    I have had a 2006 Road Glide, 2013 Road Glide Ultra, and now have a black 2016 Road Glide Ultra. I have enjoyed everyone one of them. It would be nice to have the Milwaukee 8. But I am perfectly happy with my 2016. One more year to full retirement then it’s on to enjoying the open road and the RV life. Great video. And thank you for your service.

    I’ve got the 2018 Road Glide Ultra and agree with your review 100%... I also have had 2 Batwing farings, 2010 Ultra Classic and 2015 Ultra Limited. Loved both bikes but really like the shark nose. Watching the video makes me want to ride! Gotta wait till tomorrow!

    LOL, Was reading the comments while watching the video. As soon as I saw you mention the keyhole I thought, he must've been a motor....did 13 years on the bike, started on the KZs and finished on the BMW. Now just a few more to go and I'll be on the road like you and Clay. You two stay safe and keep the videos coming.

    Bought my 2018 RGS in February last year. Put 9k miles in about 10 months. Absolutely love this bike. Upgraded from a 2006 Dyna Low Rider. Yea big jump but well worth it. Very much in joying your content, new sub here. I too live around Atl and would ride with you fine folks one day. Ride Safe and Ride Often.

    Man, I just bought a 19 a week ago. Your right on about the fixed fairing, it’s a lot smoother for interstate riding then the bat wing fairing. I had a 06 Street Glide, it would wobble like crazy especially with my wife on back, but now with the Road glide, it’s smooth sailing lol! Good Video and nice review brother 👍

    I also have a 2018 Road Glide with about 3,500 miles on it now and I love it. You're absolutely right it's definitely a very stable bike at highway speeds even with the wind gusts... it is so comfortable, fun, and confident to ride.
    I did put some slip-on Crusher Mufflers on mine though, with stock headers. The slip-ons made it a little bit louder, not too much, but gave it a much deeper exhaust note. When you're on the throttle it is definitely louder but when you're idling or cruising down the highway it's not much louder than stock. My wife gives me a hard time about it cuz she likes loud exhaust and says it sounds like a kitten... we also have a Honda VTX that she rides now with Vance & Hines Big Shots on it and that bike is loud. Honestly I don't really want a loud bike like that anymore because I still want to enjoy the radio when I'm cruising down the road and that loud exhaust note just gets tiring after a long day of riding.
    So if you ever do itch for a little more sound out of your Road Glide just put some slip-ons on and don't touch the header.

    • @TollesonLife
      @TollesonLife  5 років тому

      Hey Jeff! Yes sir, loving my RG. About to take a long trip to Colorado next month on it. I am thinking about putting on some slip-on just for that little deeper sound. I too enjoy my music and conversation with our head set, so dont want it too loud. All the best to you!

But the Ultra Road Glide just fit me better I liked the handle bars a lot better the bike fits me I am 5' 8" and have no problems. I did put a set of Cobra slip on's and a high flow air filter in the stock air filter box It also has all led lights on it now. Great Review Ride Safe!.

    I just bought a 2019 RGU, the suspension vs my 2012 is 10x better. Still trying to adapt to the new single cam. It's more balanced, dual plugs, 8 valves, and much improved 02 fuel system. It has more power throught the rpm range. It feels slower but the speedo says otherwise..

    The videos just keep getting better!! Thanks for the review...With the Milwaukee 8 107ci water cooled, how is the heat? Any issues in sit & go traffic? Also to, you hit on the fact about the faring being fixed....the difference on the bat wing, is the faring is affixed to the front forks, with the one you have, which is affixed to the motorcycle frame. The difference, which you pointed out, is that the bat wing moves the steering with wind gusts. The frame fixed faring "cuts" through the wind because its mounted to the motorcycle itself!! Thanks for the review, been thinking about getting one myself!!

But, anything that helps get you out and seeing this great county!! Let me know if you make the purchase! Take care, stay safe and thanks for subbing!

    I just bought a 18 RGS a few weeks ago coming from a 16 SG and didnt really notice a difference around semi trucks but do notice the handling is better on the RGS. I have read and heard the shark nose was far better in all areas so i rode one and bought it. I mainly bought it for the color and the slow speed handling and the air pocket is different but i will need a taller windscreen

    From San Antonio, love your channel! I was wondering how tall you are. I am 6'4 and was wondering if you chose the Road Glide for a bit more 'space'. I love the looks and will probably pull the trigger on a 2019 soon. I have been riding a BMW but need more long-distance comfort. Stay safe and keep on posting! Steve

    • @TollesonLife
      @TollesonLife  6 років тому

      Hey Steve, thanks for watching man! I am 5’ 11” and this bike fits me well. With your height, you might would want to get a “tall boy” seat which puts the rider back several inches. But for me it works. Thanks again and be safe out there in TX!

