Just bought this router. I love the range it covers my 3500 sqft home. The problem I am having is I havent been able to connect my xbox one or my cameras that are wired.
So do you have to really have Wi-Fi or is it a Wi-Fi booster or how does it work

And I think I'm gonna wait a couple of months or so till the firmware is more stable.
They already have a new firmware and Is much more stable but it depends on what item you are connecting it to.. I would recommend a direct wiring preferably CAT 7 or CAT 8 to optimise the speed.

I've bought this router & I found it was very poor in coverage on the 5GHz band network. I went to service center to replace another unit. End up still no difference.

It will be great to see new ASUS ROG with 21 or larger inch gaming notebook machine with 11 hour battery life in full power forking state. And I believe that in the newer future ASUS will surprise me don't letting me wait for so long
My new unit with updated firmware maxes out at 100Mbps for ports 1 and 2. Have a replacement unit coming.
I've got this router. If you turn on Game Boost all access to the internet is immediately blocked on all devices. So $400 for a router for gaming where it's main feature game boost causes the device to be useless.

Is there a video on how to setup of the GT-AX10000 for streaming IPTV services.
There are a lot of positive and negative opinions about this router against it's little brother: ASUS RT-AC5300. I'm hoping if somebody can tell me some of the advantages of buying this router instead of the ASUS RT-AC5300.

I just bought it yesterday and I have not tried the one you mentioned(RT-AC5300) out yet so I'm not too sure but its quiet expensive to get this(GT) router.. my advice is just stay with what u have for now and wait for some other better routers if you have not purchased any for the past year.. I have some issues with this GT-AC5300 router myself while trying to do the setup.. as you can see as well from the comments here...

Hey i just got the new Asus ROG Rapture with 8 LAN ports... it says on the label that LAN ports 1 and 2 are for gaming... when i plug into port 1.. the wired ethernet internet works perfectly fine...
However, when i plug it into port 2 alone.. it cant get an IP address and the internet messes up....
The other non-gaming LAN ports work fine though. Is this normal?
so.. i have this technicolor router from my internet provider wich is my only option to connect to phoneline/internet, the modem part is really screwing with me i need a more in depth overview and setup tips.....
Thisbrouter is plaqued with issues. I am on my third router now. My original 5300 was great. This one has random lockups for a few seconds and thisbladt time for like 5 minutes. Ended up killing power. Then wifi was completely gone and had to reboot it again. In the middle of gaming it just seems to randomly pause for a bit then starts again. Think I'll take this third one back and stick with my original 5300 that doesnhas issues but not as bad as this one. I think with the still random wifi drops Asus still has on older routers and the new one I'll use the 5300 tillnit dies and move on to another brand.

How do I set up a vpn connection? I saw it on the ASUS normal WRT router setting but not the rog setting

If you find QoS is affecting your experience negatively you want want to review your prioritization of specific experience otherwise you can disable it. It may be better for you to first use traffic analyzer and have a clear picture of how your bandwidth is being utilized specific to range of devices connected to the router. I just pick one of these routers up off a coworker. I set it up as you mentioned but only getting 250Mbps wifi. Router seems to be getting gigabyte in but not out. Yes, I understand wifi speeds a less than hardwired but shouldn't be only 25%. Tries calling ASUS but their call centers are down because COVID-19

my brother I just got this router and it is all messed up internet cutting out everything on Wi-Fi just stops Hardline PS4, PC, Xbox and it boots us all offline it's not working like it should I think I am going to return it

does this router support wan teaming bonding / link aggregation?
I have this router, and (under LAN/Switch Control) there are options for bonding/link aggregation. If you look at the video at 0:20 you can see that ports 5 and 6 are designated for link aggregation.

And it has both types of bonding for modem or switch I'm currently using the dual gig bonding for my modem

I set this up and set up the WTfast settings also. Then I loaded into Fortnite and got 15+ higher ping than what I did have without it. Any ideas on how to fix it ?

It's hard to get answers from Asus. It looks to be an abandoned product already like their sound cards with a huge lack of support. The "fastest usb3" performance on this router is extremely slow compared to the old ac5300 and much much slower than my other routers I've tested from competing companies. The files transfer read speeds wired are 23mbs and 48 on my old 5300. Same drive same conditions. Constant router hangs for several seconds at a time and wifi drop outs. My daughter is now my worst enemy over wifi and gaming performance and issues.
You are right. their customer service is terrible. in Singapore they cannot even help you to do a summary or provide quick assistance to solve your issues. They only want you to bring the items down to them saying it might be a defect. and when you bring it down to them the waiting time terrible and its just a software connection issue.. 1 star service.

I just bought this monster in hopes that it'll run all my home automation stuff. That and I'm a little confused on the VPN accessibility as I've read you could allow TVs and things of that nature bypass the VPN and a firmware may have stopped that feature? I have no idea. It'll either work how I want it to or I'll send it back, like everything else. =]
This router should easily cover you in regards to your use case. It will be easier to use smart connect to have all your devices connect as opposed to separate SSID's. As to VPN the function is still present in the router but you must first sign up for a VPN service and then enable and enter your information. You can find various guides online for this setup process including from VPN providers like NORD VPN and others.

Hello initially set up this router using the mac address option some years ago. I noticed the smart connect option and selected it but the devices I have connected to my 2.4GHz network can't connect. How do I resolve without resetting, if possible?
Well i set up the router but i dont get an WAN connection, i use an telekom speedport as modem (it got a mode to use it as a modem only).

Network Ports and System memory are different, but those could have been handled dynamically.

Nah they only made it for the regular Xbox one and the series x. Same with Nintendo u can only use the old wii not the Wii U
U can use the Nintendo switch on it too but u can only play smash bro’s on this router and limited characters. (Just donkey Kong, Zelda, and Mario.)
