Welcome to what will probably be the most special video I ever upload!!! Barney is our 8 week old golden retriever puppy that we are so in love with already! I know a lot of you will known I have wanted a little golden puppy for forever and we were always waiting until we had the perfect house before getting him. This is not an impulse purchase or a lockdown puppy, this has been a long time coming, and he's perfect! He was from a litter of ten and he was born on 22nd November 2020. He even has his very own TikTok and Instagram set up too as do a lot of his brothers and sisters so if you want to follow along Barney's journey into adulthood, you can find him at:

It's really annoying to see people bashing someone they don't even know for going to a breeder instead of a shelter. Yes it's always good to adopt when you can but it should be your personal choice not forced upon you just because others condemn you for going to a breeder. Not everyone can adopt a dog I should know, I've tried adopting two dogs but was denied because of my fence height as someone previously said. Shelters in my area have nearly impossible standards which make it hard to adopt. Quit bashing someone for THEIR choice. If you don't like it move along.
Adorable Barney.❤️ We have had golden retrievers for 12 yrs. Brother and Sister Ollie and Purdy. Unfortunately we lost Purdy last year😢 Ollie is the most adorable loveable dog ever. Everybody loves him. He has his fluffy toy which he loves.......warning he did chew tails and leg off original toy and swallowed🤪 resulted in an operation. He is fine and has a new toy (IKEA) doggy which he carries around with him. We did cut the tail off just in case. Enjoy Barney he will make you laugh and cry🤣🤣. 😘

brought a tear to my eye ❤ he's absolutely perfect 🐶 I own a 16yr old Weimaraner, I got him at 8 weeks old ❤ dogs are such loving & devoted pets, great at keeping you fit too 😆 with lots of long walks! I wish you all many years of fun & happiness with your adorable little boy 💙

Possibly one of the most common misconceptions about dogs and their tails is that a wagging tail always means that they’re happy.
Although this is likely, it’s not always the case.
This can cause much confusion for people who look for a wagging tail as the means of deciding whether a dog is friendly or not.
Rather than a sign of friendliness, a wagging tail should be viewed as a sign of willingness to interact. Essentially, a tail wag means that the dog is open to interaction, rather than trying to be friendly.

Oh Freya, Barney is absolutely precious! 😍 He will be a fabulous fit for you and Tom as you love your long walks. When I first left home, aged 18, I lodged with a husband and wife who owned two golden retriever boys, they were the most adorable dogs - in fact it's the only breed that the couple had owned, during their 30 years of having dogs! Barney was so cute when he saw himself in the mirror. 😍 I know you and Tom will be a brilliant mummy and daddy to little Barney, and I can't wait to follow his journey on his Instagram page, and obviously in your video's too. Hi freya watched your video this morning . Crying . Let me explain . I am so happy for you that you have barney he is so beautiful. And I wish you years of happiness with him . I had a golden retriever named jenny for 12 and a half years . She passed away in march . I am still so broken hearted . I got her at 8 weeks as well . She was the same colour as barney . . They are so loveable and loyal and the best breed around children. Also they are so clever. Please have a great life with her . But just remember you are now living in her house lol . He is absolutely gorgeous and from one pooch owner to another he will bring you lots of fun and joy. Only concern is that we are in lockdown and the whole essential journeys only has gone straight out the window. Travelling that far is not allowed. People are being fined for doing less length of journeys.

Aw Barney is so cute , we had a golden retriever ,Cooper from 10 weeks old to almost 13 years old we still miss him . They really become part of the family.

So happy for you both a new life to cherish. Just one piece of advice, don't ask insta or you tube for advice you will get a thousand different replies, go to the breeder or your vet. This is from someone 38 years owning dogs. JJ

Oh my goodness Freya he loved you both straight away, the way he snuggled on Mummy's lap then crawled over to Daddy when you were in the car. Barney is gorgeous I am also a doggie lover and he is so blooming cute and adorable. He also seems to have totally settled so well in your lovely home.

Absolutely gorgeous we wish we had a golden lab but we had a black Labrador who moults so bad golden don’t same family as retriever, we had him from 8 weeks he’s 10 this yr and he’s been a nightmare but started calming down as he’s getting older. He ate the walls in the kitchen, tore up countless beds they tear things apart it’s typical of the breed. Make sure you get proper training they are naughty but wouldn’t be without him. Enjoy 💖💖

Awww...he's too cute for words Freya! I love the name Barney as well. He's gonna be a big boy! You will find that as a new fur mama he will just consume your whole world now and you'll constantly worry about him day & night. That's what happened to us when we first got our (now going to be 8 yr. old) pink, white, & black hairless Chinese Crested who loves to sleep in between us in the bed. She never used to do that before bcuz she had her own crate, but my husband caved and let her sleep with us one night...after that the rest was history. I’ve got a two year old fox red lab called pepper. It takes me back to bringing him home. Peppers best friend is a golden retriever. They play so well continuously for hours. They just seem to know they’re on a level so maybe that’s a suggestion for your next baby. Barney is precious, golden retrievers are wonderful dogs, intelligent and loving and so friendly. Enjoy him as before you know it he’ll be BIG xx
