“It didn't seem to go over too well with his agent who sounded off on social media that he didn't seem particularly pleased with the process. Daniels thought it would be a visit for just him, but Washington essentially opened up the process. The Commanders are going through it after this week when again, I think it’s a situation where, from the outset, Jayden Daniels has had interest in being other places. He just has! Now the interest is, what do the Commanders do about that?”

People are saying JD will get hurt because he doesn't know when to slide. Yeaa the guy can run and he's athletic, but he's going to get injured with that small frame trying to out-run and break through the defense. I can see it happening.
They said the same thing about him in college but he was fine. They said the same thing about Randal Cunningham and he was fine. He is not a child and very tough. He will grow into his man and be OK. Find a better reason than he will get hurt because plenty of slim build players dont get hurt because they are just tough. I and many others have seen bigger softies get laid out and not come back but this guys comes back at you. Dont hold your breath thinking this man is going to break to pieces like RGIII.

If Jayden Daniels doesn't want to play for Washington then Drake Maye is the best choice.
As a raiders fan I’m conflicted but it depends on what we would give up but i was always willing to trade up but it has to be worth it for both parties and if it was to trade either adams or Crosby it would not be worth it for the raiders
you can tell its lying season, but if JD and his agent are upset because it wasn't all about him then let him walk away, this is a team sport, and his agent should get fired if he is that sensitive. but yet no one made a stink when Patriots did this or the 9ers and other teams, this was simply a character test to see how they react to another player soon to be teammates. The issue here is his camp hasnt came out and dusspelled the rumor right away. Maybe this Top Golf trip was a way for the Commanders to test JDs attitude about doing things that he may be asked to do outside of Foitball. I say do what you feel Peters, I trust you.

I see a couple of possibilities here. Either this is a coordinated game of misdirection between Washington and the Daniels camp or the group meet went badly for Daniels and he and his agent are being proactive about their excuses for why he wasn't taken #2. I think it's most likely the latter.
You keep saying best fit. We haven't seen the offense play one down. We don't know what this offense will look like. We have an idea based on OC. If JD's panties are in a wad then he's not the best fit. Full stop.
I am a fan Of JD no doubt because the man takes care of the ball and runs like a deer. We don't want cry babies on our team. He is tough when it comes to the game but looks like he is soft when it comes to his personal feelings. We know he is young but nobody loves a Cry-Baby. At least we know what we are looking at. So smart for them to do this group meeting. It showes us what type of person he is on the inside and that matters big at the NFL level. His agent is his mouth piece. Unless the agent went rogue, then Jayden would've come out immediately himself and corrected it, then possibly fire his agent. He didn't do that. It's pretty obvious at this point that Jayden doesn't want to be drafted by Washington. Probably the rumors about Jayden not liking Adam Peters are true.
@robertb67 as long as Washington can cut that check is all that matters, and if his agent is his mouth piece and mess up his chances of getting that #2 drafted pick money if I was JD I would have a problem with that! Will still haven't heard something from JD's camp!
I think the best way to deal with the situation is to take advantage of the #2 overall pick and take the generational talent wide out reciever Marvin Harrison Jr and draft a QB in the late round like Spencer Rattler or Joe Milton. At least that way you get a guaranteed weapon and a legit QB you can develop in the long run.
There's just no point in wasting a high pick on a QB that doesn't want to be on the team or just doesn't fit. Word has it - They are not exactly in love with any of those top 1st round QB prospects anyway.

Adam Peters is learning what happens when He speaks out of place, with people he may need to work with in the future~ We'll see what Daniel's decides to do. You don't spend the #2 pick on a player that doesn't want anything to do with your team. Unless, you already have a trade in place with a team that he does want to go too.
This seems like an overreaction from JD and I question is the rumor based on fact or is it planted by a team that is interested in drafting JD.

I understand what Washington did was so dumb having multiple QBs at the same time for a visit especially since probably 2 of them they are not even thinking about drafting. Daniels needs to grow up though, it’s a business and to not want to play for them is childish. That said, Washington needs to wine, dine, tuck Daniels into bed, and read him a story or whatever it takes to make him happy to play here.
For all the people saying don't draft him because he don't wanna play with the team sounds crazy. 100 percent of the college prospects come out of college and go to the worst team simple there's no way around it. There play on the field is there resume
I’m not completely convinced that Daniels’ preference is to be somewhere else. I think it might be his agent’s idea.
Regardless, though, if Daniels can’t step up and publicly say that he’s completely okay with the idea, I’d let him go. He might be the best choice for the team, but I really don’t think he’s all THAT special.
Getting him here with a poor attitude brings back memories of Donovan McNabb and I really don’t think that a guy who’s going to ride the bench for a year and then go to another team is a wise choice.
Personally, I’d pick McCarthy, but I seriously doubt they’re going to take him. The trade-down idea would be great, if it happened to work, but I think it’s risky, so I’d probably just pick him at #2.
