use for more Keywords? And the entire size word Small Medium Large Just use the acronym/ letter
Generally, I do so because readability is a big factor in SEO as a whole. If I feel that there's another valid keyword that needs the title space, I'll shorten the other components. Also - definitely don't sleep on putting full sizes in titles. At least on Poshmark, their filtering system is pretty rough, so a LOT of people search for sizes via the search bar.
Love you Julia You are so kind and sweet to help all of us. I really appreciate this video and I have learned so much from all your videos but this one was tops. Happy Thanksgiving. Susie
Ah - SO happy it's helpful! I think I"ll be doing a series of these, since styles and aesthetics are, literally, endless and forever evolving. Have a happy Thanksgiving as well!!!
This is my absolute favorite trends video I have ever watched!
Thank you so much!!!
Thank you! Do you have a PDF/word list of these aesthetics? I'm building my list with the trends that help me keyword my listings. 😊
I don't - but it's something I'm kicking around doing. I just have to figure out how to get it to you all! I'll be sure to announce it if/when I do release one!
@JMSquaredVintage thank you!! You're a keyword guru!! 😀

This was incredibly helpful. How have I not know of you prior to today?! You are so talented! Thank you for helping us - amazing.
Excellent video! Super helpful. This is the first video in a long time that I watched and listened to completely without jumping ahead.
WOW! Thank you so much for the kind words! Happy it can be of any kind of help!
Oh my gosh, finally a reseller on UA-cam who actually knows her shit! The throwaway reference to Issey Miyake pleating was the moment I hit subscribe!
Well - if you're a fan of Issey Miyake, you are my people!! Welcome!
Thanks so much! I love listening to you. Probably the most knowledgeable person I follow on fashion.
oh wow - thank you so much!!!
You have no idea how happy I am that you did this! I’ve been trying to “study” aesthetics and you broke it all down beautifully. You rock!
Ah, thank you SO much for the kind words! I think I'll be making this into a series, as you all seemed to like it, so be on the lookout for more like this!
Thank you for this video! I liked and subscribed. So glad the algorithm put you in my feed 😊
I'm so glad it did too! Welcome to the channel!
I love your videos! Your knowledge of clothing and styles is unmatched. Thank you.
Thank YOU so much for watching - and your kind words!!
Do you put these in the actual listing title or in the theme section??

@@JMSquaredVintageis this in the title or under features? Item specifics ?
Generally in the description / Item Specifics. If I've got room in the title after using the descriptive words, I'll add them in there as well.
Very well organized & explained - I learned a lot & took a ton of notes. Thank you!!!
You are a great teacher! I usually only get to listen and this was perfect thanks so much I will be watching a few more times loggin
Thank you so much! So happy it can be of help!
Julia, this was such a well done video! I think you had a good mix of most of the current popular aesthetics. Thanks so much!

Excellent video. I love the goth aesthetic. Im 58 and never wore anything goth but I just love the look. I look for it when sourcing.
It's so fun, right? I always admire the moxie of the people who fully to commit to a style like that in a society that wants them to conform!
