Vintage 1/72 Airfix Harrier GR.3 - Painting Video

I finally got around to building the Harrier kit I did a review on a little while ago. Unfortunately. I did something wrong and the sprites that operate my iPad got angry and deleted that video. 😳
I have done this paint video. I’ve depicted a Harrier of No.1(F) Squadron in the 1982 Falklands Campaign.
I also did a bit more research on the serial number for this plane. XZ992.
The aircraft, piloted by Flt Lt Gilchrist, flew from the U.K. to Ascension Island and on to HMS Hermes over a few days. Arriving on 8th June 1982.
Over the last few days of the conflict. Flt Lt Gilchrist took part in several sorties armed with cluster bombs and laser guided bombs.
On the day of the Argentinean surrender. Gilchrist and one other had been tasked to attack targets on Wireless Ridge. But. When they arrived on station they were told to hold off. When they queried this they were told,
“We think they’re giving in! At the moment we don’t want to do anything that might make them stop and change their minds”.
XZ992 would end up being destroyed in a bird strike incident in 1984 as it was taking part in exercises around Port Stanley. The pilot ejected and was rescued.
