I like the elevator scene where Pete is getting in elevator with a bunch of suits all white men in dark clothes for a boring business lunch & Peggy is getting in one with her young hip friends that look diverse & have on color
can someone put the scene up from season 7's "the monolith" where don walks out of the elevator and they show the black elevator from across the way which looks exactly like the monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey? it's such a cool, unnerving moment and I'm dying to see it as a youtube video!
Grey's Anatomy uses this same method except sometimes these elevators are filled with dying patients, dramatic tension, and a whole lot of sexual tension.
I figured the show used elevators a lot because the set was inexpensive. That’s why they incorporated California in the stories. They film the fake sets in L.A.. and they go to California in the story, they are already there. Looks big budget but it’s all backlot.
I guess the biggest secret is that you simply had to talk to the person next to you because you did not have cell phones to throw your face in,in the 1960's to break the awkwardness.
There are so many subtleties in our lives that cell phones and social media have changed. Most notably... Cell Phones: Probably over half of all sitcom plots in the 1960s and 1970s wouldn't have occurred if everyone had a cellphone. Social Media: It was easier to let unwanted friendships die a natural death. Now you actually have to end them.
“I feel bad for you.”
“I don’t think about you at all.”
YOU MISSED NOT GREAT BOB
Skip44 That was totally incoherent.
Goat scene
C Geer : No, it wasn't.

The most hilarious part is that Jon Hamm officially got confirmed the role when he was in an elevator.
He loves elevators so much it sounds like he did the audio from an elevator shaft. Keep it up WSJ.
Well, he did say that he spoke to Weiner on the phone.
The last scene in "The Beautiful Girls" is also worth noting

Deep stuff, the only thing I was thinking with the empty elevator shaft was a historic reminder how unsafe elevators could be in the past.
Do old elevators really opens even when the car is somewhere moving? That's really unsafe
If you ever want to make a show, watch and listen. Budgets and storylines can work together.
The secret? Despite an elevator ride only lasting several seconds, a lot can be revealed in that short space of time.
I work in a 1960s era building. I spend so much of my working life in elevators.

cuccamunga Yes!! How could they not mention that!!
The Good Wife also have many memorable scenes happenning in elevators.
Roger & Don meet again while Roger is waiting for the elevator
I’m pretty sure that there are no elevator attendants after Sterling Cooper becomes SDCP.
I think house m.d had more elevators scenes

Sometimes you tempt death
And sometimes death tempts you
Watching this in an elevator
"Not great Bob!"
I think they end with him falling down an elevator shaft accidentally.
He fell down the elevator shaft while chanting "Ommm".
