His build path is genius. He doesn't finish Kaya until he is forced to take a point in Q, which means that he has the mana to sustain it for a little bit longer because he doesn't know that he can toggle it off from auto cast. A man that makes the most with the cards he's dealt.
This route would be almost successful if there wasn't an antimage on enemy team, also rapier build would be successful if there wasn't a LC on enemy team
Honestly I think Divine Rapier should be buffed, at the moment its literally not part of any six sloted heroes build. Divine Rapier used to give you OP damage but dropped on death, but 2 Rapiers are literally worse than Deadelus+MKB. I think the correct buff is like plus 70 more damage and 100% true strike.
I'm ashamed of it but... When I first started playing Dota I always prioritized stats thinking it would drastically improve my hero. Plus I loved to see big numbers on my stat column Apart from prioritizing the "skill" stats I also went for STAT ITEMS. Now, this would make sense if I were buying items that would benefit my hero's primary attribute but no... I just bought the item that would boost my hero's lowest attribute Case and point is the time I bought 6 Ogre Axe for Disruptor
I distinctly remember as a newbie being unimpressed at how little damage my KOTL right click did to a Wraith King, looked for damage items, and just bought 2 divine rapiers since they gave the most damage. I didn't know they dropped on death, but I managed to kill the Wraithking.
You know back in dota(wc3) days upgrading stats was actually reasonable for some heroes. I remember i used upgrade on lesh stun + stats and ult only. Or jugger wouls get bladefury, 1 point in crit and healing ward then max stats and ult.
honestly part of why i love these videos is that it reminds me so much of the bad old days of wc3 dota. everyone was terrible, no-one had any idea what they were doing. nostalgic really

To Drow's defense (I am trying) that he might be an lapsed fan of dota who came back after 6 or 7 years. Back then skilling stats on Drow and go full marksmanship was a kinda cheesy build and it worked. he is just trying to recreate that. As for Kaya and Yasha, he is confused because back then only Sange and yasha was the item
I don't remember taking only stats, I however remember alternating between one core skill and stats on multiple heroes. Also back then frost arrows didn't add any dmg iirc, only slowed the enemy and not as much as they do nowadays.
I'm currently stuck in Herald and this is what I've faced so far: -"Hard Support" Drow Ranger with 5 Iron Branch till 14 minutes into the game -Offlane Drow Ranger that doesn't know how to use frost arrows -Hard Support Kunkka -Hard Support Death Prophet that didn't buy wards -Hard Support Zeus that used ult to kill steal Edit: Iron branch not talon
i played through 3 divisions herald / guardian / crusader and i can assure u man when u hit guardian u are in deep shit cause new players never ends in herald guardian bracket is most shit bracket
Now imagine this. In all of these games, were there enemy players? Of course. So consider one of these enemy players. Who are they facing? They're facing these noob players that you described as enemies. What does this mean? This means that in herald (and most low mmr) games, the enemy team has noobs too. Except for the occasional smurf or booster (who will most likely win despite the shit show, just because they're good) every single player in herald is a f*** noob. That includes you, your team mates, your enemies. Smurfs and boosters simply learn to read the flow of the game, and experiment with different heroes and roles to find the easiest to rank up with. Then they crush the lane with heroes that scale well, use the advantage to snowball with farming and survivability items, and only fight when they think they can clean up kills, AFTER risky enemy spells are used. Sometimes they force tps to def towers and then tp over to their team to fight at an advantage. Mechanical skill and good decision-making makes for an easy peazy ride out of herald, I know cuz I had to smurf with a 10mmr alt to show my herald friend how easy it is xD
As an Io main i can tell you there are games id rather take all stats+ before any point on Wisps 1- High Mana cost 2- if you are picking Io your team prob doesnt need more damage 3- some games all you need is extra survival and the damage is irrelevant 4- after hundreds of Io games i have a theory that people will be more likely to ATTACK an Io using wisps, if you can get in sneaky without wisps it can be harder to find in TF's I didnt see this in any guide or anything at all and i dont do it every game but it deff feels like it pays off when i think i have to
Honestly I think Divine Rapier should be buffed, at the moment its literally not part of any six sloted heroes build. Divine Rapier used to give you OP damage but dropped on death, but 2 Rapiers are literally worse than Deadelus+MKB. I think the correct buff is like plus 70 more damage and 100% true strike.
This way the player is prioritizing stats reminds me of some of my *really* old playing days, back in the early 2000's, when it was Dota Allstars, and was a mod of Warcraft III. At one point, I was messing around with a stat-based build on Centaur that was actually somewhat effective. This was when his ulti was to get a huge boost of strength (just as Drow's ulti used to be a huge boost of agility), and "Retaliate" didn't increase based on your strength. I would max hoof stomp, and everything else was adding to stats. That, combined with a blink dagger (when it was nowhere as ubiquitous as it is today), made him insanely tanky very early, much more so than even today, and able to get close faster than most players were used to, and would do decent right-click damage. Good times.
Fun fact I just tested Drow with 5 points stats and 1 point ult at level 6 on dummy and you do around 12 dps more dmg than skilling frost arrows with ult until lvl 6. Also you lose no Mana on lane. It might be better at min/max on cs same as the jugger build. :I
This indeed use to be how people played drow in old days. Back than drow had precision aura and her silence was single target. So you would get stats and q only XD
I like that this guy didn't mindlessly buy items, he thought out of the situation what items he needed. Although the build was unsuccessful, it was not a mindless build.
I'm a League player. I don't actually know shit about DOTA. I took W start my one time playing drow because I assumed it did damage and I too can't get her Q toggle to work. I'm not capable of piloting a DOTA hero full stop, and this drow is perplexingly bad even by that standard. You love to see it.
Thanks to this video, I realized that you can still level stats. Levelling stats is a good way to instantly buff durability, mana pool, mana regen, health regen, and attack speed slightly. Armor doesn't get that much of a boost. If you're constantly getting ganked, levelling stats can help prevent that. One level of bonus stats grants an instant +40 HP which, in the early game can be the deciding factor between life and death, and in the mid game, can sometimes save you from being chipped to death.
Drow main here... getting Level 1 stats is actually viable with drow. the extra damage helps to last hit. but getting stats after level 1 is just pointless. also, if this player levelled up his E early with the stats, it would do a ton of damage.
that was me when i 1st started playing dota years ago. moving from mmorpg game where the stats is the most important, I bring the same mindset to dota. good days.
How do we submit replays btw? im sure you said somewhere but i havent seen. I ask because I just got out of a herald 3v5 game and immediately thought of your herald reviews lol
I think his logic behind not taking skill and his build is because he thinks auto-cast on first skill cannot be set off. He thinks every time he attacks, he will use a lot of mana. So he tries to big brain the game by not upgrading the skill at all and getting yasha and kaya for attack speed + mana(and spell amplification) XD
Skilling stats used to be a fairly popular thing in Dota 1. It's essentially a way to improve lasthitting and trading. Not super worth just going stats, but skilling lightnings+stats on lesh used to be the way to go
Man.. I remember my days learning how to play DotA in WC3 I would just buy the recipe and think I was buying the full item LOL My Abbadon would run the map thinking that he had a Sange and Yasha.. but it was just the recipe... hahahaha Good times

