I love that you make it clear that not eating animal flesh does NOT mean you're sacrificing in ANY way! You are an awesome Chef, indeed. Thanks for sharing with us. 😊
I just tried the BBQ crusted tofu recipe last night and it was literally my favorite block of tofu I've had since being vegan for the last 7 years! I can't wait to try some tofu like this on the BBQ! Also, love the black black on black Wicked Kitchen logo at the end of the video! Thanks again for all the work you guys put into these videos, it's really taking my cooking up another level! -Cody
10:59 I saw and I tried. Wrap it in a towel, freeze it, drain it (I’m lazy) wrap and freeze again. Used ir for buffalo strips .. works good :) On another note.. omg I just stopped at new little shop that had fresh strawberries, drizzled with a cocao .. and almond butter.. yum! Yeah I have add lol
Outdoor videos, especially sunny ones like this one REALLY get my mood up. Everything looked tasty and nice. My favourite was actually the barley salad! Very vibrant and different. Thank you
Nice to see a red kite above your garden! Beautiful birds that are appearing more now in our skies... Lovely to see so many herbs you have growing, incredible plants with so many amazing properties. Great video thank you 🙏
So amazing, looks absolutely delicious! Thank you for the tips about using agave or maple syrup in place of the oil, I really appreciate that. Love Frankie, she is a doll and a great companion. Thank you for another great meal and sharing your smart and wonderful recipes.
Yes chef! I've been saying for a long time that you have to season and prepare the heck out of meat to make it taste good so why not do the same with something else that's not meat? No violence and bloodshed in the process. I am so grateful to have come across your channel that operates under that very same idea. So many great recipes to explore.
Your Tofu technique for barbequing was fabulous! I wondered how the inside of the large Tofu block would get flavored and it came out extraordinary with barbeque sauce! The salad and coleslaw are beautiful as well.
Amazing, thanks for these videos, so helpful for us amateur cooks looking to do something special that's actually doable. Do you ever do any UK food events where we can try your food?
Thanks for watching and playing in the kitchen. We have the wicked kitchen products in the UK does that count as an event :), haven't done many here, yet. It's not as easy when you don't have all the equipment but am open to doing pop ups and collaborations.
Good to see a chef that really enjoys the food they cook , no small bites or pissing around , you get right in there . Frankie is a babe . Vegan for the animals.
Love your edit! As always the food looks amazing🔥 Question- do you ever double freeze tofu to get a different texture before marinating and cooking? Franky is a sweetheart 🥰
Thanks for watching. I don't usually freeze tofu, not opposed but I'm too impatient to wait for the freeze, then thaw, when i can achieve great results as is and don't think ahead enough. :)
Oh my freaking gawd! I miss American bbq’s. I am an American living in Scotland for the last 28 years. While I go home to VT once a year, it is either in early spring or early winter, so do not get the family bbq’s. This one looked so great. Your grain salad looks lush! I cannot wait to try it. I do a similar one with quinoa but also add chopped up marinated artichokes. I cannot wait to try everything in this video. My in-laws are coming up next week and staying for a couple weeks. If we have the weather for it, this is what I am making! Thanks so much for all your videos! I know when I make your recipes that the family will eat well and enjoy every bite. You are personally responsible for getting my hubby to go vegan. So thank you, Derek! He loves your recipes…he has a few favourites that we make regularly, but his absolute favourite is the pulled “pork” using king oyster mushrooms. He is like a child dancing about the kitchen in excitement as it is cooking lol. Even our Labrador, “Nutmeg” gets excited as she enjoys a little too. When I tell him I am trying a new recipe he looks dubious, then when I say it is from Wicked Kitchen, he is good to go lol. We have tried so many of your recipes that he knows it will be a winner.
I really love the consideration of different textures with the different tofu products. It’s a nuance that’s overlooked. Can’t wait to try this one! So the next vid is the tofu/mushroom combo? Or seitan? I’m totally imagining the pay by weight bbq shops served on butcher paper… 🤤
Didn't know that you could grill cabbage, Derek... 😏😏😏😏 The coleslaw and smoked BBQ tofu looks absolutely delicious Hey! I wrote ya via Instagram about two weeks ago about a mushroom that I happened to find and don't know about. I was wondering if you ever encountered any Bunapi mushrooms while in the UK or when you are Stateside? Anyway bon appetit and have a safe healthy fantastic Friday afternoon...
Thanks for watching. Bunapi is another name or brand name for shimije mushrooms and yep we have used them. I've even been to Korea and toured where they grow them. Super delicious. reat for stir fry or soups. Thanks for watching.
This looks AMAZING and like something I can actually make with my non-vegan dad who has a big smoker and a grill all that jazz. I've been slowly looking for something like this for awhile, thank you. Do you know how long you roughly left the tofu on the grill/smoker for?
times can vary depending on what you want to do and the temperature of the grill, this was smoking for about an hour, it really helped drive the flavor in and with the texture that stayed together so when slicing and saucing it holds up to perfection. thanks for watching.
If you find yourself on Long Island I would most def come see you. I wanna go check out the mattituck mushroom farm. I might even make a video.. Going organic farm stand hunting
Amazing sir. BIg question though: Is there a way to make the tofu without having a bbq? Oven roasting instead, would that be posible? Subbed!. Thank you!!
What kind of barbecue do you recommend, especially for the person who doesn’t cook meat (seafood occasionally)? Or would you recommend a smoker? Combination? Thank you!
I'm sure it's doable but doesn't sound as satisfying as doing it whole and would require a slightly different process. Let us know if you do and how it comes out. Thanks for watching.
Watch Forks Over Knives. We are well aware of the No Oil thing as it used to be part of our job. We try to show a balance and our priority are no animals first. Thanks for watching.

