I just got mine today, 2 days after I ordered it. $75.00. It is a true work of craftsmanship. You don't see this kind of carpentry nowadays. It reminded me of my days in my dad's carpenter shop. Everything came assembled and Ron even threw in a new fuel tank. I was about to throw away 60 bucks on some piece of junk from amazon when I stumbled onto this review. Thanks Darrell for the extensive review. Can't wait to show my RC buddies at the next club meeting. Pete
Just purchased the Large Stand from Ron. Amazing quality and craftsmanship. I sent him an email after getting it, letting him know that this is truly a genius innovative product and the work is amazing. Do yourself a favor and email Ron, you will not regret it.
I've got one of Ron's test stands also, the smaller one, and everything in this video is spot-on! Excellent craftsmanship, and excellent value. I use it for diagnosing balky engines, breaking in new engines. Indenspensible tool if you're really into R/C. The largest engine I've ran in mine is a SuperTigre G2300 (1.4 cu.in) with no problems whatsoever... absolutely rock solid! Great engine test stand!!!
I bought one of the large size recently quality is amazing and the order was filled extremely fast! This is the last stand you ever need. Price was $110 + $13 shipping Priorty Mail.
Wow I don't know anything about planes but race RC nitro off road buggy and truggy. I would love to see how Mr. Sextons would modify this design to accommodate a .21 - .28 slide carb nitro engine. I purchased a poorly engineered bench made from a European company and had to rework it from the start because it was designed originally for on road engines. I prefer to break in my own engines and use the stand. Any chance Ron may interested in producing a quality bench for the off road rc racing enthusiast ? I will shoot you an email with my info. Thanks for the review and hats off to the talent behind the tools. A functioning work of art!
@@feltav5719 Yeah, there's a small pushrod linkage that connects from the carb to that exhaust baffle. Honestly, I'm not sure that it actually does much of anything, but it is kind of neat.
@@darrellwhite302 I agree 100%. Well I had engines for ucontrol which I used something similar... But on the carb. Covering and uncovering it haha.worked like a charm.
Hi, Darrel. I like your video and the review of the test stands. I also like the left smaller one. Could you point me to the "name and marking" of this particular stand so I would be able to find it online. Specially i am interested in finding it in Europe. Would you have any idea where and if they are offered also for European market? Best regards from Belgium, Mat
Hello Mat, Thanks, very much appreciated! Both of these stands were custom made here in the US by an RC hobbyist, his name is Ron Sexton. He just made these in small quantities to order so they won't really be found anywhere online. His email address is: rsexton@charter.net if you'd like to try to get in touch with him that way. I'm not sure if he still makes these anymore or not as it's been a few years since I've last spoken with him.
Hi Darrell, thanx for the info. I send the initial mail to Mr. Saxton but mail got back with undelivered message. Still I got info that someone was able to "get through" so I am trying again with second mail. Nice wokr and shame to just let it go....it got so many positive feedbacks from RC community.
The only info I have is his contact info shown on the video. Other than that, I'm not too sure if he still makes them as it's been a long time since I've spoken to him, and not sure if the contact info is current.
all the video i see you guys start those engine so easily ! XD and im here waking my harm off with my engine that never start XD .. well it started once and then iv never been able to start it again :( still what is the metalish thing in your tube between the tank and the carburator that u have ?
Gas, diesel, or nitro, which is best for cruising and running longest on a full tank of fuel. Building a long range fpv. I always test flight when they're halfway done to see if the design will fly and is worth finishing. It flies stellar. But after some math ill only have a half hour of flight on battery I want to run fuel engine with light weight fuel and high efficiency at cruising speed....
Just Spoke with Ron, ordered Stand for My Saito Engines, really Great looking Stands. thanks, Bob
Just ordered mine! Looks like some real craftsmanship went into this stand!
I'm happy to say that I've got the large stand coming. Thanks Ron for the prompt great service.

right mounting bolt will interfere with muffler on smaller engines.
Great video
ordered mine yesterday -- Thanks
Thanks for the awesome review. What was the size of the piece of wood that you added to the bottom for clamping in the workmate?
The clamping piece was the length of the stand approximately by about 3” wide x 1” thickness.

Where is the video of the gas powered test stand?
Whats that u control engine in the begining? I love the rpm control love it
It's actually an RC engine. It's a McCoy .35 Blue Head (Lightning Bolt) that I had restored a long time ago.
@@darrellwhite302 that is amazing. And you control the rpms through that exhaust baffle right? It's amazing

It's a In-line Fuel Filter.
That's a filter
