Tony is an empath hitter, i believe he could feel the emotion of the pitcher and know what pitch the pitcher may throw. Hes such a legend. Everyone should watch him and Ted Williams talk hitting if you havent seen it
I'm a lifelong Yankees fan from the Bronx. But I lived in San Diego for 10 years. And I rooted as hard as I could for the Padres in the 1998 Series. Anthony Keith Gwynn was the number one reason.
I got this video when I was 15 years old and was trying to improve my swing. It's weird to watch it now, knowing Tony Gwynn passed. And I'm sitting here remembering the good times watching Tony Gwynn when I was a kid and he was smiling. I'm not even exaggerating, I must've watched this video at least one hundred times from beginning to end. Bitter sweet.
Dude, Tony Gwynn had 9,288 at bats in his 20 year baseball career, he struck out an amazing 434 times, how many Big leaguers can say he stuck out once every 21 times at bat.

Tony grabs the newspaper to see whos pitching that day he said. How about that, different times indeed
I love this vid and how corny it is but also so informative. Ranks 2nd only to Ted Williams' instructional vid
Tony said that hes had guys come up to him ans ask what a pitcher throws even tho theyve faced the pitcher 10, 12, 14 times 😂

My grandma got me this video set when I was a kid. Tony Gwynn was & will forever be my favorite!
R.I.P. TONY. You will never be forgotten.

RIP Tony Gwynn (1960-2014)
Greatest contact hitter that ever played, his stats are beyond amazing also.. there will never be a player like him again, no debate.

Best contact hitter ever. Others like Carew, Brett and Molitor were great contact hitters as well. But Tony Gwynn was just amazing.
Tony..que gran.bateador..👉🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖🎖👉🏆
Gwynn is all about putting the ball in play. Most players are contact hitters. Few players have the ability to be power hitters.
Most players don't hit .338 over 20 years. Most players don't win 8 batting titles.

Watching player tutorials and "coaches" videos on how to hit have millions of views. They all learned from TG19, its a damn shame...