Believe it or not, this was actually a ligit build back in dota 1. Back then her 3rd skill is damage so you max stats and 3rd skill and skip frost arrow. Deals pretty insane damage lol
true that I always get my first passive at lv 7, that plus lots of iron branches to survive the heavy onslaught in the early phase, esp against gankers drow, dusa, sven, morph same old strat lmao. yeah i'm that old
I think he played Dota 1, there where some plays for Traxxex with helm of dominator and no frost arrow, just stats and ultimate. Back then there was this thing called Orb Effect, basically lifesteal from Helm didn't stack with other modifiers (it was carried even in dota 2 in the beginning).
For an almost 11 years old dota 1 player (thats me) playing before kunka exists, till 2018, IT WAS KIDDOSS A LEGIT pro strat and game play in some meta, in dota 1 or 2 that you cick 1 2 3 skills at 3 lvls and apart that, you always go for stats till lvl 12
I used to do this skill build couple of years back, coz the support used to farm the lane creeps, I used to get fed up and go jungle, then I realised this skill build, all stats and ulti, 1st quelling blade to cut trees and hit nc from hg then get mask and jungle more until i get couple of items to fight, it actually won few of them I think...

When Dota transitioned from reign of chaos (max level 10) to the frozen throne (max level 25), taking stats early/first wasn't that uncommon, but it was also a rather different game back then xD
Hi jenkins, i think this drow dude is from dota 1 because the way he went for attributes we used to put every level in attributes because in Dota 1 drow had skill true shot aura(passive) which increases drow's damage like hell like at lvl 10 drow used to have 150 damage with 3 wraith band. Bro forgot this is dota 2 😅
i used to do this on juggernaut back when talents were not introduced. i used to go 1 level bladefury, max crit, get omnislash when possible and max stats XD
im a Legend 4 player and i just learned through this video that you can level up stats . i mean i didn't even knew it was a thing . i legit feel ashamed that a Herald knows more than me
I remember some custom wc3 map called something like Ultimate Angel arena where you tried to create some epic hero and at some point buying stats was far more eficent, espesially agility, but there were like books for +100, passive % stun and vampiric auras always were op there, because you had like 10000 agility)))
Realistically speaking, even if Eistein have average mechanical skills, he's still slapping the living fk out of everyone just because of perfect calculations done in his head in real time. Remembering every single thing on it, specially the timings, being insane in last hitting even with ranged units, calculating the velocity of his projectile vs the enemies and the exact damage of each hit. Perfectly calculating the mana cost of his spells. Being able to tell if he'll survive with his current HP whenever the worse is gonna happen, etc.

Even before QoP max blink stats was very good tho with Helm of Dominator and that worked for Dota 1.

Drow was larping as a very large ranged creep
I feel like his build is based around his ult. Ult deals more damage from stats and the kaya is to amp the damage of ult arrows.
Bro forgot this is dota 2 😅
i used to do this on juggernaut back when talents were not introduced. i used to go 1 level bladefury, max crit, get omnislash when possible and max stats XD
im a Legend 4 player and i just learned through this video that you can level up stats . i mean i didn't even knew it was a thing . i legit feel ashamed that a Herald knows more than me
Well, we all doubt the drow until the rapier is almost working
I remember some custom wc3 map called something like Ultimate Angel arena where you tried to create some epic hero and at some point buying stats was far more eficent, espesially agility, but there were like books for +100, passive % stun and vampiric auras always were op there, because you had like 10000 agility)))
"my goal is beyond your understanding"
this feels like it was a social experiment in a psych ward
Realistically speaking, even if Eistein have average mechanical skills, he's still slapping the living fk out of everyone just because of perfect calculations done in his head in real time. Remembering every single thing on it, specially the timings, being insane in last hitting even with ranged units, calculating the velocity of his projectile vs the enemies and the exact damage of each hit. Perfectly calculating the mana cost of his spells. Being able to tell if he'll survive with his current HP whenever the worse is gonna happen, etc.
