I am also Indian but we ourselves lost to the people of thst God and the Indian wzy of life was full of cruelty, racism and dishonesty - why else are so many Indians leaving their 'wonderful' homeland??!!! no matter how intellectual you are, you will NEVER succeed against the God of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac.

This cherry-picking quasi-historian conveniently forgets to mention that Nalanda University and other contemporary sister Buddhist educational institutes were initially systematically deteriorated by the then Sena dynasty of Bengal. In fact, Nalanda experienced multiple plunderings throughout its nearly 700 years of history. The final blow, however, was delivered by Hindu Brahmin pandits due to their staunch rivalry with Buddhist pandits. In the book 'Aspects of Indian History and Civilization,' the writer Buddha Prakash clearly stated that 'Hindus were solely responsible for Nalanda's destruction,' a claim supported by Tibetan sources as well.

@@abdullah.a.nahyanAnd what exactly was the point of your paragraph again ? Rivalry and war between kingdoms isn't a new thing in India. Randomly bringing Brahmins in a conversation doesn't give it validity. Yes there was friction between the Hindus and Buddhists. So ? And you are trying to paint a picture that as if the Buddhists were some pure as angels, innocent, powerless group who were one-sidedly slaughtered and tortured by evil Hindu Brahmins ! Then you call someone else a pseudo historian ! 😂 The university was still standing tall and functioning regardless of what was going on. It was only destroyed when Khilji burnt it to the ground.
And what is this desire to sympathize with invaders and colonisers !? Someone talks about an invader destroying our country and your response is, ”Oh so what ? We were also fighting amongst our selves." Wow ! What a mentality ! Then by that logic I guess we should let China and Pakistan invade us right ? After all we are fighting even now. There are social problems too. So what does it matter if an invader comes and slaughters and destroy us ?

I visited Nalanda University few months ago. There we were told by Guide that only 1/11 part of Nalanda University is above the ground and the rest is covered by civilization nearby. We were told that the gatekeepers of Nalanda University took an exam themselves before students could get in for entrance exams and about 90% of the students were rejected by the Gatekeepers themselves as they had vast knowledge in every aspect. Every scholar and teacher of the University was vastly knowledgeable and highly skilled in every aspect. Every corner of the University has different significance. We could feel the realm of knowledge from the place. It's a shame such a prestigious and honored place is no more in function due to Bakhtiyar Khilji. Epitome of knowledge.

@@umarfarooque9039Please read about Aryabhata, Varahamihira, Bhaskara 1, Brahmagupta famous mathematicians from Nalanda university. Aryabhata 476-550 CE, is known for Mathematics- sinusoidal functions, solution of single variable quadratic equation, value of π correct to 4 decimal places, decimal, ZERO, plane and spherical trignometry, continued fractions, quadratic equations, sums-of-power series, and a table of sines, indeterminate equations, algebra, astronomy- Explanation of lunar eclipse and solar eclipse, rotation of Earth on its axis, reflection of light by the Moon, diameter of Earth, calculation of the length of sidereal year.
Islamic mathematicians from Uzbekistan, Persia translated his books so even though original is lost we know of his work. "A third text, which may have survived in the Arabic translation, is Al ntf or Al-nanf. It claims that it is a translation by Aryabhata, but the Sanskrit name of this work is not known. Probably dating from the 9th century, it is mentioned by the Persian scholar and chronicler of India, Abū Rayhān al-Bīrūnī", (973 - after 1050), known as al-Biruni, was a Khwarazmian Iranian scholar and polymath during the Islamic Golden Age. He has been called variously the "founder of Indology", "Father of Comparative Religion","Father of modern geodesy", and the first anthropologist.
Only current generation have no idea of our ancestors as we study British made syllabus but ancient and medieval scholars exchanged ideas from Greece, India, Middle East, Iran, China. They didnt mock others on religion, except Bhaktiyar Khilji who out of hatred destroyed Nalanda university but many scholars of Islam faith wouldn't agree to him. Those invaders dont have scholarly knowledge, thats why big libraries in Alexandria, Egypt, Baghdad, Iraq, Taxila university (present Pakistan, ancient India), Vikramashila (India, near Nalanda university) were destroyed by invaders

If you are a Sri Lankan you should know why Buddhists secretly brought Buddha's tooth relic to Lanka . Because you know Hindus persecuted Buddhists in India . Who invaded and destroyed Anuradhapuram ? . Who destroyed Buddhist city in Kaanchipuram and Buddhists monastries in Tamil Nadu and Kerala ?
Nalanda University was destroyed three times by different invaders. The first destruction was caused by the Huns under the reign of Mihirakula. The second destruction came during the 7th century by the Goudas. This time, the Buddhist king Harshavardhana then restored the university.
Pushyamitra Sunga destroyed 84,000 Buddhist monastries in India . According to Tibeatean history , 3rd time Nalanda was burnt by 2 Brahmins and then they put blame on Kilji when Kiji rest near to Vihara. Historians says Kilji never visited Nalanda. Now Vedic Hindus took Nalanda and use it as Its their university . But in real Its belonged to Buddhists.

