I have got 3 5g mobile broadband a few months ago due to Virgin Media doubling their prices, my average speeds are around 500Mbs download and 80Mbs upload and it's costing me £20per month, I have their new ZTE MC801a WiFi 6 router, I also use a mesh system connected to the 3 router and I get uninterrupted WiFi around my house which is quite large. I would say that if you are a gamer then it may not be for you as the ping is higher than fixed broadband but still usable. So far I've not had any problems with the service. Good review from you.

Hi gave up on it last year. I had issues with signal, probabl because more households switched to 5G and the tower couldn't manage the high traffic. I went for fibre from Virgin and i do not regret it.
It doesn't especially if you would pay full price for the 5G router (it was a surprise to see £250 for Huawei one) and then unlimited 5G sim only from 3G - with today's prices that is like total cost of 24m contract £420 to £682. Even if someone would give you a router for free it is still not worth it with the prices they offer. But you made me think 🙂
I don’t think what i had before was fibre at all… still managed to get around 60mbps. Next week i’ll have proper fibre installed at the property and will be able to test it.
Just seen looking at their mobile broadband as I'm with Virgin and contract up for renewal it is over double what a new customer gets. I need something short term to tide me over. Any opinion on a short term broadband provider?
Hey 👋🏻 All of them tie you to 1.5-2 years contract. If you don’t need super fast speed, you can go for a pay as you go sim card and get a 4g/5g router. I tried it before just until they fitted the normal router but the connection was poor at my end. Maybe is different where you are. You might have better coverage.
No its not, I had a good connection using the ZTE 5g setup for about 6 months and now its completely unusable at peek times. Same old issue, they will have over sold it and now the hardware cant handle to throughput leaving the customers fed up and wanting to cancel.

Hello thanks for making this video. I'm thinking about getting the 3 home hub because I've just bought a ps5 and I want to be able to download all my games that are like 100gb some and more and I want to play online aswell will I be able to. I live in a small room bedsit and will only be me using the internet for my ps5 and my phone will it be ok. At the moment I'm paying 25pound a month for Giffgaff goody bag that gives 80gb data and then slows right down once you reach 80gb which I did in the first day I got my ps5 with a game my months data was just gone in hours. So do you recommend this will be good for what I need thank you if you reply
Hey 👋🏻 3 was fine at first, then a couple of months after, it started to slow down to the point where I couldn’t have a Teams meeting. It is all down to the strength of the signal and how busy it is in your area (if there are loads of people using 5G and if the tower has the capacity). I went back to fibre from Virgin and since day 1 it was way better than 3.
Well, 5G is not healthy. The radiation level is very high. If you have a 5G tower nearby, have a look at all the small labels on it… But it is up to you to decide, hope all works well 👍🏻
Depends where you live = coverage If you go for 5G, then the speed will fluctuate. It happened to me to get 400mbps and a couple of minutes later to drop to 7mbps pr even to drop connection completely. With Fibre, you get a constant speed (most of the time). I did cancel the 5G from Three and went for Virgin M500 - for me this was a great move. Virgin is more stable, but the modem coverage is crap so you will need to get a wifi extender if you live in a house and you want internet in the whole house, but i experienced this also with Three.
Hi. Our new build property still only has copper broadband. Will the 3 5g hub cover downstairs and upstairs? And is it a good replacement from sky copper broadband sky is only 13.4ms speed. I need it for downloading gaming and streaming? I just want stable connection. With faster speeds than we currently have do you recommend
Hello! The 5G I have from Three network, doesn't have a good coverage. It is placed upstairs and it is difficult to get decent signal downstairs, that's why I went for the wi-fi extender from TP Link. With this extender I can get nearly similar download speeds as I get on the normal 5G router.

