its kinda ironic how some players will rope almost every turn and think its ok (CGB, others) while others are so desperate to play ultra fast if you take 5 seconds theyll concede. Maybe Arena should have "rooms" or options like "only fast players" or "no yorion-borion"

@@ricardoolivo5244 It is okay. When you need to think things through you have the timer to do so. They aren’t the problem. It’s people who rope instead of concede when they know they’ve lost.
LVD doesn't play fast, but it's because he's thinking through things. It's annoying to play against, but it's not ever worth then wasting both your turns in spite. Especially not when you do all that showboating and you don't even know you've won and you just get BTFO'd.

For the longest time I thought Everflame (the equipment Irencrag transforms into) said that "equipped creature gets +3/+3 and loses all other abilities" and I was confused why people even considered ever transforming it

If it read that way why would you ever not transform it? The downside to transforming is loosing the mana ability.
@@BlakeFaeMorton OP stated they thought the creature lost abilities with it equipped and didn’t realize the equipment lost abilities when transformed.
I really appreciate the card type highlighting during the deck description. I think seeing it visualized has helped me mentally think about my decks differently and improve my builds.

Great video. This was my son's favorite commander in paper years ago before it was banned. He rebuilt it after it was un-banned, and it is always fun for me and his friends to try and beat it. Awesome Commander :) I will now make an Arena Deck immediately !

Yeah, when I came across the "regenerate" mechanic, it was very unintuitive as to how precisely it worked. What seems obscure is the text that says "the next time this would die..." when it only seems to be sensible to activate *at the time* it would die. Perhaps it's just the ambiguity inherent in what we call in the English language the "subjunctive" mood (would, should, could, etc.). It's unclear what the practical implication of the subjunctive conditional is (and I skipped that one in my logic courses, lol). In any case, regeneration is intuitive enough, once you use it a few times. Great deck - and that "your go" was super funny; love the cueing of the music whilst opponent figured out how to use their gobs of mana lol.
That is exactly how regeneration worked when Richard Garfield designed it. You would pay the cost at the time the creature would die, and then instead of dying, it would become tapped and fully healed.
It's my understanding that after the 6th Edition timing rules, there is now no time slot available between the creature taking lethal damage and dying, so you don't have any opportunity to activate regeneration. So as a workaround, they invented the concept of the regeneration shield that you need to apply in advance. But it was never originally intended to work this way.

... don't know how you can be so unrelentingly courteous and patient to all of your opponents. You seem to practice an uncanny level of stoic/Vulcan forbearance, dispassion, kindness and patience. That's a lesson in itself - how to be a moral/virtuous player. Quite impressive. I'm always humbled, and embarrassed at myself for being so ornery a player...thanks for setting a great example to the community :)

Dear LegenVD-san, I'm currently building my first brawl deck in MTGA. Do you have any plan to release tutorial for that? I found your video in which you suggest top 5 cards to craft for every colors. That's very helpful but I still want to know more generic info like what kind of creatures do we mostly need or standard mana carve etc. As far as I know, you're one of the best MTG players so I love to see more your tutorial video. Love the card! My first and only rather competitive deck i build in standard on paper: infect. With the 2/2 first strike, infect, Protection from white and Red phyrexian crusader. Mono red killer if you wäre not dead before you could Use it :P

@LegenVD oh yeah haven't even thought about spellbook cards. To be honest I really dislike the Alchemy cards in brawl and still hope they introduce a brawl format where you can only play with cards that exists in paper as well 😍

Whoa I got a little bit of motion sickness at 14:40 during the elevator music. maybe the floating calculations effect made it feel like there’s a forward motion happening and my eyes were focusing on the skithiryx card which was wobbling a little due to flying.

Tutoring Pact Weapon was still worth it since it didn't show up in other games.

It can certainly be improved with all the cards that aren't available on Arena that are legal in Commander.
It's designed to take out one player at a time, so be prepared for everyone to turn on you.
First opponent would've won if they'd only remembered to activate Nissa :P

Is "Throne of Eldraine" not in arena? It's so much better than Gilded Lotus. It gives 4 mana for 5 and lets you draw cards. Also, not sure if the 40k cards are in arena, but Scepter of Eternal Glory is a legendary Gilded Lotus but for 4 mana instead of 5.
They're not unfortunately. If you look up those cards on Scryfall it will say whether they're legal in Brawl.

@@OdinMagnus Historic Brawl now simply named Brawl is only really a digital format. Standard Brawl never really took off. But they both have a lot of similarities with Commander where those cards can be played.

Transformed Etali also has "infect" (it deals damage to players as poison counters), but it's much harder to get

I gotta say: Match 7? You just thoughtseize on 1. You're not doing anything else with that mana, you can hit important ramp or control tools...just not the correct decision there.
Drawing the artifact on turn two messed up my sequencing a little bit, but generally would've been better to wait a turn.
This gives them a chance to draw into a relevant spell for us to take, such as removal or a cheap ramp artifact.
There's not many people who deserve the sting of Skyritherix but somebody who says "your go" x2 every turn is chief in my mind among the most deserved of targets. When zoomers get on Arena and get impatient it annoys me because MTG is a game that requires at least 30-1hr minimum to complete and you multiply that by the Commander as some are quick and join a horde of haste bears or anthems but even then there's SETUP. Unless I am taking a deliberately annoying amount of time IE salt roping.
