Al was giving an interview some 12-15 yrs ago on a radio show long gone called 'McDonnell-Douglas' inLA. The interviewer tiptoeing around Cossell stated how great it must have been to work with Howard and his )+(Cossell) sad passing by the old nonsense "...now he's looking down at us." Quick as a whip Al retorted "Ahhh No I'd bet he's looking up at us."
I remember Al Michaels telling a story of 83 Philly & Baltimore World Series on the air Howard says "Welcome to the winter Olympics." Then they are signing off & Howard looks at Al Michaels & said "Alfalfa well you proved that well you proved that Lake Placid was no fluke." Lol ouch
I’m old enough to remember Howard very very well. What a character he was!!! He was a loud mouth know it all type of guy on television and he rubbed people the wrong way a lot of times.
@@stanleykolodziejczyk5627 I will always remember the Larry Holmes-Tex Cobb fight where he resigned as a boxing announcer on air in the middle of the fight.
ABC was doing the 1984 ALCS. At the conclusion of it, Michaels and Cosell got into a heated argument about Cosell's drinking. Michaels had to have Cosell removed from the booth. Later Michaels recalled that Cosell had become a ``cruel'' and ``evil'' person.
I very much appreciate your aim. I gave you an hour and about 45 minutes was about your own history, struggles and frustrations. Refine. Retool. Maybe take a Stay Trip.
I only liked Cosell when he did boxing matches on ABC. On MNF he was always a annoying microphone hog. I was glad when they finally dropped him from MNF. He was clueless on baseball broadcasts. He was in love with his own voice
Can you blame the man for ' upgrading' his look to parallel his career..afterall he is not as faceless as he was when he was predominately on radio.athletes arent the only only ones who have a brand.
Hey Colin…why don’t you take any calls from sports fans…isn’t that what you can talk about? Isn’t that your profession? It’s kind of like Biden not taking questions In fact….it’s worse.
I used to listen to his radio show many years ago, he hinted once that there was one aspect of the business he couldn't stand. I think I know what it was.
Let me give all of you a different perspective and insight on this, both guys are Jews and it has a lot to do with a lot of the sentiments and a lot of the things that he's saying. Trust me I know what I'm talking about.. much more back story you haven't heard
Colin, holy cow your facial expressions while listening are intense.
Intensified by that 12 year old haircut/color.
Yeah bro, he's freaking me out so much I can't even hear what Michaels is saying...who is that Martian conducting the interview?
trying too hard!
Trying to show interest when he’s not really interested
I have noticed that in other interviews, very odd facial expressions. And distracting
Loved when Howard Cosell would call Al Michaels "Alfalfa" :)
Howard Cosell should be the last person on the planet to be calling anyone names.

Colin's hair is the real focus point here lmao
Howard Cosell was the commentator that you loved to hate.
I’m old enough to remember Howard very very well. What a character he was!!! He was a loud mouth know it all type of guy on television and he rubbed people the wrong way a lot of times.
True enough, but always goes unsaid is how damn good he was at sportscasting. "Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier! Down goes Frazier!"
@@stanleykolodziejczyk5627 absolutely

Bob Cosmos spoke about the resentment Mr Cosel had towards the newcomers.
Jim Healy always called Chris Shenkel “the late Chris Shenkel” because of the way he whispered through bowling broadcasts
Howard was OG Stephen a smith
'Scuse us Al, the request was for 'the best' of Howard.
Cosell blew away guys like Al Michaels. i wonder how long Michaels practiced his bad imitation of Vin Scully.
@@tw364Cosell sucked.

Colin tried to impress Al with his bad hair dye
That show was the Eyebrow Hall of Fame lol
1:18 - WTF kind of fake laugh was that???
Good catch! I “real” laughed at his fake laugh 😆
Turn it on and off instantly. That’s one of the key attributes in his business.
Super fake, especially how he immediately stopped it
@@GameTime-yj6qv Reminds me of Jimmy Fallon and how he always does that fake laugh, lean back and clap move on the Tonight Show all the time...
can you say burnout,I feel like after 6 months at a job, they tend to get worse as time goes on!
I enjoyed listening to Al Michaels recount his relationship with Cosell, but WTF's up with Cowherds creepy facial expressions.

Cosell hated baseball, thought it was too boring. He said the only reason he covered baseball was that his friend Sparky Anderson was a manager.
He never knew what he was talking about in boxing 😂
Nice hair coloring gentleman why must yall act like girls when it comes to your hair. Your sports reporters.

Is this a relevant comment? Who cares what they want to do with their hair?
It's 'you're', Stephanie.

Give us a 'for instance'. What exactly did both of them being Jews have to do with what Al said.
