Work has been killer lately. I let my brother borrow my Switch to play Breath of the Wild for the past week and meanwhile I was playing Pokemon Ranger. Pokemon Ranger is honestly one of the coolest games I've played. It just has such an amazing concept. I needed a break from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate cuz that game low-key pisses me off sometimes hahaha. But now it's back to work! Young Link Montage coming soon!
In this playthrough Pokemon Ranger Arlene (A.K.A. Solana) goes through the Fiore Region catching many different Pokemon and trying to become a Rank 10 Ranger while thwarting the evil team Go-Rock Squad.
Also I drew some promotional artwork of Solana for this video! (Guess it's not so "promotional" as I claim cuz it's just Solana's official artwork just drawn in my style.)

@@ethan0248910 Rhydon & Machoke were the Bosses at the end of Missions 1&2. Dragonite was a boss that when defeated would give you the ability for it to take you between towns for the rest of the game. Thanks for liking the timestamps, I felt they were necessary for this video. I'm going to add timestamps to your Shadows of Almia video as well.
The Charizard one made me rage so much man
I just couldn't figure how to beat him because of all that fire that was in the way
Also metagross was missing. Not a story mode boss but just like the Regis is an optional boss

The first one is amazing, the second one is..okay anx the third i daresay is outright not very good. I think thats why its not looked on too fondly as a _series_ unfortunately.

First Ranger honestly felt much harder than later games
Yeah I think it is because you have to catch it in one go! But if you're fast enough, it can be easier than the other games because most catches can be completed in a matter of seconds
Honestly I remember playing this as a kid and thinking it was some kind of fever dream, but no it was real, and the anxiety this game gave me was real

I think the only way to catch him is to use the Dark Assist maybe?

Ah same, I had to capture it once so that the body is grouped together, then capture it in high speed
I still have nightmares of the Salamence boss battle, it took me ages

I never realized how low the capture count was. When i fought the salamance i legit thought it was like 100 loops and here i'm like, man this was really a long time.
@Aryia Flynn I think it was Psyduck or Slowpoke with like 40 loops
Definitely did feel like 100 as a kid
Lol it feels like way more huh. I think the most I've seen is Metagross, which has 30 loops I believe.

OK honestly why is Pokémon Ranger such a bop with their soundtracks?
Some of my favorite tracks from this game are Jungle Relic, Go Rock Squad Encounter, Raikou/Suicune Battle and Entei Battle. What tracks do you enjoy?
This game was the most anxiety inducing things of my childhood. Watching this brought back vivid memories of how hard it was, with all the memories of how often I got stuck in this game lol
I remember it being pretty difficult when I was younger too. Had no idea a lot people played Pokemon Ranger back in the days.
The hardest boss is missing:
That escort mission with the guy scared of Bug types. If you touched a Bug type, start again :D it didn't help that Ariados was everywhere and was really fast chasing.

I think it's Politoed fight. But I'm not sure that's a boss fight.
God I remember not having a Stylus for this game and I still beat it, RIP my index finger nail and my DS Screen.

Back then i remember how i got stuck at the go rock squad's hideout because of that damn alarm system. Took me years to realize it was changing to the rhythm of the music.

For real. They were more difficult than most boss Pokemon in this game.

I see everyone talking about how hard Steelix was yet it was, like, one of the easiest bosses for me. It just kept moving in a circle.

I literally just played this game for the first time since I was a kid, I didn’t get the alarm thing in the enemy base ONCE but I remember being so stuck on it as a kid lmao I just ran right through the whole thing first try

Sneasel
There is a sneasel right before steelix that doubles your line length in exchange for units of health
Edit: in this video, sneasel is used
Running the game in the emulator with the mouse is not so easy, damn raikou entei and suicune they gave me some problems but I captured them :D
I love hearing about people emulating the Ranger games. I can't imagine playing Ranger without a stylus haha, my respect!

The game itself is old yes, but i am pretty sure this was recorded from the Wii U Virtual Console and DS games on Wii U Virtual don't have the same size quality as lets GBA, SNES N64 and NES you can blame it being dual screen for that matter if you'd like
It was recorded on Wii U, I just made it seem like it was on DS lol you figured me out haha

I've seen a lot of DS Games recorded in many methods and if people either know or are aware this kind of style is one of the display settings for Wii U Virtual Console, wish they had other better display methods, guess you can say can't fix what's not broken lol

To this very day i still havent beaten salamence. SO ANNOYING CONSTANTLY ATTACKING WHEN IM AT 1 OR 2 LOOPS LEFT AND THEN MOVING INTO THE CORNER WHERE I CAN BARELY MAKE A FULL CIRCLE
I thought he was gonna be pretty difficult too, but turns out he only attacked twice and then just let me capture him rather easily haha
I remember Kyogre and Groudon as being *very susceptible.* Whereas Kyogre would run away from the screen, Groudon would become hell-ish.
I actually have a hard time capturing charizard than the legendary Pokemon

This game took me months maybe longer to beat when it came out and I was a kid. I just got it and replayed it as a 24 year old and beat it in like 2 days 💀 and I was working both of them too so if I just had one straight day I prolly could’ve done it then. All the things I got stuck on as a kid I did in one try, the only ones I didn’t where charizard and the end battle

I already said that it would not be difficult for you to capture Charizard and Groudon, those Pokémon are difficult to capture the first time, steelix, so it is very extensive and is another difficult one to capture.
Entei is another one of the hard ones to capture, for some reason the fire types were very powerful in this game.

How do you access the Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza quests? I just finished the game and I'm looking for all the extra bosses
You can access them by:
Kyogre: Talk to Prof. Hastings in Fall City
Groudon: Talk to Cameron in Summerland (after going back to Ringtown for a vacation)
Rayquaza: Talk to Elita in Wintown
Guardian Sign players: Man I caught Arceus, I’m such a pro.
Me: Here’s the first one, catch that Fucking Rhydon and we’ll talk.
Guardian Sign players: But -
Me: CATCH IT
Guardian Sign Players: I HATE POKEMON 😢😭🤧
Me: Dry your tears, you’ve got Steelix left.

I never caught Arceus before. I know it's one of those wireless missions (which would require an immense amount of grinding for a solo capture). And yeah for real that Ryhorn and especially that Machoke in Fall City was super annoying (I didn't even realize it was a boss battle 😅)

Never defeated entei since I totally rage quit to it but yeah, I struggled ly ass up to beat charisard the first time and when I knew I had to beat it again hhhhh- boi I never touched that gama again lmao
@@Dafakizdat Charizard is pretty obnoxious. By the time the flame is running out, he spits more. I had to take 2 hits on purpose to clear space to circle around him and even then I used Plusle assist (which I don't really like using) to keep him in place.

Darkrai was in the second game (Shadows of Almia). This is the first Pokemon ranger game which came out prior to gen 4, so no Darkrai