Hi 👋 It is a good device. Don't know if the best as Three has good coverage but not that good signal. When i first got this router, the speed was nearly consistent, i could stream films and play online on the console, have 2 phones connected and some home devices. Now, the connection is not that stable. I am aware that in the area where i live, there is a project to change the antennas so probably this is the cause of the poor internet i get from time to time. There are times when the signal drops and it can take several minutes to connect again. This was not the case 2 months ago. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
Do all your devices need to be 5G enabled, I'm on Virgin M200 at the moment and I'm wondering if the latency is lower and if I can get better speeds then 200Mbps
No, I have smartphones that are not 5G enable and they work just fine, but this doesn't matter as the smartphone is connected via wi-fi. You can use the sim card on a 5G phone for 5G connectivity (if this is what you're referring to). At the moment, the speed fluctuates. It used to be over 250mbps but there is some work in my area and they're changing the antennas, this is why the connection is not as good as it used to be (but depends on the day. Also, it depends on the are you are. If the signal is strong enough or not. Hope this helps.
I’m using it currently and I consistently get around at least 200mbs. It does go higher many times but 200mbs is enough for me. And no you dont need a 5g enabled device
How os the coverage? I just got Virgin M500. I get 400-500 mbps bear the router; 15 feet away i get just over 100 and no internet upstair (well 0.06 mbps in a good day). The coverage is rubbish. Have you done any settings?
Hey man, I'm moving to a city center and the problem is theirs no fiber to my property. How does 5G compare for gaming especially the ping side? I'd appreciate any feedback or updates to now especially if you're living in Birmingham, West Midlands (not Al).
Hey dude! Online gaming is alright, didn't notice any drop in quality. On Stadia, the quality is better on 5G than on fibre. The download speed is great and downloading a game take s way less time than before. The downside is the upload speed. As i upload videos, it takes a bit longer to do it. West Midlands is alright with coverage, but you can check on Three's website. And if you move in a city centre, the coverage should be better.
Anything above 20mbps should be fine for online gaming as long as not competitive I played cod with just 4g for a while and would only lag if I was on my phone at the same time so 5G should be spotless for gaming
I get way much better speeds here in Nigeria! I love my country and I ain't emigrating to anywhere! I might telravel abroad for stuff but I am always coming right back here.We die here
Iv got this and the speed I get is excellent 380 to 410 mbps... i connected my PS5 download a game with in minutes. Played online street fighter, Takken and cod... excellent no problems at all, I then connect laptop, PC, and 3 phones to Netflix, prime video, UA-cam while all devices where playing, I connected my ps5 and played online I had no problems. Netflix on pc? Prime video on laptop, UA-cam on phones all playing at same time did not Lagg great signal.

@@UrReviewBuddy No not in the countryside im afraid! they have 're-bundled' copper wire to the exchange as 'essential fibre' rather than ADSL2 but its max throughput is still 12 Mbps! and you get about 6-11Mbps in reality! so 4G and when 5G hopefully comes solve the issue as you get about 30-40Mbps on 4G sim and modem!
@@UrReviewBuddy Those routers have both data and telephony served through same cable. Why would you plug your landline phone into a 5g router? What is the purpose?
Thanks for the review, I'm honestly waiting for someone to connect this up to a 5G antenna and see what results they get. I get 500mbps minimum on my 5G phone outside my home, a quality 5G antenna will take away the necessity of placing the CPE by the window... As the signal will come from the Antenna. But just waiting on someone to do this. I'd recommend you stay away from those boosters too, they are so bad budget wise and quality wise compared to a gigabit mesh network. You'll pick up a Deco M4 or M5 between £100-£150 for a 3 pack, they are so worth it and really provide coverage all around your home, I've set up 5 in mine as my house stretches quite abit as it is three floors. If you decide to plug in a 5G Antenna I'd watch again for sure. I'd recommend you buy the CPE pro seperate too, a virgin 5g sim only deal is £25 a month unlimited data, virgin runs of EE, so as long as EE have installed 5G masts your speed will be drastically higher both download and upload.
Thanks Adnan, i have to find a good antenna first. The booster is quite good for the price. It works well and covers 1 floor in the house. Will see how i can get an antenna and fit it and make it work ✌🏼
Just got the latest broadband 5G but its soooo disappointing. I can watch my firetstick but cant get Netflix or UA-cam. And its not very fast at all. Suppose to be over 2mbps. Im getting 38mb. So its an another joke with shit speeds just like TalkTalk i was previously with. 😡😡😡
Think you need to consider the individual parameters before you make statements like that. Having just moved home, I was forced BY BT toouse EE for my mobiles by BT, as they're moving all mobiles after their EE acquisition. Landline here is abysmal,
It’s all about the coverage and where the antenna is placed. Right in the middle of the town i get around 200 mbps but if i walk 15 minutes to the field where i walk the dog, i get over 300 mbps. Weird

