It’s clear as day that Son doesn’t have the capabilities to play as a winger anymore. Drop Richarlison and play Son upfront as the centre forward. When he’s in the box and more central he’ll get more opportunities to score. Right now he’s playing so wide he can’t get a chance. It’s clear as day!

Back-passing stats is not necessarily a bad thing. Beside bad connotation about a player's inability to move forward in certain situations, it also mean that they have the intelligence to measure risk of losing possession for those situations as well

Completely new team with new players and manager still looking to gel. Good result considering how Brentford were untouchable last season at home and they were 2-0 h2h with Man City. Hardly easy beats.
We dominated them field position wise and I’d take this draw every day of the week.
We didn't have a proper preseason so hopefully everyone is 100% next week
VAR was unlucky, and an own goal. To go down 2-1 away and still manage a point is a great effort. Good building blocks. Need to put in perspective this season will see ebbs and flows because of the team trying to adjust to the new style of play.
In order to improve Tottenham's goal-scoring ability, Heung-min Son should be placed in the center, not on the left side wing.

I think it would be nice to try to use Heung-Min Son at the top without placing Heung-Min Son on the side. It seems that his skills have definitely dropped. When I watched yesterday's game, I didn't see any dangerous moves from the side, and even if I received the ball from the side, I could see him back pass again. I think it would be nice to try using Son Heung-min as the top.

What a fierce battle, both team really fought well, and son is top contributor today.
I just miss the opportunity that Kane makes for Son or other players. He knows what Son wants and needs on the pitch, they have that connection. The lob/long quick passes which makes Son run fast and score goals.. We don’t see that anymore, the players are too congested, and its dangerous coz the ball gets taken eventually and opponents who are in wide position could quickly counter attack and it’s a gamble if our defenders could quickly react and recover. He needs to be our striker, he is more clinical. Richy is just not happening he looks slow to react before kicking. Son will be invisible if he will just be used as a LB and distract opponents defenders. He needs to be at the center. And please start with Bisoumma, Maddison, and Lo Celso next time...and tell your midfielders not to be congested. they won’t create opportunities if they’re too tight. opponents will be at there noses if they do that they should be wide and create chances...

One of them, Kane, who transferred to Munich, and the other one is Son.
It doesn't mean to play a football focused only on Son.
It means to effectively utilize Tottenham's scoring routes and top scorers.
Son is an expensive player, and he excels in scoring, but he's not a cross machine.

When Spurs had a few chances to counterattack, they gave the ball to Kulu (He can't counterattack. He is the slowest) They should have passed the ball to Sonny. Spurs players still don't know about their own teammate. Sonny is the best counterattacker in that situation. They don't pass to Son even when he is in open area to shoot.

i think ange has got to make more tactical and personnel tweaks during games. for example moving sonny into the 9 and bringing on solo or bringing perisic and solo on for sonny and deki. also madders looked like he could’ve been sent off so in the late stages i would’ve brought him off for lo celso. however, all in all, great first competitive watch of ange ball in a tough setting and exciting signs of things to come!! Go for a 4-4-2 combination , son and richarlison upfront, perisic at left wing and kulusevski at right wing with Maddison and skipp in between , udogie at left back and Emerson at right back with van de ven and Romero at center back. Subs should be lo celso for Maddison , Solomon for perisic , hojbjerg for skipp, Porro davies dier for defenders and veliz for one of the strikers.

Im seeing everyone say Son should play centrally,he doesnt have movement,Physicality or Hold up play abilith to play as a 9,Richarlison was pretty good in all those departments today,the only issue was what was mainly required of him GOALS
It is true that Tottenham, led by coach Posteglu, is more aggressive and fun than Tottenham, led by coach Conte.But the problem is also serious.
The strikers failed to lead the game, and both goals were scored by the defenders.The biggest problem was Sony's position.
I think it would be better to use Sony as a two-top rather than sacrificing it with a position tied to the left.And I think it's good to use Perisic for that position.Sonny is Tottenham's best goal scorer.

