Hi Ben! I forgot to submit a question but I’ve thought of one now. Out of the cars you’ve owned in your private life what was your favourite/most fun to drive? All the best, keep up the good work
Would you consider owning a Rover 3500 SD1 (used by Met Police or West Yorkshire Police in the 1980s) or a Ford Capri (used by Greater Manchester Police also during the 1980s) or a Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 that many police forces in the UK used during the early-mid 1990s - and having a reunion with Spenner and co and getting criminals off the street....in true Gene Hunt/Jack Regan/Burnside fashion?
One for next time Ben: What is the worst PSU pack-up you've ever been given, and did it contain the obligatory green banana and apple like a cricket ball??
15 years shows you're genuine and not a "Hobby Bobby", mate. That's a fantastic achievement. I worked rural often doing lates/nights single crewed, so whenever one of the (the very few) Specials' volunteered to come on and double-up with me I genuinely appreciated it. One lad was a farm manager and his local knowledge was better than our Intel Unit! Much respect, Graham👍all the best to you and yours for Christmas.
Did 6 years in Johannesburg South Africa as a police reservist (same as a special, although operates quite differently). I attended murders, rapes, horrific car accidents, etc, but found my biggest struggle mentally was moving to the UK and not being able to assist people in the same capacity... still waiting until I've lived here long enough to join the force. I feel I identify more with vets who've served and can't adapt to normal civilian life... Do you ever feel like that, having left the police? Where you're no longer surrounded by people every day who have been through the same trauma?
My first introduction to Ben here and omg what a genuine, hilarious bloke! There were sirens going off down the street as I was watching this and gave me a new appreciation for the local force.
Currently going through the application phase for the BTP, wanted to for years and always had reservations but your videos have really made me just go for it! Thanks for your service and keep up the awesome content!
i saw an advert for those scum saying you can only apply if you are not white, i emailed complaining and they emailed some pre prepared waffle, so if you get the job you could be working with someone who is only there to make up the numbers of ethnics even though they would not have gotten the job on a fair playing field and could be a hinderence to your safety, unless of course you are an ethnic yourself and if you are ask yourself have you only been given the job because of your colour/ethnicity.
Thanks for answering (I think my question) about Specials. I’m a trainee Special starting practical training soon. (Fingers crossed be out there soon.) Good to know Regulars appreciate the help, no intention of being a ‘hobby-Bobby’! Thanks again for all the candid takes on the job and all the great work on mental health.
"Locked up people I used to go to school with......" I can almost imagine the look of horror on their face when you say to them: "You're under arrest for failing to return that pen you STOLE from me in Year 8!" XD
Are you an SC in Scotland, I have been looking into applying recently seems a great thing to do in your spare time and could lead to a full time role within the police
@CMG News Both have their faults, auditing done properly is great, especially when you see a copper doing his job properly, when the two merge it makes for a great video. Like you say, some auditors do it to antagonise the police and try to make them slip up or annoyed, and post it all over UA-cam, sometimes they forget they're humans too. Same can be said about the police, which some treat civilians like lesser people.
The problem is that if they're outside a copshop, filming cops coming and going in their personal vehicles, they look exactly like somebody spying on the cops for organised crime purposes.
@@mememaster147 Which has happened in the past. A female DC from my local force's Child Safeguarding Team was the OIC for a neglect which saw a bloke's kids placed into full time custody of their mothers. He properly had it in for her, loitering around the nick after calling her job mobile to see if she was on shift one Sunday early turn. When she left he identified her, followed her home and challenged her on her driveway, chasing her into the house and smashed up her car. That's the worse case scenario, so I get why some Bobbles have a problem with auditors, especially the antagonistic ones who hang around outside the nick shoving phones in their faces. Many are harmless though, and the guys from the online "Bluelight vehicle community" are always very polite and more interested in what the Bobbies are driving rather than what they're dealing with.
@@danielrobinson2861 No it isnt, stop being a fucking bootlicker, way too many of you on here, bet you cheer everytime they make an arrest on police interceptors.
Here's one Ben: what do you make of people just not signalling anymore? I would say last 5 to 10 years its got worse and you cannot trust any vehicle, cheers Bill
Good video, I have a question: How come we never really see serious crime on police interceptors? I'm sure there's a lot worse things that go on in Bradford than just chavs driving uninsured cars and 'drug dealers' selling 2 grams of weed.
Ben, thanks for all your videos, truly a selfless thing to do posting all your stories and posting about your emotions. This helps in more ways than you can imagine. My question for your next Q&A is, how did your significant other and family feel about you being on the job. When you cane home and had a particularly scary shift would you discuss this with them or would you keep it in work to save them the worry? D
Hi Ben, just finished binge watching all of your videos. I have a couple questions about number plates. - Smaller (illegal) number plates Vs no number plate, what's your opinion? - and follow up question, have you ever had an incident where someone has set off a speed camera but had no number plate 😂 Once again love your stuff and hope to see more!
Ben massively appreciated what you said about SCs, they still get a bad rep from times gone by as you said. But they are genuinely some of the best cops I have worked with! Great all round video.
Favourite sandwich is. Southern fried bbq chicken slaw sandwich. Bbq sauce southern fried chicken cut up Coleslaw (only a bit) cheese slices and some lettuce either little gem lettuce or iceberg lettuce
Hi Ben, just became a special and am hoping to be a full time cop in the future. I'm only 18 Was wondering what's the best peace of advice you could give me?
@Matthew A box of cakes/tin of biscuits to plonk in the middle of the desk at your first shift briefing will instantly guarantee you an entire team of loyal mates for the rest of your service 😉
Get yourself onto the Degree route, or applying for an Apprenticeship in Policing as it’s the only routes now if you truly love the Specials! Best of luck
@Ben Pearson a great alternative job for you would be motorcycle instructor, you have class 1 riding experience which reduces the amount to learn and you get to spend all day on bikes.
Morning Ben, hope you had a great night. Love your videos great insights into your life. I'm from USA and just ordered your book Handcuffs. It's currently over te ocean as I write this. If not to private what size t-shirt do you wear¿ in my thoughts and prayers.

Fantastic episode, cheers! Do you ever get to the point where you feel like it is you vs society? I feel like it could easily get to the point where you are only interacting with the scum of the earth and you lose touch with the decent members of society. Love the channel!
How in earth are you missing that obviously Ben has felt that - along with every other police officer a d sadly even most ambulances personnel at times?!! Inevitable. The public are too inference dicks - especially the ones who disproportionately call the emergency services cos they can’t handle their own affairs / minor crises.

Hi Ben, love the videos, after 9 months working in a prison, I’m now about to become a prison officer, what is your opinion of prison officers and what is the general opinion of the police towards them? Thanks, Tristan in Bristol.
Talking of the issue of traumatic events, maybe being taken out of service and placed in a call center setting might be beneficial coupled with counselling sessions, with government funding there is no way they would give you weeks paid leave and to be honest would you really want to be stewing at home or have your mind occupied?
