I have to watch this every day….what a face….what a smile. What confidence. She hangs the moon.
Was sad for week after dear Kate passed away - what a great concert
Always so gorgeous, the sound.
Martha is greatly grieving, she is coping very well is Rufus ,he glances at Martha to make sure is okay, bless them both 💕💕💕
I'm a simple soul , in awe of this world and actually being here . The one thing I know is mothers trump everything.
James Taylor they do indeed. 🌟
gives me goosebumps and tears
Anybody would rest in piece, with a song like this - Awesome!!!
...for me, PROSEPINA is THE mourning song for Kate....mix of sorrow and anger. (and determined hope).
I was at the Toronto tribute at the Luminato festival that year. Absolutely unbelievable. They opened with Anna leading "Kiss and Say Goodbye," which helped break the ice.
Hatt a shatteringly, perfect voice.......
Thank you, Kate....
Tears and tears as I watch. Martha's greatly grieved, she's so brave. Lost my mom in 2010 as well. Gorgeous song!
She's being incredibly brave at that moment because the words are hurting her to sing. Not many would be able to do that.
i was there. Massey Hall. Awesome from start ("Kiss and Say Goodbye") to finish.
Beautiful. Reminds me of my beautiful mother. I’d love to meet Martha one day.
I stumbled into the genius musicians at a music fest once. Unplanned, they were putting away their guitars and the two of them were so freaking amazing. The vision is still absolutely clear in my head.
I made eye contact and disabled by shyness I made my exit. After all how many times can one be expected to chit chat with complete strangers , to hear, “ I am such a fan of your art.”
I will never forget it though.
I saw this concert at The Town Hall NYC,so Beautiful and sad.
Absolutely beautiful! Enough said.
Tears rolling down my face, RIP Kate!
God be good to with you Kate and thanks for the memories, this is too good and was lucky enough to have seen you as performer more than once over the last 25 odd years all memorable. Thanks for the post
I had to good fortune to see this concert/tribute movie Tuesday night at the Jacob Burns Theater in Pleasantville NY. The movie and music were great and as an added attraction Sloan Wainwright (Kate's sister-in-law) perform a number of songs - some Kate's and some of her own. It was a wonderful experience.
so Beautiful!so touching,..sweet,...intense,..remembers me my mother too.......
So beautiful! I have seen the film at the Sundance Film Festival in London and would love to see it again. Kate McGarrigle was an extraordinary songwriter and I hope her work finally get the attention it deserves. Kudos to Rufus and Martha and the whole family!
Maravilloso homenaje a su madre, llega al alma
Wauw
bring a box of tissues!
Fare thee well, Kate, wherever you roam!
I noticed that Rufus is taking care, as an older brother, of his sexy sister, possibly under influence.
Chaim Tannenbaum
any one know who the older guy who sings second?
Chaim Tannenbaum a long time collaborator of Kate and Anna.
One shortcoming of the film is that it didn't label people even the first time they were seen onstage. In a living room scene some guy introduced himself as a cousin and it may have been that guy. The film never explained any relationships of anyone. It's great, but should have (as every critic even those who like it have said) included a little more of Kate herself and a little bit more family background. I wonder about any relationship with Louden, who did not appear at the concert.