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 4 роки тому

      I'm 6'2" and space is exactly one of the things I like about the Road Glide. The fairing and lowers are well out in front of you giving you the feeling of a stretched out bike. Nothing is encroaching on your knees. The riding position is relaxed although the low seat height does mean your hips are rotated more, but that doesn't bother me. Highway pegs give long legs room to stretch, and these work better with Harleys than any other bike I've tried due to the narrow profile of the twin engine. Also the floorboards give you room to move your feet around. I'm 62, so I also like a rider's backrest. I added the Sirius/XM module and heated grips, and a taller shield from Freedom Shields, which I can't say enough good things about, and that's it.

    Only complaint about the clutch is that in traffic you will build Popeye forearm on the left arm, other than that my 18 Electra Glide is great. Saw your video on the 19 Road Glide and I am like you I really couldn’t see trading my 18 for a 19 although the new radio looks pretty good

    • @TollesonLife
      @TollesonLife  6 років тому

      Yeah, Im still getting use to my clutch. Im good with my 107 for now, I have a 117 in my Big Dog Chopper, for when I have the need to be "snatched"

    Nice Bike, Harley Davidson has stepped it up! Cool helmet, I didn’t know Arai made a touring helmet. I thought your helmet was a Nolan, it looks like my N-102 because of the outside tinted half visor.
    I am sure your bike has cruise control, heated grips and a heated seat for Ms Clay, but is a reverse gear an option? I am a BMW guy, don’t hold it against me. That bike looks as heavy as my LT. I am looking to purchase an Exclusive, but my wife who is a fan also of your videos also, may want to test ride a Road Glide Ultra also. Great video, I can’t wait to see what you do next.

    I bought a 2018 RGU and just had the 1000 mile service done a few weeks ago. My biggest complaint, and my wife's, is the heat rising up under the right passenger floor board. That's where Harley put the catalytic converter and it had to go. After installing a new head pipe, S&S MK45 mufflers, Arlen Ness inverted big sucker air filter kit and a V&H fuelpak 3 the heat has been reduced a good bit. The bike pulls harder on the low end now as a bonus since I was only looking to get rid of the cat and get the engine to breath better which both help to reduce heat. Did your RGU come with the driver back rest? I asked about that at the dealer and they said if it wasn't on the bike then no it did not come with one and they also did not give me a liner for my tour pack only the two side saddles.

    • @TollesonLife
      @TollesonLife  6 років тому +2

      We haven't felt that kind of heat from the catalytic converter, so that hasnt been an issue yet. I did add the rider backrest after I purchased it. Just got back from Nashville and we are really enjoying this bike. Sorry you didnt get the bag liners, we use those on every trip. Enjoy the RG and be safe!

    • @rogerwalsh4018
      @rogerwalsh4018 5 років тому +1

      I didn’t get any of the liners with mine. I didn’t care because I still had a set from a previous bike. But the ultras are supposed to come with liners and one plug-headset that’s useless.

    Great video! I just picked up a 2019 limited. First bike I ever owned. Do you find it stressful riding on the hwy? I’ve only riden a few times and prefer the backroads vs hwy. maybe it’s because I’m new to riding but all the traffic and 18 wheelers kinda stress me out. Anyway of coming over that I guess just ride and learn the bike but any tricks?

      Hey Paul, sorry for my delayed response, been on the road, congrats on the purchase of your bike! I suggest to ride where you feel most comfortable, then expand to the interstates in short dozes, short rides, you will grow more comfortable with time. Enjoy the bike my friend!

    The Road Glide has 2 nice sized storage pockets while the batwings have nothing but a too small cell phone pocket.

    I really like the communication you have in the video when you're in a group, is that the cardo system? I know the harley sets are sena manufactured. Do the cardo pair with the Infotainment system so you hear the gps and phone same as the communications.

    • @TollesonLife
      @TollesonLife  5 років тому

      Mark, yes we use the Cardo pack talk bold. We do not have them paired with the Harley infotainment. It’s my understanding that you can with an add on from HD. We just pair our phones to the Cardo system. Hope that answers your question.

    Can someone tell me how chain maintenance is on a bike like this? Paddock stand the best option? I wish it was belt driven.

    I wonder if you can still perform cone drills as good as a batwing ultra?

    • @TollesonLife
      @TollesonLife  6 років тому +1

      Chip, I think so, the Ultra Limited (Batwing) has basically the same specs according the H-D Website. Just about the same length, same fork rake etc..... I can do the Key Hole (18 ft turn, or 2 parking lot spaces) with this Road Glide. Would love to jump on a course with it. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    Do your speakers ever hurt your ears like make it hard to understand words or the actual songs? If I turn mine up even half way or little less my ears hurt so bad, I messed with the treble and base but no change much really. Thoughts?

    • @TollesonLife
      @TollesonLife  4 роки тому

      Hey Scotty, you know, I never use my stereo at highway speeds. I always use my Cardo Headset with speakers in my helmet and my iPhone. I will say that Im not overly impressed with the sound that I get from the bike's stereo.

    • @scotty2221
      @scotty2221 4 роки тому

      @@TollesonLife Good to know. I'll probably pick up a headset. I'm not a fan of the stereo either and not really feel like putting 1k $ worth into an upgrade lol. At low speeds it's not bad anything under 55mph.
