Hi there! yes, Lammas is still up and running and they intend to for the long term future! We hope you enjoyed our short documentary, there is more information on the Lammas Eco Village in the description as well as links to our own other work, hope you stick around!
There are helicopters which can reach remote locations quickly, and most residents have a car, which is a must in that remote place. Of course, a well equipped First Aid box is a necessity, and possibly a First Aid course as well, plus natural remedies.
I can totally understand you guys wanting to do this but surely the point of it is to help the planet and feel free? I've looked into the one planet rules, do you not feel abit too controlled by the rules? I wouldn't feel the sense of freedom being monitored constantly. And what if someone with a job like a nurse wanted to live this lifestyle? They would have to quit their job in order to meet the one planet strict rules? I want this life but I'm not willing to be controlled by councils for it.
No one is obliged to quit their job, when living in Lammas. It's probably a necessity to earn an income outside the community. When I worked for 1 month at Lammas, May 2012, several residents left for a job elsewhere. In general, they were the most sane, in touch with the outside world without turning a hostile eye to it. I don't know if rules have changed now, 10 years later, but I would be disappointed, when rules are made as dogmas so that all who live in Lammas form a kind of cult.
@IIWII yes I can see that they are humans and not sheeps. Why do you talk about sheep like it is a metaphor instead of one of the nature's creatures? Lost in symbolical forrest, are we? These people could be sheep farmers you know. One was from Wales after all.
For those not aware, LAMMAS experienced a fire early in the new year, destroying the home of Simon and Jasmine Dale, who feature in this documentary. If there are any who are interested in helping out, you can here: www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jane-wells-2 -The Lime 58 team
I find these settlements idealistic and fascinating, a dream I would live, but they are often in under populated areas like Somerset and Wales. As a Londoner I have witnessed enormous immigration into this small island, it is not sustainable especially as certain people coming in have it in their culture to have massive families. This is never taken into account by the liberal, free loving people that support mass immigration yet expect us to live in a green and pleasant land with it. We are a small island not Russia or Canada….
Making sure that a healthy lifestyle and exercise are at the basis, is the best condition to start with. Cancer isn't a disease like the flu, there's a long time of disbalance in one's life that leads to such a destructive disease. When it's present, you might try a remedy called Chlorine Dioxide. Some causes of cancer have pathogens at the core. There's a protocol for cancer, with Chlorine Dioxide treatment. It's the cheapest remedy in the world, and I've read testimonies of ex-patients too.
Hi there! We would like to highlight that we are a film company and not the proprietors of Lammas. From what we understood, the pigs were there mostly to provide compost and remove food waste. Many of those within the community adhered to vegetarian lifestyles; however, their decisions are theirs and were not discussed in detail with us. We apologise if this has caused distress but we only meant to portray their world. -Lime 58
In the grand scheme of things if God/The Creator/Allah/The Great Spirit was opposed to eating meat carnivores would not have been created...ie, lions, bears, wolves, T. Rex, Allosaurus, eagles, snakes, white bass, tuna, etc. To be integrated into Earth's cycle of life includes life sustaining food sources, whether animal or plant. To make a conscious choice to eat only plants is a worthy ideal but should not be forced on anyone by law or by judgement. Until we are able to survive on etheric energy or sunlight we have to sacrifice life to sustain life; remember, plants are living things also.
To live in harmony with the natural world....means letting go of human supremacy and dominance over other species but yet you are not plant based. You say you leave it to the individuals in the community. Sorry but this does not sit well....
Whilst I personally agree with you, different people see the issue differently. However, it may interest you to know that there are similar projects being set up now which are plant based.
This is BS. Look at the water being wasted at 6:04, not a second thought at all. Spouting on about how ppl shouldn't be in cities and everyone should be able to spread out and have their own shambled hut is greedy. There are too many people for this to be sustainable for everyone. Glad its working for you, but I doubt it is as efficient or good in the long run or for a large population like you seem to think.
Hi there, During our brief time with the people at Lammas we spoke to them and whilst it may seem like a large gap between their way of life and ours they promote a lot of smaller ways to improve our relationship with the environment (utilising renewable energy, etc) and this does not necessarily translate to everyone needing to move away from cities; it won't be for everyone. We're glad you are participating in the discussion, however - all opinions can be valid! It is also good to note that this a documentary and so is merely a portrayal of this way of life and does not intend to act as a means of persuasion - only as a observation and a platform for discussion on alternative living. All the best, -Lime58
No one says this is a sustainable solution for everyone. The UK will always be a country with cities of millions. However, there could be thousands of eco-villages not unlike this one. It is a lot more productive than the sheep grazing it replaced. As for wasting water... it's their own spring in west Wales, the water returns from whence it came!

I would love to live like this it's a shame because there isn't a lot of other places in the UK from what I can find legal ones anyway! 😢
me too. I still day dream of building a tiny house and living off grid here in Lincolnshire but land is the issue plus all the rules and regs.
Wonderful.
It looks amazing. How would a person come live a life like that? Is the adjacent land for sale or close by with the same planning rules?
There are similar projects currently looking for members.
@@gaiaslittlehelpers7099 of you have any links or info I would be very grateful, thank you
Would love to come and learn from you so that we can attempt to replicate it in South Africa!!
Marie Botha very nice, but in SA you would need a fence, alarm dogs and a few guns to stay safe!!

Great video, but the music is too loud.
With 3-400k input you could really really turn this place into something amazing. Your doing grand as it stands though
I wonder why it’s called Lammas. That word means a sheep in Finnish.
Hi, I Have savings for a co hab of a new land purchase (not 50k an acre) for that place if your all being moved on. Paul.
A spare half acre for sale.?
yeah sure that'll be 200,000£ please
@@d_vrdlovec8724 It's on the market for approx 50k an acre - The owners flogging it off.. tons of unused acres around there for 3.5 - 10k an acre..
@@paulwarren9854 i find it hard to believe an acre you can build on would sell for 3.5k

Do they have access to doctors?
Of course, it is UK with National Health System

And to provide Eggs, surely?*

We don’t need to kill in order to live. Don’t take this into religion. Have a conscious.
