    Thank you for this awesome checklist and your thoughts on what to pack!
    We are planning to do the track in march without a porter ... is it really a MUST to book one?

    • @uniquetraveladventures
      @uniquetraveladventures  2 роки тому

      They say it's required... But when we were on the trail, hardly anyone had hired out a porter.
      And now with TIMS being irrelevant (they didn't check TIMS once during our Trek --- only our permit), you can just the ACAP permit yourself.

    Thanks for the video. Nice to see some updated information. We tried to go in Sept of 20, but that failed. We’re now leaving in the middle of this coming March to do it. Any last minute pro tips?

    • @uniquetraveladventures
      @uniquetraveladventures  2 роки тому +1

      I'll actually be doing a video on that soon! But as a teaser, during our Trek, you no longer need a TIMS which means you are no longer required to go through an agency.
      And the trail is completely wiped out from Tal to Chame so you'll have to walk in the road during that section.

    Great packing information though I don’t see me trekking anytime soon LOL! Only 3 pairs of underwear?!

      Ha! My boyfriend had never trekked before meeting me and now he's hooked.
      And yep, only need 3 pairs when you do laundry everyday. You want the least amount of weight possible on your back.

    Am planning the trek for this April so it’s great to have some recent info - and some great packing ideas, thank you ! Like the bit about wearing one set of gear, washing the other : sounds like it’ll make life (and packing) easier. Did you sleep in your next day’s base layer ?
    I have a question about trash : I’m wary of leaving rubbish for the Nepalese to deal with. Are we not meant to take everything back off the trek with us ? (barring the toilet paper !) Would like your take on that, having been there.
    Many thanks !

      My sleeping bag was one that had down in it (feathers like a down comforter) so it'll essentially trap heat in there. Because of this, i actually slept in the nude pretty much all the nights so it could 1) get my body heat quicker and 2) it got pretty warm inside my sleeping bag!
      What kind of sleeping bag do you plan to use?
      As for trash, we didn't really have much besides the granola bars. We placed that in their trash cans. If I'm being honest, I didn't even think about what the Nepalese then do with the trash. 🙈

    Hi, Thank you so much for your detailed review :) Super helpful. I'm trekking in April and was curious about the down jacket you took. Is it one of the thinner ones or thicker ones. Mine packs down to a similar size to yours and is 700 fill so isn't one of those thing ones (but also not crazy puffy) - it fits a fleece jacket underneath. I've done some googling but can only seem to see 'down jacket' on the packing lists. Thanks!

      Mine was one of the thicker ones that also fits a fleece underneath.
      Hope you have an amazing time in April!

      He did great! Really didn't have any side effects. We didn't go higher than 500 meters per day. We also allowed for 7 days throughout the 25 to acclimate properly to the altitude.
