Starting with a company that is just a one-man-show, and working up from there. LIke what is the ideal staffing for a very small start-up MSP consultant (starting out with some existing clients who perhaps has one or two on an ISP plan but most are not and looking to bring many more MSP clientele onboard through your techniques)? thanks so much!!!!

    • @growthgenerators
      @growthgenerators  Місяць тому

I have not heard about it. What I am seeing is its open source. While that's super cool you get what you pay for. In this case and what I always tell people who choose open source, free or cheap software there is a reason for that. MSPs live on the forefront of technology. To build a business you need a software that works and you can't spend your time always trying to fix it. Time = Money I would go with a RMM that fits your needs that is a paid one that's trusted to help you run a successful msp! I hope that helps!

I think the private/residential isn't all that bad. People will pay hourly for you to fix IT related things for them and when its residential its menial tasks and never my server died and now i cant run my business. I would say if you are just doing things on the side or a one man band residential is ideal. I've done some for 80hr with $40 min. Did it on the side on the weekends. Had plenty of clients mainly old people. But incredibly easy tasks. Was making an extra 2 to 3 grand a month on top of my MSP job. and that was just weekends. Didn't even get into the option of offering the reoccurring services with RMM and what not. It can get boring but boring means easy lol. Gotta appreciate it, a lot of people did a lot harder or shittier jobs for a lot less. Cant complain making 80hr showing some old people how to use a printer or cleaning up their computer haha. But by all means everything he mentions is spot on if you are trying to go for business clients.Great video and information.

I’ve been employed with a MSP for little over 5 years, small business of about 11 employees, 4 of which are the partners of ownership, and of the which does 4 ways of practice. They each individually have their own way of doing things; of which would be best if all 4 were all on the same page. Our focus on the Cyber Security policies were great, but we cannot deliver to customers. I’ve been thinking about doing this on my own, and I’m doing some research, I came across HaloPSA, seen some web seminars on UA-cam, just thought I’d see if you’ve heard anything about them. I would really be open to a compensated conversation to talk about MSP start-ups and how to get started in MSP.

    • @growthgenerators
      @growthgenerators  11 місяців тому +1

This is what you need, section by section. You can always add more, but this is the minimum.
      1. Cover Letter:
      - Introduction to your organization.
      - Contact information for inquiries.
      2. Table of Contents:
      - A clear outline of the RFP sections and page numbers.
      3. Executive Summary:
      - Brief overview of your organization's background and objectives.
      - High-level summary of the IT services needed.
      - Expected outcomes and benefits.
      4. Introduction:
      - Detailed background information about your organization.
      - Explanation of the RFP's purpose and objectives and how your company can deliver the needs.
      5. Scope of Work:
      - Detailed description of the IT services provided.
      - Specific goals, objectives, and outcomes.
      - Expected deliverables
      - Any technical requirements or constraints.(e.g., uptime, response time. This is extremely important it meets or exceeds the RFP).
      6. Vendor Qualifications and Requirements:
      - Qualifications and experience criteria. (e.g., certifications, licenses).
      7. Budget and Pricing Information:
      - Estimated budget
      - Breakdown of costs (e.g., one-time setup, ongoing maintenance).
      - Payment terms and schedule. (Be as clear as possible.)
      10. Contract Terms and Conditions:
      - Legal and contractual requirements. (A lawyer may review)
      - Terms of the contract (e.g., duration, termination clauses).
      - Intellectual property rights.
      - Insurance and liability requirements. (You will need to send them your insurance policies at some point usually)
      11. Timeline | Roadmap:
      - A schedule of key dates and milestones you plan to meet or exceed. (Give yourself wiggle room)
      12. Appendices:
      - Any additional documents, diagrams, or information relevant to the project.
      13. Contact Information:
      - Contact details for the person(s) responsible for managing the RFP and handling vendor inquiries.
      - Contact details of the company
      - A brief overview of the executive team who will be handling the work
Keep in mind its not uncommon for their approval request to take weeks, if not months, depending on the company. Make sure you have enough of a margin built in that if costs change, it doesn't crush the profit. I have built several of these, and they take a minimum of 2-5 days to build and cover every single detail. Be extremely thorough when making this, and have friends/family/colleagues review it several times before submitting.
Let me know if this helps!

Yes Microsoft has the Microsoft Defender for Endpoint to cover servers and client workstations. Cloud portal for central management and so on. For backup they have the Microsoft Azure backup agent (MARS). That would backup file folder and system state backups. If you are looking for application aware backups for like SQL or Active Directory and Exchange or the likes, they have the backup server version which you get to install and manage yourself! They are great! 😊
