Something to note as well is when he says "You fold I show" is that before he says that, you look like you are going to call then he says that. If he wanted you to call, he wouldn't do anything to try to change your course of action. So in a sense, he is saying that to try to change your mind since you were just counting out chips to call and it looks like you want to call and obviously we can see your hand so we know he doesn't want you to call.
Have watched lots of tutorials on poker but have to say this is one of the best ones. Really go out of my way to watch Bart Hanson's video. Thumbs up every time!!!
You got my respect, taking in the All-in's response when he got back to the table. I made the mistake of not seeing a player that folded response when a 4th spade hit the board and Seat 9 went all in. I was sitting on the K high flush. I folded and a couple players asked me if I saw Seat 7 sigh and push his seat back basically saying he had the A high. A lesson learned that I always take with me.
What a GREAT video!! We get to see the inner workings of a great poker player in a real tough spot. Thanks for the cool insights!! Congrats on a great read and a nice win.
Great Live read; maybe made the difference of knowing where you stand and hoping your still in front! Great insight Bart in the channel a pleasure to learn from it!
Bart was in his NIT eggshell and suddenly he said 'Damn it all to hell, I've had ENOUGH. A yellow claw breaks through the shell. "I'm ALIVE! I'm ALIVE!"
yeah i am glad someone pointed that out.... i was just trying to be funny....once Bart took 5 minutes to make the call i knew i made a good play.... it was a moot point to me at that time whether he called or not although obviously i prefer the fold. Bart is a legend and it is a honor to play against him. I am just a regular rec.
what is the rule at the bike if someone leaves the table in that situation. if you would of snap called and eli was away is eli s hand dead? would you have got the main as well?
pre flop: I wonder if anyone is ever folding to a 3bet in this game, whats the biggest size we could use here and still be balanced? do we even care about balance in wild games like 5/5 ante on LATB? just some thoughts.
Wouldn’t it make sense to down bet the turn given the fact that there is a side pot and he would be theoretically be bluffing less given the dryish side pot
explain a little more about people not bluffing into side pots, because I see this in cash and tourneys where people continue betting or even overbet to isolate with drawing hands
Seeing this late. I agree with all of the live tells you spot here but I'm not sure how we're saying TT is definitely part of his range but 99 isn't even considered.
The turn where you thought about raising, and then thought better of it. This scenario happens all the time with me when I play, where some weird play seems right, but then I second guess myself because I can see that on paper it's weird. I think this happens a lot versus rec players because they play weird themselves.
Great insight into your thought process. I would definitely have folded staring down at that board. Great call & read. Maaannn I need to learn a shit load more about poker.
I also think Eric screwed up on the turn. If he barreled the turn for a increased best. Maybe 2500 or more. It woulda looked like his hand was much stronger. Kinda just looked like a " please don't call me bet "
why would an overpair like TTs and KKs not keep on betting when there is value? so u never valuebet against JJ,QQ,KK! i dont see what can call u here that u beat actually.... ?
nice hand Bart and great break down - I put you on aces kings or queens and did not think you could find a call on a scary board/ line like that....your not as scurred as i thought.... good job. can we be friends? - ERIC
Why does losing the main pot motivate Bart to fold? If Eli is sure he won, then he likely has a 7, correct? So if Eli has a 7 doesn't that mean Bart is actually more likely to have Eric beat?
@@CrushlivePoker Okay, thanks Bart! I thought about it again with your reply and now I understand. If you believe you have won the main pot it incentivizes you to make the call because staying in the hand and seeing the shutdown becomes more important when you've got the main pot locked down. 👌👍
The bet by Eric makes absolutely no sense?? He knows he can’t win the main pot with ace high and he can’t win the side pot if he is called and if Bart folds there is no side pot!!
wait wait wait you made a call because your live read put your opponent on exactly 10 through QQ, but he's actually got AK.... so you got it completely wrong. And if he can have TT what stops him from having 99 or 88?
and then you pick up another tell which suggest he's strong but then assume he's using a reverse tell... the only thing you got right is that you were drawing dead for the main pot which just makes your call worse imo
I'm confused on the amount of time you took to call Bart. You said many times that you had him on 10's through q's but still tanked a while. Was there any reason you took this time to call or had you changed your mind but not told us?
@@CrushlivePoker Why not? A board with no face cards.. He can easily put you on AK, AQ, KQ or suited connectors 3 betting pre flop.. @@UncleTinman You seem to be talking about two different things; your question seems to ask why Bart thinks 10s-Qs wouldn't bet the river, but your explanation is discussing why Eric bet with his actual holding, AK.
As a newer player, I'm amazed at how lose the guys Bart plays against are. Here Bart 3-bets to $260 and the Eli guy with $1700 calls, that he pushes to call post-flop hoping for a 6 (that of course comes on the river). Eric is playing as if he had better than 7x, but not a set, the whole way, I was surprised Bart had to resort to tells. Then I remembered other Bart videos where he gets beat by guys who call pre-flop with crap and hit crazy straights and what-not, and realize he has to expect it. I think if a guy called in with this hand, Bart hand analysis at the end would be like, "no way you fold here, almost no chance they both have a 7, or Eric has 65 or 76 or similar rare possibility that beats you"
I was thinking that but I can't imagine that a lot of players would want to win that way. Plus I assume he went to the bathroom with some kind of agreement in place to wait for his return for showdown?
Again... Another overbet bluff just like Garret in the previous video i viewed.... U were fortunate. It's a call. What on that board scared u or made u think so long? No broadways = cards were good vs Eric. Unless he had 77.
Thing it the V is repping a set with his old skooly check raise and bet turn, but would a set lead that river?Better to check and call off a bluff.Although these players dont seem too logical so.anyway AK played the whole thing terribly
It’s not really cool for Eric, the way Eli acted on the river. If he has said “I have the straight”, it would have been cheating bc two players are still playing. And that’s actually what he did without realizing what he did. It’s forbidden. And actually at the end, that’s what the sb came to say to Eli.... what can you say to this recs to learn the rules.... Anyway great play by you though, bc you figured it out.
no way that guy had a straight but he played it a lot like a flopped set...even still i think that overbet on the river was very suspicious, a lot like the guy with the 50k stack trying to push you around...or maybe JJ, QQ as you thought, but that bet was not very value-y.. i think i will be a little more paranoid about playing live after watching this...people actually see these kind of tiny details? who knew?? wow... _nice job Bart_ !

Nice breakdown from start to finish, emphasizes why paying attention throughout the hand matters. You seemed confident in your read, and fairly certain that you lost the main; why not shove for your remaining $3200. to increase the side pot win?
I can’t believe you didn’t raise the turn. Cost yourself money. Good call. Let’s give this some thought as an exercise. What if you raise the turn in an attempt to get him to check raise bluff. When a recreational is sat super deep, he is clearly more capable of making silly bluffs where he is representing different hands on every street
