At 72 years of age, I remember when the song “Searchin’” by the Coasters came out. It had a line in it that went, “I’m going to walk right down that street like Bulldog Drummond.” Until the advent of the Internet, with being able to see the actual lyrics, I was not sure what they were saying. Even after learning the correct line, I still did not know who Bulldog Drummond was. I’m not THAT old! Now that I’ve discovered who he is, I’m going to enjoy watching his movies. Thank you for posting them!
The best BD movie (IMNSHO) is BD Strikes Back, starring Ronald Colman. The original talkie is also good (and also stars RC), although the silent-movie-style acting in that one can be annoying at times.
Huh, I never knew about that song, thanks. There were a few Drummond movies in the early 1950s, but you would have been just a few years old then. Personally, I like this one and "Bulldog Drummond Comes Back" a lot. There are others I also like, but these two are highlights to me.
Ron, we grew up with those songs too.. Yes, "Bulldog Drummond" in the lyrics piqued our interest as well...then a few years ago I started watching these excellent films drawn in by the titles.... what fun!....
I collected radio shows for yours then they came out on CD then on MP3 which was fantastic all of them are just great I listen to radio stations that play them now thanks again
I just noticed the name H. B. Warner in the cast. Among other good roles, he played Mr. Gower, the druggist and “it’s a wonderful life,” and did a superb job.
So few likes? Hard to believe! Most viewers must like their murder straight; no comedy chaser! Of the Drummond movies I've seen, this is the funniest, imo. More suspense than mystery. That works!
@PizzaFlix What a fun movie. I'm loving this series. I think I've seen them all now. I love Telly's character. John Howard is so handsome. Thank you for posting these movies.
Glad to see Elspeth Dudgeon in this, playing the maid. She also played the Femm family patriarch (under the name John Dudgeon), Sir Roderick Femm, in The Old Dark House in 1932.
I was disappointed initially especially as it is 54 mins and the filmmakers decide to include a montage scene featuring old footage but the second half of the film improved significantly from the first. There were even improvements from the last film notably the re-introduction of Heather Angel as Phylis and HB Warner as Nielsen of Scotland Yard which was a sizeable improvement on John Barrymore’s final outing. The film also had a good villain in the form of Leo G Carroll and I even warmed a little to John Howard.
That absent minded professor bit got real old real fast. I'm glad he got bumped off right about when my patience with the character was nearing its end.
Can't help thinking of Monty Python's "Algy" who was, shall we say, slightly more flamboyant! Speaking of Python, the actor who plays the professor here reminds a bit of Mr. Terry Jones.
Those two constables, Hawkins & Jenkins, are in a lot of these Drummond movies. The two Clydes, actually. Hawkins is played by Clyde Cook, while Jenkins is played by David Clyde!🙀
@@101Volts I used to listen to the program on the radio; never saw Drummond on TV or in the movies. On radio they could do anything, no matter how impossible.
Funny how he killed the man who found the "book' and yet he took the time to tie up the aunt and hit the butler-- makes little sense that Drummond couldn't figure that out.
I'm not sure I follow the line of thinking, either. But he _was_ only recognized by the eccentric professor, and not the rest. Maybe he just hit Tenney since he wasn't seen by Tenney and it was quick and just as easy, and he tied up the Aunt... Because he didn't want to kill a woman? That's just a guess.
Good point, but he wasn't to be the _only_ servant; another servant was on the way to the house, but got murdered by the antagonist. Still, I can understand your point that you would expect Rockingham Tower would also have at least a maid and a cook. Maybe they do, but they're just not mentioned.
This mansion and these peeps including “HUGH” are a hell of a lot more classy than that nasty ass Playboy Mansion....I only watched Girls Next Door because I absolutely could NOT believe all the shit I was seeing and hearing....especially in that fucking GROTTO....just SAYIN....
Not one damn thing will keep these thieving zombies away...not hurricanes, natural disasters, Black Magic, examples of Cosmic KARMA energy....NADA.....another zombie just zipped down Honeycomb Serial Killa Lovers Lane just now....like CHRIST ain’t gonna notice they thieving asses ....y’all gonna fucking DIE, bitches 🐀🐀🐀🖕🖕🖕✍️

Had us on the edge of our seats right til the almost happy ending ! The wedding that never was ? Or yet to come ? Guess we have to stay tuned to the other Drummond adventures. Thank you very much . 8/04/20921 SARASOTA, FLA. Hope to join you soon on "Frankly Speaking,.com"
THESE OLD BLACK N WHITE MOVIES HELP ME TO STAY SANE SOCIETY AND THE WORLD HAVE LOST ALL THAT MAKE IT WORTH WHILE BEING HUMAN/ALIVE I REALLY DO PITY THE CHILDREN OF THE FUTURE WHEN I SAY THE FUTURE I MEAN 10/15yrs FROM NOW
These are movies as far as I’m concerned ahead of their time 50 to 75 years better than what movies are supposed to be and have been.
Not only a cook, housekeeper ,butler but also a gentlemans , gentleman. What a world!!!!!