Maddison looks pretty good! He is a type of a player spurs badly needed since Eriksen left sometime ago. I am certain that maddison holds a key to spurs success this season. We needed someone who can make a killer pass to Son and klu when they run behind the defense line.
I like Ange’s move of subbing Son for Perisic. They shouldnt be on the pitch together. You might as well sub them for each other, and perisic’s cross with rich’s header is exactly what we need if we need one goal towards the end of the match.
I have been constantly saying how terrible our plays were despite winning the games early on last season. I said we won because we were lucky not because we play good and that it won’t last past November, if things don’t change…
this season looks different. Once maddison starts to click with our top line, i think we will do some crazy shit!

Great start, great debuts from Maddison, VDV and Udogie, but Ange please play Son to his strengths, don't waste him on the wing. I was surprised and disappointed that Son was wasted on the wing despite so many seasons of him being lethal as a forward. Look at the data and numbers where Son is most lethal and play him there. We don't have Kane now so Son needs to be played in optimal position to get the best of him.
At least he should have interchanged with Richarlison in game. Really promising start though and Maddison could be the next Spurs legend.

I'm a fan of Spurs from Korea. Today's game showed better performance than last season. In particular, Udogie and Maddison showed impressive play. In my personal opinion, it seems that Richarlison is a little less capable to play the role Kane used to play. Tottenham had several opportunities, but it was a pity that it did not lead to good results.
And I think the saddest fact as a Spurs fan in Korea is Son Heung-min's poor performance. He played his first game with the captain's armband on, but his performance was very disappointing. A winger who can't de-pressurize from one defender and give creative passes to another player is not a true winger.
I think any player can do a back pass just because one defender is blocking it.
When I watched today's game, I thought that head coach Ange's tactics would have clear limits for the top EPL teams.
Even if there are several players on the team who show kill passes and creative movements, I don't think they will be able to penetrate the opponent's solid defense. First, our striker's movement is not good when he doesn't have the ball, and the number of shots is too small. Second, the strategy of attacking LB and RB by raising the line to the midfield is a good strategy only when the defense and midfield are very strong. Third, this strategy consumes a lot of players' physical strength. I think it could be a problem to continue this strategy in Spurs that doesn't have a deep player base.
Our team's defense has definitely improved, but there is a high risk because we are not in sync yet. Also, in the second half, the speed and ability of midfielders and strikers to participate in defense will be greatly reduced.
The top team players won't miss this opportunity, and we won't always be lucky. I would recommend putting Ivan or Solomon in the winger position and Son Heung-min in the center striker position.
I think Son Heung-min's biggest strengths are his scoring ability, both-footed, and splint, and his weaknesses are his rough ball touch, breakthrough ability, and defense ability. But the current tactics require Son Heung-min to do the worst. I think Solomon or Ivan, who have excellent personal skills, will play the role of Son Heung-min in today's game much better.
And please find a way to make the transition between offense and defense smooth. The same pattern and U-shaped ball rotation will reveal limitations. I think aggressive strategy is fun for a fan who supports, but it also has many weaknesses. I believe it will get better and better, and I'm looking forward to Spurs going back to the Champions League, but it still looks like there's a long way to go.
I know that both our squad and our coaches are committed to playing. I won't be able to go to England because I don't have enough money and time, but I will passionately support Tottenham Hotspur in Korea no matter what game they play.

Ange will move a lot of these players out and bring the right players regards to position, tactics, and style of play. It's evident that alot of these players got found out. They're not as good as they think they are. A lot of them lack that quality touch, and it was evident several lacked the pace needed for this aggressive style to be able to not only push the wings but push back.

We need more work on the offensive level, and I do not forget to praise Madison and Bisuma for their good performance, and Son needs time to return to his true form, but the defense still needs excellent pillars. but It's okay, a good draw in the opponent's stadium, we need to fix it against Man united and beat it