      Tell your father is this
Indians destroy their own libraries and blame Invaders
While instances of libraries being burned by Indians in India are relatively rare compared to cases of libraries being destroyed by external forces, here are a few examples:
      1. Library of the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute, Pune (2014): In 2014, a group of activists attacked the Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute in Pune, Maharashtra. The assailants set fire to some books and manuscripts, resulting in significant damage to the collection.
      2. Library of the Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad (2002): During the Gujarat riots in 2002, the Sabarmati Ashram, which was the residence of Mahatma Gandhi and housed a library, was targeted and set on fire. The library suffered extensive damage, including the loss of books and archival materials.
There have been instances of libraries being damaged or destroyed in India due to various reasons such as conflicts, riots, natural disasters, and accidents. Some examples include:
      1. Delhi Public Library, Delhi (1993): The Delhi Public Library, one of the largest libraries in India, suffered significant damage due to a fire that broke out in 1993. The fire destroyed a significant portion of its valuable collection.
      2. State Central Library, Thiruvananthapuram (2005): The State Central Library in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, was damaged in a fire that broke out in 2005. The fire caused considerable destruction to the library's resources and infrastructure.
      3. Manuscripts Library, Srinagar (2018): The Manuscripts Library, located in the Old City of Srinagar, Jammu, and Kashmir, was gutted in a fire in 2018. The fire resulted in the loss of several rare and ancient manuscripts.
      4. Libraries during communal riots: There have been instances during communal riots in India where libraries and educational institutions have been targeted and damaged. However, specific examples of libraries being intentionally burned by Indians themselves or the Indian state are not readily available.

Nalanda University, located in present-day Bihar, India, was indeed destroyed multiple times throughout its history. It was one of the most renowned ancient centers of learning in the world, attracting scholars and students from various parts of Asia.
The first destruction of Nalanda University occurred during the reign of Mihirakula, a Huna (also known as the White Huns) ruler. Mihirakula was a Central Asian invader who led an army that caused significant damage to Nalanda and other Buddhist monastic centers in the region during the 6th century.
The second destruction of Nalanda University took place in the 7th century. This time, the invaders were the Goudas, who are believed to have been a group of Shashanka's army. Shashanka was a regional king of Bengal who opposed Buddhism. The Goudas attacked and destroyed the university, leading to its downfall.
However, after the second destruction, Nalanda University was restored by the efforts of the Buddhist king Harshavardhana. Harshavardhana, who ruled over a large part of northern India from the mid-7th to early 8th century, was a patron of Buddhism and played a significant role in reviving Nalanda. He provided support to rebuild the university and attract scholars and students once again, ensuring its revival as a center of learning.
Nalanda University continued to flourish for several centuries after its restoration by Harshavardhana until it eventually declined and fell into ruins. The exact reasons for its ultimate demise are not entirely clear but are thought to be a combination of factors such as political instability, invasions, and the overall decline of Buddhism in the region. The ruins of Nalanda were rediscovered in the 19th century and have since been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Apart from the Huns under Mihirakula and the Goudas during the reign of Shashanka, there were other invasions that contributed to the destruction of Nalanda University. Some of the notable invaders include:
      1. Bakhtiyar Khilji: In the 12th century, Bakhtiyar Khilji, a general of the Delhi Sultanate, attacked and destroyed Nalanda University. This invasion is considered one of the most devastating for the university, resulting in extensive damage and loss of valuable manuscripts.
      2. Muslim Invaders: Nalanda University faced repeated attacks by various Muslim armies during the medieval period. These invasions were part of the larger conflicts between Islamic rulers and regional kingdoms in northern India. The university suffered significant damage during these incursions.
It is important to note that while these invasions caused destruction to Nalanda University, the institution managed to recover and continue functioning to some extent. However, the cumulative impact of repeated attacks over several centuries eventually led to its decline and abandonment.
Overall, Nalanda University faced several invasions and destruction throughout its history, but it also experienced periods of revival and prosperity in between. Its importance as a center of learning and its resilience in the face of adversity remain significant aspects of its legacy.

Nalanda University was primarily a Buddhist center of learning, with a focus on studying and teaching Buddhist philosophies, doctrines, and practices. It served as a platform where scholars from different Buddhist traditions could interact and exchange ideas.
However, Nalanda University wasn't exclusively Buddhist. It also fostered the study of various branches of secular knowledge, including linguistics, logic, grammar, astronomy, and medicine. The scholars at Nalanda contributed to the development of various fields of study, including astronomy, mathematics, and medicine, demonstrating that the curriculum was quite varied and comprehensive.
