- Here's a demo of a Modified by Rivera Fender 68' Deluxe Reverb reissue. Available only from Sweetwater Music. This is a recreation of the mods made famously by Session guitarists in the late 70's through the 80's and that were used on thousands of hits. Including Michael Jackson's "Beat it Riff"/
Back then Session Guitarists need multiple tones from clean to mean in one amp.
Later, Paul Rivera brought some of these features to his Fender designs.
Mods include:
-Separating Channel 1 from Channel 2 making it a 2 channel amp
-Clean channel modded for more headroom, clearing up the flubby bottom, adding treble bright and middle notch for 4 distinct tones.
-Adding Master control with Pull for Gain, Presence, 6 position Fat switch for thickening the higher strings. Treble bright and mid notch added to that channel as well.
-Hum adjust added to match all types of preamp tube brands.
At last, a nice demo with someone playing with some SOUL!. and not sounding institutionalized.
That SRV song clean at the end is the tone! So good.
This demo sounds so much better than Sweetwater's!
Sweetwater makes the worst demos.
Amazing - amp as well as guitarist!!
No, really the hat and shoes look great!
Like the hat, love the playing, want those shoes :) and the amp of course
Man that Guy can play !!
Woooooooooo! That dude is smokin"!
The Toto IV amp
Also, the “Beat It” amp.
I'll take 2 please, because this would just sound sick split on stage.
How clean will it stay vs the 68 Custom Reissue? That's what I need onstage!
How I wish they were sold in Europe as well...
Stan Laurel? Is that you?!?!??!
at 1:56 it says volume and master pulled for higher gain lead tones but the volume knob doesn't pull out like the master volume does,...maybe they just meant "master volume" pulled ? and I still wonder why they removed the reverb and tremolo from the rhythm channel.Very cool amp Paul-tip of the hat.I now wonder if it could have a little reverb switch hidden in the back which could allow the user to assign the reverb and tremolo to ch.1,2 or both like other current Rivera amps.
Reverb and Tremolo has been removed from the rhythm channel to make it a true 2 channel amp it is only active on the lead channel now-and yes the speed and depth controls are relocated to the back for the lead channel-very cool amp ! Think I'll be interested in if it's possible to easily retie the Trem and Vibr.functions back to both channels.Again very interesting homage to His origional modded Fender Deluxes (stage 2).www.rivera.com/product/combos/fender-68-deluxe-reissue-modded-by-paul-rivera/
The reverb not being on channel 1 is a deal breaker. Fail.
How much does it cost ?..
i wonder how the warranty works on this thing?
Its werks like dis...
If yas breaks its...
Yas buys it...
Na das it...
what does Paul charge to do this mod on an actual vintage Deluxe?
I thought that was a girl or Don mock doing the demo
Pssst.....not a reissue. Isn’t that a Vintage Modified?
No, its a modified reissue
Fuck, who’s the guitar player?
