2017 was one of the best AFL seasons of all time. Classic games and huge unpredictable fairytale so such as Richmond winning the premiership after finishing 13th in 2016 and the Sydney Swans making the finals after losing their first six games of the year. Although, I'm not surprised that it was Sydney, because they have have a poor patch of games and suddenly bounce back and become a difficult team to win against. The best close game I reckon was Port Adelaide vs St Kilda when Paddy Ryder brilliantly tapped the footy to Robbie Gray and kicked a nice long goal for the match winner and that Port were down by 10 points in the last minute or two. Another was the Sydney vs Essendon, when Sydney kicked 3 goals in the last 3 minutes to win after the siren, especially when Essendon were leading by 19 points and had the momentum.

A101 Well i am still waiting after 12 years and i don't say a word about it. I mean, yeah, i will be very happy if we win the grand final, but i won't talk about for 9 months straight, in fact i'd probably forget within a few weeks.

As a bomber supporter I still dont know why Brendon Goddard didn’t take all the time and find an option, or just boot it long. I was literally crying after this game... I was so disappointed and pissed about Goddard! 😭😭

I think Polec's attempt to tackle was pretty ineffective. Going for the arm pin requires a hefty level of strength on the opponent that truly prevents them from slipping the arm up (that's what Shuey does in this instance). He only really gets a grab of Luke's lower bicep, which gives him the shoulder freedom to rotate pretty much anywhere. The rest is history. Players NEED to start making their tackles hurt again
