Riot has been depreciating their utility for what they cost. Games have gotten faster so item gold is at a premium. Scanner has been buffed a few times. People have gotten better at clearing them for free gold.

@@theincreate7520 There's this weird thing that sometimes happens top where a Lee Sin will use a pink to hop to kill me and I just shrug it off. I mean, he paid 75 gold to kill me so only got 225 and I'm going to get gold off it once I make it to lane then clear it further deflating it's value. An Inting Scion or something would probably make a net gain off the things. Which is just funny.

Everytime my opponent places a pink ward I can clear it almost immediately, then they buy another, rinse and repeat as they fall behind in gold.
