Thank goodness you had those rain covers made, we all know you’ll get those leaks fixed one day when the weather is in your favour. Enjoying the reality of boat life exposed, with a positive outlook.
Thanks so much! Sometimes we feel like we started the channel a bit early.. like maybe it’s not much of an adventure.. but really for us it is. We are so glad to share what the day to day of boat life looks like and hearing from all of you is the cherry on top!
If when you are done finding all the patches, fillers and areas that need worked on, They do have UV paint for roofs that could, if the rain stops, keep the interior of the boat just that little bit cooler in the summer.
Ive had many leaks like yourself , ive tried silicone but tends to just sit on top of the problem and soon leaks again ,was given a bottle of seak and seal its a liquid that flows in the smallest holes like the water and since using been leak free over a year now ,
Hope you are both well. It’s always good to get the jobs done asap, then you can enjoy the boat and maybe do a bit of travelling. Well, I have a load of wood coming Tuesday, for the first major bit of my fitout, so let’s hope the rain keeps off until I get that inside. I hear you had a bit of fire excitement at Sawley in the week. ;-) Richard
Yeah, people are saying so but we didn’t hear or see anything! Going to go find out now though!😅 ah, the rain!! On off on off.. could it just go away!!!✋🏻✋🏻✋🏻
@@MelandPaulMunro Yes, bloody rain. I'm at the boat today. Was hoping to get a weather-proof frame sorted around the hatch but can't at the moment, so I'll continue to cut the high spots of foam (boring job) in readiness for my secondary battening, next week. Here's a link to the fire fiasco www.nottinghampost.com/news/local-news/gallery/dramatic-fire-breaks-out-boat-5407538
Spring (as in the early messenger of Summer) is definitely dragging it's heels this year! But long, hot wind-free days WILL come and you will cruise knowing all those pesky jobs are done.
Hi Mel Paul, hope you are both well and ok ,Mel you could have invited me for dinner it look great was that lemon you squeeze on your mushrooms ? Not seen that one before,,Paul have you found the problem with the leak I have never seen a leak in the cutter before I guess it might be a bad welding who knows but good luck finding it ,interesting blog till next time take care keep safe,John 👀🌹🥂🌈❤️🌈
Hmm, was that area on the roof by the handrail a scab of loose filler? You might want to examine that loose "scab" sooner rather than later. Hopefully it's not concealing a "larger than you thought it was" rusted patch which has been filled and painted over to sell the boat. Could be more of a job that you thought/expected/hoped it is. Might have been (speculation alert) a load of leaves lying on the roof for years if the previous owner had neglected to clean them off on occasion. Paint might be fairly resistant to plant acids but not for ever. (Mine was like that and it looked like the roof had the measles, only in "brown" ... Had it repainted "professionally" but the roof is again showing signs of rust spots coming through.) Thanks for episode of course ... will we see the paint scab coming off anytime soon? I'm hoping that episode won't get x rated for language ... 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 yeah we haven’t tackled it all yet! But yeah there are quite a few patches that we need to see to, just waiting for a weekend without rain! It’s definitely just neglect - no one put any effort into the boat to try sell it😂🙄 and of course, you’ll surely see it all as we go🙌🏻👍🏻
munro? hmm, are you from nz? and are you related to the famous burt munro who had the worlds fastest indian motorcycle? as in the old guy with the indian 125 that burt took to the us salt flats to see how fast it would go. :-)
Ah another hat must be "The laundry hat" ....no smart girl like Mel should be without one but only "Elle" or "Vogue" hat will do or at a pinch "Burberry" or "Gucci "but Gucci has become so common and down market these days Because Mel is the epitome of Chic boating little danger she will slip up . Happy leak less cruising in gorgeous sunny weather with gourmet dining fine wines and a glass of Van der Hum to end the day. Cheers from Canada
😂Ralph! The day I can afford Gucci is the day we buy a bigger boat😂😂 I’ll let you in on a secret - the hats are sometimes also code for (cover up a bad hair day)😉 your comments make me smile! Wishing you a super weekend✌🏻🧡