Cant wait to try this. Love the bbq, is it a Weber? Thank you, about to invest in cooking on bbq coals and fire.
If in the UK this is an www.theovo.co.uk/ or Green Egg is similar
Do you have a cookbook that I buy to help me to follow along, step by step? I'd sure love to try your great ideas! 👍😀
The Wicked Healthy Cookbook
Duuuuuuude so bomb!!!! Can’t wait to try 😍😍
I wonder if you broke the tofu down into smaller pieces if you would get more smoke and seasoning to it? It looks delicious.
I'm sure it's doable but doesn't sound as satisfying as doing it whole and would require a slightly different process. Let us know if you do and how it comes out. Thanks for watching.
What was the actual time on the grill for the tofu? AWESOME meal, thanks for sharing
It can vary, slow smoked for about an hour, sliced then back on in bbq sauce for another 20.
looks amazing... what if we can't use a bbq? can we do this in a regular stove?
Your sandwiches are 🔥🔥🔥💐💐💐
Ooh ooh ❤❤
Man this rocks!!!! 🤠🤠😎
Omg you're out of this worlllld 😲🤯😍🤩😋 i gotta try this
Wow, just wow!

WOW!! Can I replace the cauliflower with cashews? I've just never liked cauliflower 😅
Min.9.09in Italy they are called ˋpiselli mangiatutto‘ I really love them but it´s not that easy to find.
We know them as snow peas. :)
I love grilled coleslaw! My wife and I are also glad you shaved your mustache, it looked horrible! :)

As we always say the sharpest knife is the best knife, no matter what the brand. These we got from Dalstrong and Shun.

Can i toast something like barley on a regular or nonstick pan?
Since you mentioned Misen En Place, can you please make a video how you set up your kitchen.
Sure thing will work on that. Thanks for watching.

Please do vegan black pudding
I never liked it non vegan - will have to look into that. Thanks for watching.
In case no one else posted it, mangetout is pronounced "maang too"
Do u use seitan?
I made the coleslaw. The flavours were nice but eating chucks of raw cabbage was not appealing at all. Today i learned why slaw is typically sliced.
That Mayo is vegan? Where can I get it?
So is the texture springy
It's delicious! Not springy - whatever that is. Thanks for watching.
How many sandwiches does this make?
I fed six. I'd do more next time for more leftovers, it's so inexpensive - why not!
You must get so many people bitching about using oil to mention it in every video. I didn't even know "oil-less" cooking was a thing.
Watch Forks Over Knives. We are well aware of the No Oil thing as it used to be part of our job. We try to show a balance and our priority are no animals first. Thanks for watching.
