Fantastic double set and I have to say your hair dressing skills are great 👍 what a difference that makes to Chewies look it really improves the figure tremendously to the point I prefer it I think to your New Hope figure?, I feel your pain with the wee breakage but not noticeable, the crossbow itself is in good Nick. I hope you can perhaps pick up a replacement Han jacket to allow both looks, but I am with you on him having his big winter coat, looks ace🤩Hot Toys really do produce great headsculpts for the more mature characters, to that end I am looking forward massively to your mature Luke and Leia videos 😂when you get the opportunity to do them, as always really enjoyed the video ps at time of writing this you are sitting at 999 subscribers so a massive congratulations from me when you hit the 1k mark, thoroughly deserved… great channel👍as always stay well😀

I totally agree! I like them all but I think the stormtrooper disguise has to be my favourite! As you say, the expression is spot on isn’t it! Don’t think I’m getting the chrome death trooper tbh! I skipped the chrome stormtrooper too. They look stunning, but they just don’t fit my collection (at the moment! 😅)

Hello again I have this twin pack and some days I think chewbacca looks OK and others like some kind of dog .....I like the Stormtrooper trooper but unfortunately I don't own and on ebay he goes for silly prices....keep up the good work and nearly 1000 subscribers
Hey Peter!! Yeah I’m seeing that phenomenon too I must admit!! I look over at it and think yeah that looks decent, and then an hour later I look over and think jeez what’s going on! I’m thinking it’s purely the angle makes or breaks it maybe? Yeah the stormtrooper disguise Han is my fave I think. Sometimes he pops up for a reasonable price so always worth keeping an eye out 👍🏻 And thanks!! Didn’t realise it was that close to 1k subs tbh 😲
ANH Han was one of my first purchases (£220 brand new on release from a place in Birmingham) Obviously needed a Chewie to pair with him but didn't like the ANH Chewie that was available so ignored the double pack at the time. Grabbed the FA Chewie as soon as I saw him in single pack as much preferred that one and have always been happy with my purchase of him. Possibly i made a mistake by not getting the FA double pack but i can live with it. Ironically, I've never displayed him with Han. He's always stood next to Rey on my shelf, with Han stood next to Leia. Talk/hope of an Empire Han has been going for years. I'd love to see it done personally. Saw the original costume in the Millennium Dome at the Star Wars display. The Jacket sold for £350000 at auction some time after!! I think I'll settle for the Hot Toys version 🤣

Yeah tbh I’ve mixed up the displays and had Han *not* paired with Chewie on occasions. Interesting you went for TFA Chewie over ANH 👍🏻 Wow that’s an expensive jacket!! Would love to see a Hot Toys version for sure. Fingers crossed you’re right and we get an ESB or RotJ Han!!
I know a lot of people bash this Chewie, but I like him. Maybe we'll get a ROTJ Han for the 40th anniversary of that film. Hopefully we'll get quite a few figures for that anniversary.

Yeah the quality of the coat is crazy, it feels like an actual coat! 😅 I guess if I never source the leather jacket, between us we have both variations covered in our collections! 😀👊🏻🙌🏻

The more I was looking at this Han, the more the Solo version seemed like an absolutely different guy, lol. Putting that aside, I'm convinced that they will release Empire version Han and a Han in carbonite would be nice, even if it was just a plastic one like the hasbro version I'm still using behind my Boba.
Ha! Yeah the more you compare the less the younger looks right! I think the mannerisms were there with the young Solo, but these don’t quite translate to sixth scale in this case, unlike the stormtrooper disguise which I think is an amazing likeness. Honestly mate I hope you’re right about ESB Han and a CarboHan would be great too! 👍🏻🙌🏻
This is definitely the best sequel set. I think we may get a new Han next year. when they release the new Indiana Jones moves, if Hot Toys pay for his image rights.
Yeah I think you’ve hit the nail on the head there, paying for the image rights! I seem to remember they weren’t paying again after TFA, but hopefully I’m wrong!! Would love new Han figures!! 😀
Have to say, I've never been very impressed with TFA Chewie. I have seen some examples of heavily "futzed" and altered TFA Chewies that have been a big improvement on out of the box, but I think a fair bit of effort needs to be put into it. I do still prefer the ANH version. Needs less tweaking and playing with to get it look good. The old man, dead beat dad Han from TFA figure looks really good. HT do some really good sculpts of older faces. They do make a great display together. That Han does look particularly good. Personally I'm not collecting anything from the ST. I do prefer the ANH Han and Chewie over the TFA pair.
I think I’ve seen a photo of someone’s who made the Chewie look amazing, but I think they had to physically alter the head sculpt somehow! Like you say though it was a big improvement, but yeah too much effort (and skill!) for me to attempt I think 😅 “The old man, dead beat dad Han..” that is an amazing start to a sentence dude 🤣👌🏻 Love it!! @@TK421Collectibles I think it was just compressed a long period of time. I bought it about three years ago, new, so it had been in the box for years. Also, when compared to the movie version (or HT publicity pics), he's too dark, doesn't have the lighter fur on his face and neck. I think there were two runs on the figure, 'cause I remember seeing another UA-camr complaining about his being too dark, as well.
@@daniel_sc1024 funny you should say that because when I was having a closer look at ANH Chewie doing this vid I thought “wow his fur is *really* dark”. The difference between the versions made it all the more apparent too!
Han does look rather grumpy doesn’t he!! I think the colours of Chewbacca in these Hot Toys figures is way off the mark. In the films the ANH Chewie does look a lot darker in some shots than in TFA. But yeah in sixth scale format the colours are way off.
I got a replacement jacket as this set was from a country where the humidity had caused the pleather to flake to bits. Fortunately I live in a climate where humidity is not an issue so I never have any issues with pleather 👍🏻 Thanks for watching 🙌🏻

@@naxemsic2278ah ok sorry 😀 Did you buy Vader new? If Vader was new and still developed problems with the leather it might be the humidity and you may find same happens with Han’s coat 😢 Do you have other figures with leather and how are they holding up?

Sadly, Chewie’s actor is dead and Harrison Ford no longer wants to associate with any of his big roles.
I have new hope chewbacca and Han Solo now it’s made my collection. Now I have 17 Star Wars hot toys

I now have some extra adversaries for my troopers. The 3 Endor Rebel Commandos usually go for about £200 each. Got them in a bundle for £180!

My ANH Chewie spent so much time in the box his hair was matted down - I had to spend a lot of time picking it apart and brushing it out.

Got Harrisons grumpy face down to a t. Do walking carpets go lighter as they age , is it the Wookie version of going gray?
