As for food, the "slimy" texture is pretty common amongst Taiwanese food. We describe it as "Q" or "QQ" and is meant to be chewy. As a Taiwanese, we pride ourselves with our food - it's okay if it's not for you, but we'll be determined to find something you enjoy haha As for nature, if it's not already in your plan, I think you'll love Alishang (famous mountain for their tea) and also East coast of Taiwan (specifically Taitung and Hualien for their ocean view). 4 weeks is a long time and I hope you find something to fall in love with on this beautiful island we call home. Taiwan is a tropical island, so it has a lot of fruits and seafood; unless specified, many non-fried foods will be soaked in syrup or sauces. Most places understand English, so tell them what you like to eat, and there are many choices!

Your facial expression when having the taro dessert was priceless 😂 Taiwanese people like chewy texture in snacks, so if you don’t enjoy it, you should skip a few traditional desserts here. There are many great hiking trails in Taiwan due to the mountainous nature on the island. Hopefully you will enjoy them❤

Highly recommend Hehuan Mountain north peak in the sunny day. The view is amazing. But now is really cold up there, and the entire trail including both ascent and descent, takes approximately 4 to 5 hours.

Can you please - at some point of your convenience - make a course on how you do sound design for your storytelling. I learn so much from just watching how you build your stories and weave the sound of the ambiance, music and your VO's. But it'd be awesome to see if there is some method to the madness... or if it just a skill you have... as in if there is a way you compose your stories... if it starts in text, in a soundtrack or if it starts in editing what you captured... ether way. I guess it's a long way of saying that I really enjoy how you tell your stores. So. Keep on having fun doing that regardless! :D Thank you!
I'll keep this in mind!! I think i still have a lot more to learn, but eventually I'd love to get more into it as I really love the entire editing process :) really glad you enjoyed it though!

Welcome to Taiwan! Easycard is also accepted on some, but no all, taxis. Taipei is Taiwan's most convenient place in terms of public transportation but once you're out of the metropolitan areas like Taipei and the southern port city of Kaohsiung, some places are a little difficult to get to on public transport. That said, rest assured that there will be locals happy to help point you in the right direction. Just one reminder: scooters in urban areas especially are a menace you'd want to be careful when there are a lot of them in the traffic. Have fun and stay safe.

If you like the sea, I highly recommend Taiwan’s outlying islands, Xiaoliuqiu, Orchid Island, and Green Island. In addition, you must go to the eastern half of Taiwan, which is surrounded by mountains and the sea.❤❤❤
Highly recommend that you guys go into the mountains if you like the nature. Btw I'm Taiwanese but I don't like bubble either haha. I only drink tea with milk and no sugar. Perfect!
Welcome to Taiwan❤ If you love historical towns, you may go to Tainan, where also surrounding different tastes gourmet food and monuments even from Dutch colonial period. If you love monuments to enjoy phytoncidin, then you can consider going to Taitung which is beautiful and full of aboriginal culture❤ Btw, there are currently 16 ethnic groups of aborigines in Taiwan. Each ethnic group has a different culture and live in different areas in Taiwan . If you are interested, you can go and experience it. If you have time, you can also consider riding a bicycle or motorcycle (or taking a train ) around the island. If you want to visit Taiwan's religious ceremonies, you can also check the time of Mazu's circumambulation. Many foreigners like to enjoy the lively,friendly and interesting atmosphere and free food lol🥰 Have a great time ❤
In the city, you can try renting a U-bike, which is very affordable and can be paid for with a credit card. However, you need to register with a phone number first, if you have already purchased a SIM card at the airport.
Claw machine in Taiwan is some sort of investment for the shopkeepers or the customers, where shopkeepers make money from some claw machine addicts, and the addicts resell the plushies online to make profit by playing
So the claw machines are actually a new kind of investment that started these few years. The shop owner will buy rows of claw machines and rent them out for individual owners to let them make money by placing their own prizes. Some tweak the parameters of the claw strength, move distance and it becomes too hard ending up a scam.
Are you Dutch? Because you guys had a little colony in Taiwan before, might be interesting for you guys to explore some of those historical sites and museums about it!

Strongly recommend visiting some flagship themed 7-11. Get some Taiwan-brand cookies and snacks, especially I-Mei's small cream puff.
