Now that you've parnered up with PCBWAY, you can get it printed out of metal, give it a nice honed edge, wear a leather glove to catch it while doing backflips, and party up with the road warrior! I'd print out of TPU for a massive durability boost, TPU apparently also has a subtly lower weight than PLA as well, maybe that'd allocate some budget for carbon fiber rods to get pushed in then sealed? You could even get crazy with it and try something like varioshore (foaming TPU) to control where most of the weight sits, using a mesh as a flow and speed modifier.
Metal boomerang would be crazy :P. That's a certified self-defense weapon at that point. The TPU idea would push the design to be a MTA (maximum time aloft) boomerang, allowing it to stay in the air for longer. Carbon fiber rods probably won't be needed based on how light the boomerangs would be at that point. But at the end of the day, you can make boomerangs out of wood or PLA and it'd work :D.
Thanks! Had a really fun time learning how to get the nice renders to work. Only took a Saturday really. The rest was thinking how I could make it more creative :D
I made one of the 3 winged boomerangs when I was in primary school! It was made out of wood. I don't think mine ended up being able to return though. Fun process tho. I believe it was marginally wider at the tips than it was at the base
Nice! It could've all come down to the throw however. My boomerangs wouldn't return that well because I didn't give it enough spin or energy (speed) to return all the way. But either way, being able to make something is fun even if it doesn't work :P
Very glad you enjoyed :D. I was a bit afraid that it may not work the same with different printers, smoothed edges, etc. The catching will come with time.
You’re pretty good at making boomerangs come back, but can you make my father come back?
thats akshualle hilarious
great production
Very good boomerangs

Better than store bought boomerang! Great work with this! Got mine to come back to me most throws. Now I just need to learn how to catch…
