I use the same unit on my wood heater chimney. I refuse to crawl up my metal roof to clean, so I clean from the bottom up. I purchased those bags that attach to the bottom of the chimney to catch the mess. There’s a small slit in the side of these bags that allows for the rod. I had one of the bags to tear at the slit while cleaning, so I learned to place a strip of Gorilla tape over the slit for reinforcement. Works great. I do worry about the chimney cap. Not sure how clean I’m getting it only using this device.
I have the exact same one , into my 4th year now annual clean , that soot fall is very hard tar like bits , mine is very fine powder, few points to mention is , make a small plastic collar placed at the point of stainless flue bend so not to mark up your kit , also spray the ball press connections with say WD40 or silicone as ball bearings will stick after a while, and keep it moving when it spins ie say using 6 passes back and forth then take off a rod . satisfying to see all that fall out haha .
Wow that’s a lot of creosote for one year. Are you burning unseasoned wood? Low temp burns? Is this your clean out? I hard to disassemble my baffle to get to the pipe. Sweeps in my area charge $295. I purchased the same unit to supplement the cleaning. Also get a chimnex flare extinguisher just in case you ever have a chimney fire. 🔥. Thanks for making the video.

I just bought the same kit which came with 3 replacement brushes with a piece of crimped metal tubing at the center holding each brush together

The nylon filament is easy to remplaze.. u need an allen key to disamble the head.
Grass trimmer line is a good cheap alternative for replacement brush.
Get the heavy twisted or square line 0.90" works well.
Used some this year
I just got one. Works great but beware… the soot falling down makes a mess. Cover stove/fireplace with plastic or you’ll be sorry!
But it’s a lined chimney
It is a lined chimney.
Use a chimney sweep. 😊
