It's just personal opinion, really. I personally much, MUCH prefer Floor in Nightwish and as a vocalist. I could never get into them years ago because of Tarja's and Annette's vocals. As soon as I saw the Wacken 2012 show with Floor, I was so happy, because I've always loved the instrumental side of Nightwish, and now I can love the vocals as well.
Holy guacamole, she's gorgeous... I know she's wearing a lot of makeup here but damn, her eyes and smile (and that accent ♥ ) are definitely a winner! I seriously hope she's here to stay with Nightwish, I've been looking for a tour date I could see them live but it's not that easy to come by!
Having more live vocals rather than pre-recorded, is something I noticed right away when I heard them live. That is something which went a long way with me really becoming a fan of Floor.
I came to know and love Nightwish in the Tarja years, and only recently got back to them learning how Floor has adapted into the group. While I love the songs and performances of Tarja and have a nostalgic bond to many of them, I can't bring myself to be appreciative of her because of how she forced their parting, and how her true color came to shine publicly afterwards. To be that dismissive and arrogant when all you are bringing is your voice(and Floor has proven that didn't make her unique). Meanwhile Toumas burns passionately for the band and Floor just admires him so much for it, even if she has also proven to be a composer and songwriter herself. I haven't had the chance to properly bond with her yet, but I already love her so much more than Tarja for how she treats the other members.
She sings well and all but she lacks that special something that separates her voice from others like Tarja, Doro, Otep, Tairrie B. She is more like a generic but great and powerful singer. To my ears she does a good enough job but she doesn't really add anything to the sound to make it special.
Apart from her unmistakable charisma and style of performing, I think she three things going for her if you only look at the singing: first, her undeniable versatility and range. Second, her sheer power and tidal volume that she's able to muster. No, four things. Thirdly, she's actually quite the virtuoso with melismas and stuff. No, five things actually: fourthly, she sings tastefully and knows where to place effects. And last but not least, she has a really, really beautiful voice in her lower range, especially when she sings softly, enough to give me chills every time.
the "down to earth" thing (or the "doe normaal" thing, should I say?), the accent, the face, the height... Yes, she's very dutch. And that's indeed lovely.
It's true. Years ago I fell into a deep and horrible depression. I barely ate or slept or spoke and lost all the will to live. Then I watched Floor perform on stage for the first time. I didn't notice at first but my husband said to me; "I never thought I would see you smile again." Apparently I was transfixed and smiled the whole time. Her beautiful voice comforted me when nothing else could and watching her perform brought me so much joy. She continues to brighten up my days and I will always be grateful to her
There is abslutely nothing more attractive than a woman who is sensible, gratituous, mature and down to earth. Floor is all that and some much more. God bless her beautiful voice and beautiful soul. I ve never met her and prob never will. But she has a very kind side to her that jumps out at you when she speaks. I love her!
Saw them last night, the live harmonies was a massive delight especially when 90% of concerts these days have a lot of backing tracks. They of course still use them too but it really made a difference hearing it truly live.

My wife and I saw Nightwish in Birmingham last monday. She is an amazing, truly amazing singer. Her voice is like no other. But, apart from that, she has a great stage presence. The best vocalist out there. And to top it all, Beast in Black were supporting and Yanis is amazing too.

Can sing lower, she can growl, can sing with her chest voice the same notes as with her head voice and is generally more versatile than Tarja. And Floor is much better performer than Tarja. Floor's charisma and stage presence is incredible. Tarja had that awkward little dance, nothing much more. Today Tarja can sing also other than operatic style, but back then, nothing more. All songs were that same. But, opera singers are like that. That is why real opera singers don't sing anything but opera. Both Floor and Tarja are great singers, but so different. And people like different singers. Luckily, all people doesn't like same style, it would be boring.
