- www.carbuyingsupport.com This video is about how to easily remove sap from car paint. WD40 is the easiest and most effective way to loosen up the sap and then remove it with a wooden pop sickle stick.
So that's a great way to scratch the paint finish using a popsicle stick!!! Best way go get the actual tree sap remover
Try ice cubes straight from freezer (0 F, -18C). Move the ice cube gently with no pressure over the sap. The sap will just pop out. You can clean up an entire hood with a few ice cubes. No scratches.
Thanks, I knowthat when sap is cool to the touch, its easy to clean it, I imagine ice has to do a better job..
Will that work for old gum residue
I already know how to get sap off, but I really wanted to watch Gregs new video.
Another awesome, informative and entertaining video. Cheers 😀
Thank you brother, this worked great on my Volvo that was parked under a pine tree for a month
Just use the Turtle Wax Scratch and Swirl remover. Using that popsicle stick will scratch the paint. That is applicable for older cars.
I try turtle wax and it tiok for ever to get the top layer off. But I could get the dry brown stain out. Look like it baked in the clear coat
Hi I know this video is 3 years old. But I had some stubborn tree sap on the 2007 Yukon XL Denali I purchased 6 months ago. Nothing worked, no WD40, no tree sap remover nothing. I bought an eraser wheel and tried that. Works GREAT! Doesn’t damage the paint or anything and is super fast.
What’s an eraser wheel?

What is an eraser wheel??
@@cramos7287 it’s an attachment for a drill. Has rubber around it. Google it, it’ll be the first thing that comes up. It works sooooo much better than anything else. Just make sure you keep moving it back and forth (otherwise you can burn the paint) it’s very very very easy to use to remove sap and other stuff on your paint.
Worked great. Thanks. Didn’t wax just a hand wash😎
Got some unintentional ASMR going on here. 👍🏻
Fuckin aspies
Use lemon oil and a soft cotton cloth. Be gentle, takes a little time, will come out.
This method worked fantastically. Scrape some of the sap off with a wooden splint. Use a pot scrubber( not steel wool) and hot water, add Dawn dish detergent,
rub in a circular motion and then rinse. Tree sap comes off easily!
High concentration of isopropyl alcohol works best by far. No popsicle stick necessary. It dissolves it very quickly and completely
We used to use wd40 for everything a great removal product for just about anything
Hand sanitizer is the way to go apparently, according to other sappy videos
Any evffect on paint?
You are a life saver!
WD-40 if used on paint will eventually discolored, lift and ruin your paint job wherever you use it on tree sap then you have to repaint the same areas. Folks saying use WD-40 is great for tree sap are correct, but not when it's on your painted car.
So then what is the alternative
The solvent in WD-40 is naphtha, aka lighter fluid, aka charcoal lighter fluid, aka paint dissolver. Follow the suggestions by others: test lemon oil on an inconspicuous spot, ice cubes, swirl remover, polish paste remover, Krud Kutter, alcohol. Use better judgment. If in doubt research the manufacturer of the car's paint to ask what to use to remove tree sap safely.
Good job 👍
I do auto detail, we use tree sap removal “alcohol” thats all u need, it will come right off, without scratching it. Good luck
Rubbing alcohol..and at what strength.?
@@bigradz8246did you find out
It doesn't work, especially on the windshield.
Nice job
Geeze I wouldn’t use a popsicles stick on my paint. Cring worthy.
Rubbing alcohol works good too. Less smell
Can you also use lighter fluid and plastic razor blades
Thank you 🙏
Thanks !
Will this work for old gum residue on the car exterior??
Yes it worked for a truck I own
Alcohol, acetone, wine whiskey !
More videos Greg! Thumbs up!
you just save me $150.00 dollars at the carwash. THANKS
Why dint you use a bank card
FRESH 90% ALCOHOL and work done... I won't rub a popsicle stick over my new car's paint
Wd40 takes the paint off
Dont waste your time...use rubbing alcohol, or hand sanitizer.
Does that affect the paint?
That don't look easy to me that looks like a lot of work wax on wax off
So scratch up my car
Hand sanitizer is the way to go apparently, according to other sappy videos
Searched Autogeek.net and hand sanitizer was the go to for my wife's Pathfinder hood when she parked under a pine tree. It softens the sap and after about 20 minutes wipes right off. Pro detailers use alcohol to wipe down cars before they apply finishing wax so the hand sanitizer is perfectly safe.
Ive tried hand sanitizer and alcohol, sap won.
Good tip for hand sanitizer 👌 I tried wd40 and hand sanitizer, the sanitizer was loads better
