You make great videos my friend! Also, thanks for the mention! Great job on all the pronunciation in this video, I was impressed... but also kind of discouraged because I can barely pronounce my own name lol. I am happy you were also pleasantly surprised by these mics! They really are better than they should be 🤣 RIP Dale, I am sad to hear he is no longer with us.
Very sad. He left his positive mark on the community. Was that blue in that screen cap? And i hope you make more of those types of vids. That was the most fun mic related video i think ive ever seen! After we chatted i went and got some nice broll and proceeded to accidentally delete it. 🤦♂️
@@meistudiony Actually it was my colleague contacted you and he shared this video with me. He was so surprised that how all-round and high quality this video is. Thank you for the effort and keep it up!
Thanks for the opportunity to test these out. Pretty crazy what $35 can get you. We are going to be using them again for our budget mic challenge which we should have out next month!
Great Video, as always! I had mentioned it before, but I'll say it again: MKBHD's quote about phones also applies here. Good tech is getting cheap and cheap tech is getting good. Can you get better sounding gear for more cash? Absolutely. But on a budget these sound perfectly fine. And if you need 5-10+ mics (for whatever reason), well FiFine seems to be a solid choice!
Yeah, i have to agree on all point. I do think the condenser sounds a bit more full to me. The dynamic on voice isn't bad, but its VERY bright (brighter than the condenser which is wild to me). Thanks for the comment! Appreciate you watching!
Im impressed. The dynamic was clean on his vocals, and it did very well on the piano, which I didnt think would go so well. At $35 each, a kid could mic a whole band on a seriously low budget and still make a nice record. While it wasnt quite as clean as the Heil pr40 you previously demoed, it was a STRONG contender for a fraction of the price. Id love to see a battle between them. Also with the "new mic" that I'm assuming you'll have coming in the mail soon 😉
We just recorded a jazz band (3pc bass piano and drums) with a total mic cost of about $500. Then we recorded them with a total mic cost of a little over $6k. The difference was eye opening… we really don’t need crazy expensive mics to make a good recording. Should be releasing that video soon. And yeah.. got a few cool things comin in soon 😉
@@meistudiony awesome! When I was a kid, my drum mentor always said that all you really needed was a bucket of sm57 mics, a well tuned drumset, and a sound guy who knew how to mix. He had a valid point. But they're just so long and clumsy looking on toms.🤣🤣🤣 So I was recently telling one of the Audio Technica reps I bought a spaced pair of Heil PR31BW for overheads and loved them for studio but didn't want to scratch them up on gigs, and he asked me to try their dynamic 2040 pod mic on a full drum kit. They're small and under $100 each, and according to him, they can equally handle the high spl's. But $100 each (x8 mics) isn't what I consider a budget drum mic set. Those little fifine you showed are more like it for gigs. If I break one, I replace it for less than a steak dinner. I subscribed so I wont miss your video when it comes out. Im binge watching and really enjoying your content. Happy new year 🎉
@@JasonWelchMusic Thanks for the great comment! Appreciate it! And yeah, your drum mentor isnt wrong. (heck even a 57 is $100/ea these days) I was honestly VERY surprised at how these mics sounded. We have an up coming video where we recorded a jazz band using nothing but budget mics. The mics we had on the kit were less than $200... IN TOTAL (Kick, snare, 2 toms and a pair of overheads). The "challenge" was to use no mic that was more than $100. Things are getting really interesting with what is getting put out for very little money! Glad you're diggin the channel! Welcome aboard!
Would these be weird on drums as a budget entry level type thing?Curious why they weren’t tried….cuz you only had one of each (dyn and cond)? Hurray for the return to the I chord! 😂
They might be ok for overheads (the condensers). The dynamic is VERY bright and being theres no pad on either of the mics, clipping was pretty much assured for drums. I could have put an inline pad, but that wouldnt stop the mic from clipping. And yeah… we got back to 1! Lol

High quality video!!
Thanks for the opportunity to try out these mics! Very eye opening that you dont have to spend a ton of $ to get a decent result!

Thanks for watching! 🙂
I love my k669d, the sound for the price is fantastic. I recently released a video where I customized a k669d. It came out pretty cool.
