    As a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer at 40, I could not be happier that you received good news! And agree 100% to not minimize it! Mine was very small and I found it while doing my manual exam. I was the first of 4 others that ended up being cancerous. But because I had always gone in religiously, they also had a good baseline on me! Regardless, it is SO much easier to treat it if it is caught early and often just surgery is needed and no chemo when caught early enough!

      @fragilefleur Рік тому +15

      I had the same thing due to being consistent in doing Pap smears. Had some off symptoms and got them checked out, ended up with very early stage 1 or 1a something like that endometrial cancer. Just surgery and no more cancer. The surgery wasn’t fun but I’m so grateful to know to check even if you are not sure and check with your doctor and follow up if you don’t hear back. Self advocacy is what healthy living is all about. Know your body and it’s easy most if the time. If something goes off kilter and you are checking you find anything off quickly and attend to it. This isn’t to say that all cancers are fixed by early detection but better even in aggressive cancers to start treatment as early as possible. You don’t know until you know if you are in the clear or have some work to do. Leanna dealt with it amazingly well and so did her supportive husband. They are a great team.

      That actually makes me feel so much better. My grandma passed from breast cancer so anytime I feel a lump I get it checked. Last time I went the doctor said "You know it was your right one last time? Now it's your left. You always get these around your period" Then basically just said it's normal to have lumps and that I feel it more because I'm "small" and idk it just made me feel embarrassed like I was wasting their time

    I just wanted to say a huge thank you to Liana. I have been concerned about my health at the same time that you have. Hearing about your experiences gave me the courage to get a doctor's appointment, and although I'm scared, I know that my blood test next week will be for the best. I am so grateful that you've made me feel like I have such lovely people like you guys by my side. This has taught me that health anxiety isn't as bad as we may think because it's just our bodies asking for help and trying to get better as soon as possible to avoid serious problems. Sending my love to you CLFAM. 🥰❤️

    I’m 15 and I found a lump and it was really scary because I instantly thought the worst. I didn’t hesitate to tell my mum and we were able to get it checked out. They said it’s probably just a duct and I was so relieved. Please if you have the same situation don’t believe everything on the internet, check your breasts and contact someone about it- you’re not alone. Thank you liana for sharing your story ❤️❤️❤️

As someone who is extremely socially anxious all the time, I know what it feels like to just be so exhausted by everything that even when you get the good news you’d hoped for, you’re too tired to really take it in and be happy about it. I'm so glad Liana took her lump seriously and got it checked out. Nothing matters more than our health! And thank you for spreading awareness on breast health and promoting checking your breasts for any changes. I'm very lucky because my mother has always made sure I was paying attention and listening to my body. I once told her that my breasts felt very lumpy and sore, and she took me to the doctor the next day!! Turns out it was "only" cysts but I'm very happy I went to the doctor anyway because he prescribed me medication and my cysts are almost gone. I also pay a lot more attention to my body now 😅

    I'm so relieved to hear the news! But you are absolutely right, it could have been something serious and it's not a waste of anyone's time to go through these sorts of investigations. I also do tend to think that I "would be wasting doctors time and take someone's place who would need an appointment more than I THINK I do", so I totally understand, but more than once my reluctance to see a doctor led to complications that could have been prevented, so it's important to listen to your body and not the voice who tells you "It's probably nothing and I don't want to be a bother". Also, phone calls like those you had to make to actually get the appointment makes me really nervous/anxious too. You were brave through all of this. Wish you and your family all the best 💙

    Never feel that you're wasting time. With health, if you catch something early, it's easier to treat, with a better prognosis, & you'll end up needing to spend less time having treatment, meaning the medical staff have less work to do on you. You're potentially saving them from having to do more for you & also potentially lengthening your life.
    I've a number of serious medical issues so am a frequent user of the NHS. Not once have I been told off for contacting them over something benign or not serious, but I have been told off for not going to them earlier. It's their job, they're here to help & look after us, & they're fantastic at doing it.
    I'm delighted you're fine. I admit I've been worried, especially with all the bruises you have. I mean, it's weird, I don't know you at all but you're always so positive & open about your struggles & love in general, & you seem such a thoroughly decent couple. I also love how you are with your baby, who is always smiling & laughing, a sign that you're excellent parents, putting baby first. I'd have hated for you to have a serious illness.

    For me (from Germany) it's crazy that a scan like this takes so long to get. When I felt a lump once, I just called my gynecologist and they made an appointment with me in the next week. She said she doesn't feel it but scanned it anyways and there actually is a cyst in my breast. I was so relieved to know what it is. Can't imagine to have to wait for weeks to finally get that scan.

    Last month I felt a lump in my armpit, doctor said it seems just like a normal lymph node but did do a scan of it and my breast as well! Had 2 manual exams done 1 by gp 1 by the nurse at the hospital, they both said I have no lumps in my breast, the scan tho actually did show a lump in my left breast but it was so close to my chest wall that it couldn’t be manually felt. Fast forward a week later I got the news that I have breast cancer, now I m waiting for MRI and more test to find out the stage and what will be coming next. Based on size alone the doctor said I’ll be having surgery, chemo and radiotherapy for sure, it’s a very scary time. Also I just turned 27th this month on the second so I’m quite young so no NOBODY is wasting time or resources!! I m just so glad you are ok ❤

Same as you, he fully investigated and said he didn’t think it was anything bad but referred me for a scan which I had a few days later. I had a lovely lady who did make me giggle when she said, “you’re all fine, you just have lumpy boobs” 😂. I have to have a mammogram every 6 months, and breast cancer is very serious, especially if you have the gene(which here in the United States, you can have genetic testing). I was tested, and I don't have the gene, but my mother has the gene. My mother passed the gene to my sister, which that's exactly how my sister passed. She was only 35 years old. We had to actually have her funeral 3 days before her 36th birthday.
    Im sorry that I'm rambling, but I just want people to know that this cancer can hit anyone at any age! Please, if you or anyone else reading this, please get the genetic testing, because it not only detects the breast cancer gene, it will also detect other cancer genes that you may have. I'm so glad that I was able to do it because now I know that I can't pass the gene to my children.

    Lianna I am so glad to hear you are well and that there were no problems. Please! always value yourself enough to understand you are every bit as worth it as anyone else. When it comes to your health and mental health there are no silly reasons or excuses for not getting checked. Your health is important and you have the right to get questions answered same as anyone.

    I have had a LOT of Breast lumps, Drs told me I have “lumpy breasts” I tend to be prone to lumps & bumps. I kinda now know what to feel for. But if I feel something even slightly different or bigger I MUST get checked out. Dr told me NEVER feel bad or guilty or like my lumps are a waste of anyone’s time. The worst one I have found was entirely different, I have a pea sized lump to the side of my right nipple, it’s towards the edge of the areola, it’s pretty hard & moves. That was so different from the others, but even that is fine, but I got it checked out just in case.
    Your health is NEVER A WASTE OF TIME!

    Exactly! Don’t feel like you are taking up time. Health is so important and now you have that peace of mind. Which is something we all need in that situation. It’s always better to know and you mentioning that online is also a reminder to us to be more aware of our bodies. Even the boys should check themselves and be aware, so if something different occurs they realize it’s different from before.
    So thank you for that! I can assure you that healthcare workers truly want to help. And giving reassurance is also an important part of health care.
