I'm just whining about Disney, but I'm always happy when we get Legends content videos. 80s and 90s Star Wars was MY Star Wars, and the lore that I, as a Star Wars nerd, struggled to master, even when I failed, and while I am not totally sure that Legacy Ghost Luke felt like he had received that kevel of enlightenment, while conversing with Cade, it's still really cool to get more glimpses of the Grandmaster Luke I remember, from so long ago, before the dark times...before a Mickey was slipped to the fandom.
All the accolades you said about Luke at the beginning were true. Unfortunately, Disney didn't share fans' opinions of him. Disney ruined Luke Skywalker and the legacy characters.
Maybe they'll revive him as a woman for no goddamm reason 😂

Yeah. What Disney did was baffling. However, pretty much everything after the first Rogue Squadron novels in the original canon was profoundly stupid. Disney has zero chance of matching "Legends", in terms of awful storytelling.
Legends is canon to me, the Disney trilogy is not. I love EU and Legends Luke, he is way cooler than the Disney version. Disney can only ruin Luke and all the other characters if you accept the new trilogy as canon.

EU Luke still retains the same personality and motives as OT Luke. Luke and Harry Potter has the same disease: Save-people-itis and that’s the core of their characters and why fans fell in love with them. Take that characteristic away from them, they are no longer the characters we love and know.
Maybe one day, Disney in their minute wisdom, will declare the Sequel Trilogy as what ifs, and adapt the EU into true canon.
Disney Luke gave up on the Force and himself for decades. Any Luke is better than that Luke.

Not an excuse to defend Disney but I think the company wanted to continue this version of Luke Skywalker, but without the EU influences. Then they hired Kathleen Kennedy and Rian, and that all went down the drain.
Still blame Disney but also I blame mostly Kathleen Kennedy. Personally I feel like she wants to ruin all of George Lucas characters and creations.

I assume that you’re referring to The Last Jedi and if so, I disagree. He went out a total bad ass, standing off against the might of the First Order and buying time for his friends in the Resistance to escape. I agree there were problems with that movie, but I don’t think that sequence was one of them

In my head nothing Disney has done with Luke or any of the original cast ever happened. As far as I'm concerned this is cannon and whatever nonsense Disney has done to Luke, Leia or anyone else is just a bad dream. I hope one day someone comes a long and retcons the last few years almost in totality.

Glad they didn’t tell legends Luke death left it to interpretation to me I figured he die peacefully like Yoda with friends and family at his side sending him off while Anakin,Mara,Old Ben and Yoda force ghost well come him to the force.

It would be wonderful to see a reboot of star wars (not by Disney, but by a team of interesting and diverse writers) and see a new take and sequence of events on this "chosen one" story. Lucas wrote for concerns of war and imperialism, we still have concerns about that, and a new generation could make an awesome retelling.

Forgive me if George Lucas has already confirmed that Anakin was, indeed, the Chosen One...but, damn, it sure seems like Legends Luke should have that title, and not merely "...the Chosen One's second chance".

My personal take on the matter is that Anakin WAS the Chosen One, but forfeited his claim to the title upon his fall (which also permanently crippled him in the Force).
The title and claim passed to his son, not even yet born.
Anakin's destiny was indeed fulfilled, bringing balance to the Force.... By saving his son in those crucial moments aboard the second Death Star.

Loved reading these books way back when. Only one I can really recall vividly though is Darksaber. The Imperial Remnant 'Death Star III' that was essentially just the firing chamber makes a lot more sense to me than the Disney sequel's Starkiller base.

Would say that it is the philosophical death of Luke as he finally loses all of his remaining queries about the force and its mysteries. Becoming one with the force and releasing that the force is everything. Allowing him to finally put down his burdens and go quietly in graceful retirement as he deserves after everything he has done for the galaxy.

It's good to see Disney used all this legends material when making the sequel trilogy. They totally didn't just throw together a bunch of hot garbage sprinkled in with a nostalgia hit here and there, then proceeded to systematically disrespect and ruin the original trilogy characters for lolz and to make their new characters look good in comparison for petty reasons.

I wish they would’ve made the sequels closer to Episode 6 and show how Luke did Fail with Ben but then Come to his senses and live to have an arc like this training Rey and Ben together killing the Emperor and Then Abeloth Or maybe the Emperor and Them team up to defeat Abeloth

This is more of an acceptable "ending" for Luke Skywalker than that dreadful woke monstrosity that Kathleen Kennedy brought into Disney. It's a shame how someone could single handedly be allowed to destroy such a monumental cinematic treasure. Maybe, just maybe one day someone who has a vision more along the likes of George Lucas, will come and "restore balance" to a once thriving franchise and give it,..."A NEW HOPE."

Without chaos there is no harmony. Peace without any type of turmoil or change is stagnant, based on a lie and probably forced by a tyrant. It leads to entropy via apathy and as the main characters well recognized it in KOTOR 2, apathy is death.
The maintenance of energy and life requires creation, expansion, development and progress in various forms which is impossible without chaos. Harmony is achieved through the process, not outside of it.