Thanks for the info young man, from huge bulldog fan from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Buldog Drummond, you hit the spot.
Boy! This is really good action with typical 1930s action music! I bet the little buys were glued to their seats watching this movie
I collected radio shows for yours then they came out on CD then on MP3 which was fantastic all of them are just great I listen to radio stations that play them now thanks again
Enjoyable film. Really appreciate these serial type mysteries.
Another classic serial type film. Very enjoyable.
Pizza man, you do find the best good ol oldies!
Very enjoyable! Nice to see Leo G. Carroll of "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." fame in this as Seaton. Apparently, he was always 65 years old.
Keep up the films my friend. Your like a shining light.
Always loved the sound of E E Clives's voice 😁
I rather like it, sir.
These are all good movies. Thank for sharing.
If only they could make films like that today
I just noticed the name H. B. Warner in the cast. Among other good roles, he played Mr. Gower, the druggist and “it’s a wonderful life,” and did a superb job.
Great catch!
And Reginald Denny was in the comical Carey Grant & Myrna Loy movie "Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House." Regnald Denny played as Simms there.
Love bulldog Drummond movies. Thanks
E.E. Clive was perfect for his roll. John Howard was, too. Howard became a schoolteacher when he retired from acting.
ROLE
Thank you for great, commercial free entertainment!

love these movies

Ha ha. Tennison ie., Tenny. Cheers.
Thanks for another Bulldog Drummond movie!
"You vine-climbing Dracula!" Loved the line.
Loved it. Thank you.
fun oldie! Thank you
Many families have an Aunt like this one who never have anything positive to say
I watched on mute, it made no sense and it was the best movie ever!!!! Might watch with sound later.
Thank you ! Very funny and as good as any Indiana Jones movie! Loved it!❤️
Better than the last one, certainly! Then again, that's a pretty low bar.
I own this and still want to watch
Wow, great films.
Great movie and thanks for the upload
Ed
They (pizzaman) don't give a fast rats crippled.....tail
Love these movies. Great ensemble cast. Enjoyed H. B. Warner as the Colonel. John Barrymore overwhelmed the films.
Glad to see Elspeth Dudgeon in this, playing the maid. She also played the Femm family patriarch (under the name John Dudgeon), Sir Roderick Femm, in The Old Dark House in 1932.
fantastic as usual
First time I saw Mild mannered Leo J. Carroll as a villain he ⭐️ in the TV Series as Topper
Leo was also the boss Mr Waverley in The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
He played a villain several times before becoming Topper
@@sunnieJ7389 That includes being the homicidal 'Jim Eberhardt' in the 1940 film 'Charlie Chan's Murder Cruise'.
That's Leo G. Carroll, not Leo J. Carroll. Close.
That just made my gloomy day so much better!!
13:40 Resident Cat behind that curtain ; whose been feeding it emptying it's litter box all the intervening years ? 😂
This was his ancestral home? They had quite a rec room in the basement!!!

Loved the ending! Safer to hunt lions than marrying Drummond!
The great Leo G. Caroll as a sinister servant. An early role.
Can't help thinking of Monty Python's "Algy" who was, shall we say, slightly more flamboyant! Speaking of Python, the actor who plays the professor here reminds a bit of Mr. Terry Jones.
But is really sleeping with a bow tie on😁

Better than Indiana Jones.
WRECKING A BUILDING HUNDREDS OF YEARS OLD.......?????
That ending and that butler. 🤣
I'm surprised that Drummond was so stupid as to race a train to cross the tracks.
"Bulldog Drummond Escapes" also has a similar stunt right at the beginning; landing an airplane in zero visibility fog.
@@101Volts I used to listen to the program on the radio; never saw Drummond on TV or in the movies. On radio they could do anything, no matter how impossible.
A youngish Leo G. Carrol👍
Get a special license. Walk into the nearest registry office and be married. The wedding will keep.
Theme music from Murders In The Zoo 1932
Man oh man when the lights go out mayhem ensues😂😂😂😂😂

Only complaint is Reginald Denny's clumsy character.....too over - the - top.
Like that young Leo. G Carroll
Rockingham Tower is an awfully big place....so why is Tenny the only servant ? Where are the maids, the cook, the chauffeur, etc.?
Good point, but he wasn't to be the _only_ servant; another servant was on the way to the house, but got murdered by the antagonist. Still, I can understand your point that you would expect Rockingham Tower would also have at least a maid and a cook. Maybe they do, but they're just not mentioned.
4:38Tenny fired the cook over a disagreement about the Yorkshire pudding. 🥮
Leo Carroll....would that be Leo G. Carroll ?

Old Phyliss sure is a screamer and squealer
