Good vid btw however i wanted to say that knuckles was done dirty. knuckles gameplay has a pretty high and unique skill ceiling this is because of his glide and the way it interacts with his moveset i dont want to make this comment an essay so ill just use one exsample, in the classics and mania you can spin dash pretty much immediately after a glide how ever superstars adds more recovery frames to his movset ie you cant spin dash. Immediately out of a glide anymore. this is only one example but it just makes knuckles feel "slow" compared to everyone else and essentially make him sonic combined with tails just worse and really no reason to play him other than challenge I guess? Btw this problem was also in "knuckles in sonic 2" wich is why he feels off in that too if im remembering correctly
I'm a tad more in the middle on this game - like a 5 or a 6/10. It isn't awful, I even think it'll serve you some fine enough time if you're just plain sick of all the other Genesis style 2D games (and some of the best fanmade levels), if you just want a new set of mostly alright levels you can run through. It's most definitely very disappointing for those with the hopes of the next 2D banger while being a "just enough" for others; actually kind of what I think Sonic 4 should have been in 2010 and greatly suffers being in 2023 after Mania (even for that matter after Origins which exposed more audience to the Classic era games, imperfect ports and all).