@@underratedgod8735 no. wtf is it with these people so clueless. check ping rates thats all, if steady under 30 its good
So guys have you tried streaming TV and working/surfing. Notice any issues?
Tried it, works with no issues
For £30 1GB/s download and Upload speed. Constantly high speed. 5G can beet it.
nice one
Thanks
My phone has 5g & the hotspot reaches all rooms. Though if there's more people in your house you may want something like this.
My hotspot is actually good as well, but this 5G broadband is good only on 1 level… 🤦🏻♂️
I get way much better speeds here in Nigeria! I love my country and I ain't emigrating to anywhere! I might telravel abroad for stuff but I am always coming right back here.We die here
What speed do you get there? 5G or fibre?
Mbps not MBps. But I enjoyed the video nevertheless
🤦🏻♂️ yep, rookie mistake… I learnt the hard way
So many make the mistake - a pet hate of mine
Are these routers locked to 1 network
I don’t think so because you have to put in the sim card. But I didn’t try with a different one.
Is it limited or unlimited?
Unlimited download and upload
Iv got this and the speed I get is excellent 380 to 410 mbps... i connected my PS5 download a game with in minutes. Played online street fighter, Takken and cod... excellent no problems at all, I then connect laptop, PC, and 3 phones to Netflix, prime video, UA-cam while all devices where playing, I connected my ps5 and played online I had no problems. Netflix on pc? Prime video on laptop, UA-cam on phones all playing at same time did not Lagg great signal.
Sounds good! Looks like it depends on how the coverage is.
@@UrReviewBuddy you need 5g signal
Yep, got better signal on the fields than at home 😅
Brilliant thank you reading this comment just answered all my questions I also just got a ps5 and need beter internet then Giffgaff 80gb data that I'm using at the moment and I blitzed the lot in a few hours so I need this home hub thing definitely
mate when I am only offered 12Mbps in the countryside on so called 'fibre' 250 Mbps is insane haha
Sheeeeeesh!
I thought fibre is nearly the same everywhere…
@@UrReviewBuddy No not in the countryside im afraid! they have 're-bundled' copper wire to the exchange as 'essential fibre' rather than ADSL2 but its max throughput is still 12 Mbps! and you get about 6-11Mbps in reality! so 4G and when 5G hopefully comes solve the issue as you get about 30-40Mbps on 4G sim and modem!
They did that unfortunately, but now Virgin has proper fibre and it works well 👍🏻
What is the phone port used for on 5g router?
As every router has, this is used to plug in a home phone ☎️
@@UrReviewBuddy Those routers have both data and telephony served through same cable. Why would you plug your landline phone into a 5g router? What is the purpose?
They give an option. There are people still using landlines.
I bet your going to doube and triple check your "bits of Bytes" the time ;)
yes, you are correct :))))
It's not that good I have one if these boxes and can't wait till the contract ends so I can get a better broadband provider
If they don’t deliver what they promised, you can end the contract
Mega Bits Per Second NOT Megabytes Per Second
Yea, i learned that the hard way, thanks
Will see how i can get an antenna and fit it and make it work ✌🏼
Have you managed to find an antenna? Am I also looking at setting up an external antenna to improve speeds
Hey! I found one from TP-Link for £60 and another one from Huawei for £180. I am waiting to see discounts on the Huawei one.
Virgin are O2 Now
@@mk4reala965 I thought they'd moved onto Vodafone now but I'm not 100% sure! Asda have also moved to Voda and Plusnet too I believe?
Just got the latest broadband 5G but its soooo disappointing. I can watch my firetstick but cant get Netflix or UA-cam. And its not very fast at all. Suppose to be over 2mbps. Im getting 38mb. So its an another joke with shit speeds just like TalkTalk i was previously with. 😡😡😡
Three are cheaper bwcause their connection is rubbish in comparison to Vodafone and EE
Weird
Why doesnt the hub 3 logo 🤔
What do you mean?
Light up maybe? Yeah, logo doesn't light up:-)
compared to any fixed line broadband I had three home broadband is way way better
04:30 20 MegabIIIIt per second but nnt megabYte per second
if there is no differnce for there so no sense to broadcast this at all and mislead people
Yes, i know now; i learned it the hard way 😅
Fibre to 5G is not upgrade 😣
It is the future 🤣😁
@@UrReviewBuddy I will never consider 5G if I have true fibre (gigabit fibre). If there is no such option, but DSL or slow cable Internet, maybe 5G is the only way to go
Can barely find true fibre, but i get what you mean
@@shukuist123 Yes exactly, in the area I live the fastest fibre I can get is 36mbs, so I opted for the 5g option instead. In any other case I would’ve gone with true fibre
I just ended the relationship with my 5G broadband provider.
I went for Virgin 500 fibre but their routers are crap. Can’t get signal upstairs… 🤦🏻♂️
speed is measured in megabits not megabytes please learn that
👍🏻
Yes. Annoying that people make these videos and don't even understand the difference between bits and bytes.
Yes, but i am learning everyday.
Thanks for your support! 👍🏻
this is really unlclear when you are talking about coverage
02:40 - the unit is placed on the first floor and does a good job to cover the area; once i go downstairs (as i live in a house, maybe in an apartment is better) i have to connect using the wi-fi extender as the coverage is not that good.
mega BITs per second...
Yep 😅
I’ve been told several times
Sorry
awsome
👍👍👍
No Google services with this Huawei made device. No G-mail, no UA-cam and no Google Drive. Why don't either reviewers or 3Mobile mention this???
What do you mean? This is just the wireless router. You can access gmail, google drive, or other google service from your device. This has nothing to do with the block on Huawei as it doesn’t run on Android.
@@UrReviewBuddy I must have confused what you are showing with the 3Mobile Huawei broadband hub. Never mind 🤣
What the hell are on about? Just installed one of these 5g hubs, everything you mentioned works fine, plus it's fast enough to view HD videos on both Sky and UA-cam
Dude, do NOT confuse Magabits and Megabytes!
😭 yea… I’ve been told multiple times now
Thanks anyway 👍🏻
